Tokyo Wars is a 3D third-person arcade shooter developed and published by Namco in 1996, operating through the Namco System Super 22 motherboard. Although it focuses on tank combat, this title is in no way related to the well-known series in the theme produced by the Japanese software house, the same of which it released in the early part of the 1980s and early 1990s, namely the trilogy consisting of Tank Battalion, Battle City and Tank Force. The cabin cruiser in the deluxe model features a pneumatic haptic interface control, which simulates the recoil of a real tank's cannon, providing an extra realistic gaming experience compared to the standard model.
My mom loves playing this way back in the 90s. Hard to find an arcade here in the Philippines that still has this game and if I ever find one I knew she would still play this😂
Oh man, I recall this game when I was a kid. Best set up I played was in a Game Works in Vegas. 3 Vs 3 machine set up with the recoil cannon knock back enabled. Won every match I played. I would hide and shoot, when everyone else stud in the open.
I used to play this in the local mall arcade in the 90s and I loved the hell out of it. Sadly the remake/sequel Tokyo Warfare and Tokyo Warfare turbo in Steam never took off and you cant find any players. I love playing that one with bots from time to time
There was a Gameworks back in 2003 that I LOVED going to. Smack dab in the middle of this arcade was TOKYO WARS. My sister and I loved playing this together, but it was a heavily demanded game so they charged you 2 to 3 dollars per play on your game card, but it was waaaaay worth it.
I loved playing this as a kid at the arcade. Had to shoot for 100% accuracy! The announcer voice lives rent free in my head, too. But I still don't understand some of his lines. Is it "Off the mark"? "Call for the mark"? And, is it, ", dammit!"? Stuff like "antenna" and "engine"? I assume that was just flavor, I wonder how many different voices lines there are.
Looking at this now, it's kinda like a spiritual sequel to Namco's Cyber Sled, and Tank! Tank! Tank! following on from this game.
Oh, I remember your channel, you ok?
@@MrElpizo1982 Alas, I've been sick :(
