BIBs Tech Talks: Bushings 015

I feel like at this point, there's more value in me just posting raw info dumps while I do them, than not doing them at all. All the editing and planning takes time I don't have, so here's what you get lol.
Intro to bushings. I'll go more in depth later as tint goes on showing how to develop specific bushings, but this at least shows you how to measure what you have, why is designed the way it is, and how to get an aftermarket solution in the ballpark.

But for real that's a higher level than I've ever thought about bushings. I have had name brand poly mounts wallow out after just a couple years. They were slid in with no preload.

I still expect these to only last a few years since they're not rock solid and not rubber, but they'll have very consistent performance over that time period. The inner metal is over an inch in diameter instead of 14-16mm steel sleeve the bolt goes through. Much more area to load the PU so that should also help durability of the softer rates.
