Fs. 5-0 stal transfer to fakie. Or maybe fs blunt transfer. I think if you'd slightly wet the concrete and rocks below the surface itll help prevent cracking. Maybe a sheet of plastic to prevent vapourizing. If you own a chissel you could grind two parralel groves and just chissel a channel. This also gives the new layer of concrete some thickness which helps for the strenght and maybe avoids the need of the vinylpatcher.
I use the 3D Satellite option on iPhone maps to find DIY spots. I found an abandoned tennis court in an isolated part of town! No businesses, no houses, no complaints and no one to get in my way!
I see you posted this 3 years ago and wanted to know the progress in building at the tennis courts?? In my neighborhood there's 3 abandoned courts but they have security posted there and wanted to know if you ran into any issues???
@@Mahmoud_Hassan786 You can find other areas that aren't as populated. I found that tennis court on accident. I was looking for flat ground and I ended up putting a quarter pipe and a fun box. I had to sweep the dirt and kill all the weeds growing in the ground. I was fun for a couple months until I had to move lol I suggest looking on maps to find hidden spots.
Another Killer Video Brother! Definitely one of your best builds! Looks so sick. Now that you have that cordless grinder, you are going to be able to build so much more. Several years ago I bought an inexpensive generator from Harbor Freight for $88. I use it when I'm working at a spot with no electricity to charge up all my cordless tools. Great tool to invest in. Keep Killing It! 💪💥🔥🤘
I love it. It's small, diverse and I imagine it's great to learn stuff on. Awesome build that really anyone could do. I think I'm gonna try to create a really interesting spot this summer, this got me quite inspired :)
Hey Zack, new subscriber here. That spine looks fantastic! Looks like a lot of fun also for not very skilled skaters like myself. I think that's going to be my first DIY project, I want to skate it so bad! :) Do you think it works as a kicker ramp too? Thanks for the content, keep it up! Cheers from Germany.
These videos are so awesome. Have you ever tried skating the quarter mile long drainage ditch near 5725 Eastgate Dr, San Diego, CA 92121? It’s about 20 feet wide with small banks on each side. There’s hardly any downward incline to the drainage.
Dowdy, on one side I noticed u used a mix of motar and the white bag of quick crete, but the next day u used the yellow bag with any mix, is it better just to use the yellow bags on concrete mix? I’m tryna get into sum DIY’s in my city
Is there a video for that concrete ledge/manny pad or did I just miss it? I wanna try and build one so bad. Also, if you ever go to Austin TX there's a PERFECT hidden diy spot that's been growing the past few years.
Hey Zack! Super nice DIY videos, learnt a lot so far. Just a question: do I understand it correctly that the first pour of concreate (wich makes up the tha basics of the shape) is a drier mix wich you then finish of with a more wet concrete mix for the nice smooth finish? Thanks for the reply man, so much appreciated :)
Am I crazy or did my dude make a cut but not break out the concrete at the beginning of the transition? What was the point of the cut? Should be so that the riding surface doesn’t taper too thin and break up from rolling over it.
Or was it broken up but the fill just filled flush to the ground level? Would seem like a waste of time if so? Just curious... I was lookin’ out for it specifically but didn’t really see anything besides the cut
hi, you are killing your back and wasting you time by doing the mix this way . open the bags of mortier on the ground , shape it like a volcano and then add your water on the hole . and then yon can do the mix standing up with a shovel taking the mortier from the outside to the center. i hope this tips can help .Love your video and style . Alex, French 43 years sk8ter and builder .
I've tried this in the past and it got really messy, I've had success with quickcrete but because the mortar is so fine, it kinda ends up spreading out vs mixing. But maybe I should try again!
That's the technical term but they're more commonly referred to as curbs. Yes, curbs also refers the edge of a sidewalk. Did you know literally every ledge is considered a curb in Spain? Not everyone speaks the same way 😉
What tricks do you want to see on the spot!?!
Slappy Noseslide to any flatground trick would be sick!

All of them
Nose truck tranfers. A tiny no comply.
Roll up the side to a fs crooked grind shuvit off the end
That’s a great multipurpose obstacle; probably my favorite out of all of your builds so far.
Same! Thank you

The spot looks super rad, I wanna skate it, where’s it at?...Is it in Los Angeles?
Job well done 🤙🏽
Where were you getting water from?!
I typically fill up water buckets at home first
You should keep the gravel away from the forms so when you strip it the substrate won’t erode
i love your videos
They love you!
Sicc built
Is there a reason for you using different cements? Like is the industrial (white bag) better for a base layer or are you just using what you got?
Dowdy, on one side I noticed u used a mix of motar and the white bag of quick crete, but the next day u used the yellow bag with any mix, is it better just to use the yellow bags on concrete mix? I’m tryna get into sum DIY’s in my city

Put a tarp over it for some shade next time bruh. Slows the curing a bit. Especially stops the sun from baking it direct. Good job as always tho :)
I noticed you add mortar to your Quikrete mix, what's the purpose of that? Smoother finish? Added strength due to extra Portland?
you fucking rock man. Seriously.
Do you do it with free will or need permission

Stoked they can help! You got that right, drier mix for the fill & a little more pasty/wet for the top.
Sick
Recycling is important X)
what do you do for a living ?
Helll yah brother
Epic
What kind of concrete mix do you use for the top layer? it looks alot smoother and it looks like it has less aggregate compared to the initial layer
Mortar! Sometimes I’ll mix it into the crete the second side I just layered on top & it doesn’t seem as strong.
@@ZackDowdy thank you!
How many bags did you use ? , what poundage ? 60 , 80?
nice
How many ,of what, bags did it take to build that up???????
I found this spot like a week before it got leveled.
Yeeessssss
clean your tools when youre done building!
That in north county or south ?
Cool channel by the way like to see the passion it's rad
How do you get away with this? Dude
