But the fans already understand that these are just stories that the simpsons characters tell during Halloween, let's see here, I think Lisa told the story of Homer killing celebrities only for him to be killed by them at the end and I think Bart made have told the Transformations parody. I think maybe Marge told this story. It's been confirmed by Homer during The Simpsons Halloween episode (No Treehouse of Horror) that the Treehouse of Horror are still stories told by the characters.
For those who think they've trampled on a beloved children's classic, at least you'll have learned one thing: if a giant talking pumpkin or turkey do exist, never let them know that their kind gets cooked and eaten and/or carved.
