Black bears and coyotes are found in almost all continental US states. There are wolves as well, but wherever wolves live, black bears also live, and so wolves are not the biggest predator anywhere. Grizzly bears are a type (subspecies) of Brown Bear. The grizzly bear is native to the southern 48, but has been extirpated in most areas, so that they are now only found in limited areas of the northern Rocky Mountain region. Brown bears are also found in Alaska (Kodiak bears) and are a different subspecies to the grizzly, but they are not the largest due to polar bears also inhabiting Alaska. So even though the US also has wolves, Kodiak bears, and jaguars, due to other larger predators living with them they were absent from this video.

Glad you mentioned New York isn't just a city. As a Northern New Yorker, it's frustrating when ppl think that, when in reality the MAJORITY of the state is forests, lakes, rivers, farmlands, and of course mountains. The Adirondack Mountains are absolutely beautiful. And the wildlife is very diverse as well, obviously black bears, but also mountain lions and several sightings of them in the north are melanistic(all black), so they basically look like panthers. We also have wolves, coyotes, foxes, bobcats and lynx, not to mention eagles, hawks, falcons... and that's just the main predators. Don't forget our entire northern border is one of the Great Lakes (Lake Ontario) and also the St. Lawrence River Seaway which are both just stunning. So, if(when) you do finally get to visit the US and you want to see the City, don't forget there is entirely different world of nature and beauty the further north you drive, and it's definitely worth checking out!😉

Polar bears are far northern bears. The American crocodile I think is found only in southern Florida. Florida has about 1.3 million American Alligators, second to Louisiana. I live in rural Michigan and a Black Bear visits me once every Spring and once every Autumn. When he wakes up from his hibernation he's looking for a quick meal, so I keep something out there for him when he arrives. When Autumn arrives he's looking for one last good meal before he hibernates, I give him that too, he doesn't visit any other time of year except for those two days and he's been doing this for four years now, I look forward to his visits because he sits right outside my bedroom window and fuels up for whatever season it is! I would never go outside and confront him so I just keep the food stocked really well until his arrival and then I go back to regular portions for everyone that eats here, which includes Raccoons, Opossums, Deer, and Skunks at night, if anything else comes up and wants a share well, that's up to whoever is out there at the time, they are pretty good about sharing. During the day I feed Squirrels, all kinds of Birds including some beautiful Woodpeckers, I have seven different kinds of Woodpeckers on my little piece of property! Songbirds, and yes, there are even Raptors that try to take advantage of all of these birds gathering together but I also have three crows that hang out here and they mob the raptors and keep them away quite efficiently! There have been Red-Tailed Hawks, Bald Eagles and Peregrine Falcons try for the little birds, they have succeeded three times in all of the years I've been feeding the animals.

Our Polar bears have been mating with grizzlies for many years and the hybrid species is terrifies me. Da fam, I've been privileged to see a black bear and grizzly during my '84 drive from NW of Chicago up to Alaska, and back in about '05, I drove up to Manitoba, Canada, where I took a 24 hour train ride to Hudson Bay, where I went on a polar bear tour--all great experiences. Mom, polar bears are possible in Alaska, since we have coastline on the Arctic Ocean, as well as the Atlantic and Pacific.
In addition to CA having beaches and sand, they also have mountains where it's possible to snow ski. In fact, in the pioneer days of the 1800s, many in a group heading west froze to death in those mtns.--the Donner Party, and back in 1960, a town on Lake Tahoe hosted the Winter Olympics. This part of the state is also home to Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon N,P,
Florida is the only place in the world where both alligators (fresh water) and crocodiles (salt water) are found.
"Very little bears" in Kansas? Does that mean numbers or size?😅😉
You've probably already been told this in the past, but mtn. lions have 3 regional aliases--panther, catamount and puma.
Re. New York, you've no doubt heard or maybe seen the movie "Miracle on Ice". This took place at the Olympics held in Lake Placid--a tiny town in Upstate NY's Adirondack Mtns. back in 1980. They extend almost to the Canadian border almost 400 mi./645km. north.
Being the smallest state, RI probably doesn't have room for more than 10 bears.
Brown bears aren't necessarily grizzly bears, but all grizzlies are brown bears, as well as Kodiak bears.

North Carolina has 20,000 black bears and they can be found all over the state. Alligators are only found on the east coast of the state.
I've had bears in my yard and seen them on hiking trails. I don't worry about them.

We live in northwest montana on the flathead indian reservation. We have pretty much everything except alligators. Montana also has the highest concentration of grizzlies in the lower 48. We have mountain lions, black bear, bobcats, coyote, wolverines, and badgers if I'm not mistaken. The only one o actually worry about is a mountain lion, they're stealthy, quick attack predators. A male lion can get up to 160 pounds, not your average run of the mill house cat. The big thing here is, if you stop seeing deer, chances are a predator of some sort is near. A few years ago, a sow grizzly killed our neighbors llama that got loose, and what made her dangerous was she had 3 cubs. But you just be cautious and most times they tend to leave people alone, and carry really good bear spray, but don't spray directly in a bears face, spray it on the ground in front of it, and let the spray drift up, it will detour them if done right. If you spray it directly in the face, it'll just get mad. Some will carry a large caliber hand gun with stopping power, but, I own a good large caliber hand gun myself. But I've never carried it with me, and no issues yet. Grizzly attacks most times will be fatal, but caution is your best defense in my opinion.

And, yes, some people DO go into the water! Not me but some do.
But I now live in the mountains of Virginia and I’ve had numerous black bears on my property and I had one on my porch one night that was 400 lbs

Grizzlies are brown bears, and they only exist in a few states in the upper mountain west (there is a large, managed habitat in a large radius around Yellowstone NP). There also are brown bears in Alaska, where they are often known as Kodiak bears. Black bears are a different species, and they are endemic in most places in the U.S. Bears are omnivores but seldom attack people, unless they perceive a threat from the person(s) to themselves or their cubs. In rare cases, Grizzlies have been known to prey on humans as an opportunistic predator, but all bears tend to avoid people unless they are habituated. When bears get used to people, it is always bad news -- most often for the bear.

I've lived and worked in Alaska for several years. Worked above the Arctic Circle on the Chukchi Sea coast. Polar Bears will actively hunt a human and are very smart.
We lived down in the Anchorage area and had Coastal Brown Bears...again dangerous but not apt to actively attack humans but will.
Now the title of this is largest "predator". Now not a predator but if I had a choice between a PO'ed Bull Moose or a Brown Bear, I think I'd choose to just stay home.

They mentioned Coyotes and saying the largest was about 40 lbs (about 18 kg). However, Bob Cats (a medium sized wild cat) can run up to 44 lbs (almost 20 kg). And they are in every state except 3. Having said that, I live in Nevada and most of the Coyotes where I live would push somewhere between 70 (30 kg) and 100 lbs (45 kg). There used to be a couple that walked past the house regularly (just about sunrise every morning) that were easily a 100 lbs - seems like a lot of chickens were missing out this way - lmao. Oh sure, I've seen some that are smaller coyotes, but only the ones that aren't eating too well or were younger maybe. The only things bigger would have been the mountain lions and the Black Bears - luckily they don't walk down the middle of the road like the coyotes did.

I spent 14 years of my life in Georgia. For 4 of those years I was a river guide. Part of my job was to clear the rivers of fallen trees so our canoes could pass through. I can personally assure you there is no shortage of alligators. However when you have a chainsaw the gators leave you alone so it's all cool.

Considering the numbers of the animals in each state that was quoted in the video. The size of the state has to be taken into account. Also, there are coyotes in just about every state in America. And in some states such as California, New Mexico,
Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Texas, as well as a host of other states, mountain lions A.K.A. Cougars can be found. It was a very interesting video, but it didn’t tell the whole story. America has a wide variety of wild animals that can turn your happy day into one that you wished you hadn’t gotten out of bed that day. One of the most important things to remember about wild animals, don’t feed them. When people feed them they look to the rest of us as a food source. Not a good situation to be in. And some of them eat a lot. Always enjoy you videos. 🤠👍🇨🇱

I remember that line on a globe looking to see where Maryland temp might line up, I hit just below the island of Hokkaido. Looking at it for EUpeans has Maryland/northern Cali around Greece/southern Italy/Turkey. Texas/Florida is Egypt. Paris would be in Canada. South of that would be Montana/North Dakota. Maryland IMO has decent weather and still the South. In Texas ~100 degrees, I need the AC. According to people talking humidity, gator country feels way hotter, enough you'd rather swim with a dinosaur. The dry heat you can feel the sun sitting on your hair. I dunno if I could take the humidity.

Brown bears are pretty much a grizzly bear version. Grizzlies can come in various other colours such as silver tip and black or dark chocolate brown and a tan colour as well. It really doesnt matter ehat colour of grizzly you see...you best hope it doesnt see you as they will often not fear you and will charge or attack or at the very least threaten you with a show of force to scare you away...do not turn and run rrom them just back away slowly and make yourself look bigger than you are like holding a ski pole in both hands over your head as you back away. Also works on Moose that try to attack you.😅
