@@yaongingyfmm1571 That is the case if you think like you and I, Its quite obvious that there is a scary amount that doesn't though. I was a tad masochistic today, I went onto MSNBC UA-cam and started a discussion with some Trumpsters, It soon became clear that the person I was "debating" thought that it was Antifa that had done this attack to give the right a bad name. And for him this quote would have been perfect towards us. We see this over and over again, it is a real social cost to acknowledge that the actions taken by ones own group doesn't coincide with ones own moral principals so they decide to make a scapegoat out of the opposition instead.
DC was on fire for several bocks in multiple directions just last May. The 2020 riots were the most destructive and violent riots in half a century. Billions in damages were done to hundreds of buildings, and not just small businesses but also including your sacred federal buildings too. Over 50 federal buildings were burned or damaged. Thousands of people were hurt. There were hundreds of shootings, and over 30 people murdered. You don't get to call that "mostly peaceful" and then decry and condemn the Capitol riot. Not only did the establishment and MSM and leftist punditry set the precedent for this, but far, far worse than the Capitol riot. Oh, and we have no reason to expect anything less. The left pushed 4 years of Russia-gate, so you can expect at least 4 more years of election-fraud narratives. Again, the left set this precedent, pushing incendiary partisan propaganda for years, culminating in the 2020 riots. What happened at the Capitol was a drop in the bucket. The utterly insane rhetoric coming from Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Kamala Harris, and Joe Biden not only precipitated but inspired and encouraged the worst riots in half a century, by far. You do not get to trivialize and even defend the terrorizing of half the nation for 5+ months straight, and then condemn your opposition when they react not even 1/10th as destructive or violently. Biden and Harris literally bailed out the 2020 rioters. Please explain why Pelosi, Waters, Harris and Biden have not been deplatformed for inspiring and instigating exponentially more harm.
2 things amazes me every day lately: The apparent incapacity of most people, on both sides, in media, politics and culture, to judge someone's action based on the action itself rather than their allegiance to the person or the people who did it; The complete denial of responsability from everyone who poured gasoline in the fire for ratings and money in the last years.
You're being dishonest if you insinuate that both sides are equally irresponsible. One side created ALTERNATIVE FACTS and produced the worst joke of a president we've ever had. The other side wants to please everybody and eats their own if you ask me.

That was funny. Shaman is a left wing extremist. Seen at BLM protests and climate change protests. Not a trumper. Friend of Pelosi's son-in-law (selfie taken together). We are finding out more as time rolls on. Like Capitol police chief asked 6 times for additional law enforcement and was denied. FBI was alerted to separate cell attacks prior to Jan 6th and did not alert the President. We have footage of Capitol police moving barriers to allow protesters to enter the Capitol. We need more information to make any determination on what happened that day. There was no "incitement of insurrection." That is absurd.
@@vickigeorge5348 you are just obviously reading ONLY conspiratorial nonsense and accepting it as true. You won't accept any evidence which directly contradicts literally everything you just said. Ya but Sam confuses Q followers with Trump followers. Trump says he was cheated with the election but he doesn't spew the same garbage Q does. More Hun or Mongol than Viking. Real Viking only wore horned, gold-plated, jewel-encrusted helmets for big, formal occasions. On "Business", they wore simple non-horned helmets, harder for enemies to grab onto and cut your throat, killing you.

@@bosmerfromcanada3878 viking helmets never had horns. Ever. That is a myth. There has only been 6 helms or fragments of them that were discovered from the viking age and none of them had horns. if one could take anything positive from the capitol events, it has to be hearing sam harris saying "shirtless fucking viking" - absolutely priceslees. keep up with the great comments on politics, philosophy, culture, and everything else, sam.
I frankly think what takes the biscuit is Sam realising the far right are dangerous. Which is great, but as much as I love his commentary, you have to wonder how stupid a man can be. Was he so cosseted or is he on the spectrum to think that people are a direct reflection of their stated intentions (which is what he always fell back on)
What if those people don't care about being "of use" to people like Sam? Maybe they don't share a sense of progression to be worthy of their attention. I don't know how to respond to this other than, people gonna live how they want, and I don't judge one way or another.

If they really don't care, they should at least have the humility to keep that apathy to themselves, and not expect the likes of Sam Harris, or anyone else for that matter, to also practice such apathy by way of silence. The only reason these people find his political talk distasteful is because they disagree with him, because let's not be so stupid and naïve that we pretend here that these people don't have any political opinions of their own... Just because someone practices meditation, and even sports it around as an app, doesn't mean they have to be totally sanguine on every other issue out there in the world. This is a tricky one. Sometimes I 'care' and what do I do about it? WRITE A COMMENT IN A UA-cam COMMENTS SECTION. I mean, that's just sad. every single republican had condemm january 6th, they have 100 times. No matter how many times they do it the media will always say they some how supported it even though supposidly they were going to "hang mike pence". At the same time they say they came to over throw the election and mike pence was going to do it but pence said no. I wonder why they wowuldnt have cleared something like that ahead of time before storming the capitol. I wonder how the conversation went "Hey mike, i know we were just out there saying we wanted to hang you, but can u do us a favor and not certify this?" The whole entire narritve of what they are accusing the protesters of what happend is totaly bogus, it makes absolutely no sense. These people were protesting because of all the election interference, with the FBI working to cover up the hunter biden laptop a full scale effort using the tools of the national security apparatus to get their preferred candidate election. they concoted the scheme with the 50 intel agent letter at the debate that was bogus. They wanted them to delay the certification as is part of the certification process, these issues are handled by the congress. The main goal of the biden administration was to stop trump from running again so the corrupt part fo the government would never face accountability. In the constituion one of the only things that can disqualify you from being president is if you plan an issurection. Since there was a permitted protest they decided to use that as an opportunity, all they had to do was accuse the protesters of being domestic terrorists and of this absolutely bogus plan in which there was no evidence. It took 3 trails to convict the proud boys, their rights and due process were denied, the whole thing was a disgrace there was no evidence at all. It begs to ask, why was there no secuirty in the building when they knew there was a big protest. pelsois daughter showdd up with a film crew she seemed to know it was going to happen Trump had authorized upto 20k national gaurd troops, it was turned down by the DC mayor why on earth would he have done that if he wanted people to storm the capital. The people who did this have not gotten away with anything, they are accomplises in a criminal conspiracy that cost the lives or many people. I really hope the left one day figures out they are being lied to and the depth of those lies is bottomless. msnbc criticizes cnn for having trump on, they call it being a traitor, people on the right call it healthy debate listening to both sides. The left never will have people from the right on when they critcize them and give them a chance to give their side, their entire view depends on you not knowing the truth. If the left was telling the truth and right was lying they would be begging republicans to come on and debate, the inverse is true. Anyone that doesnt understand it by now is a moron, willfully ignorant. I know if people on the left were capable of critical thinking and could formulate their own conclusions through listening to both sides and determining them, they would agree with the right. We know this is true because they will never debate anyone they critcize on the right by the merrits of their arguments and views, never will they discuss the substance of the issues, they would loose everytime. Instead they censor, smear people, and double down on identity politics - racializing everything, demoralizing our youth convicning them that america is a hateful place and they are unwanted and will always be treated unfairly becaue of the color of their skin. @John Smith the difference is BLM protests were abused by assholes, who didn't care about the movent, to loot and burn etc. The Capitol rioters intended from the start to disrupt the democratic process, take hostages and kill pence. There was no protest.
@John Smith - This is an insane conflation and false comparison reflecting a partisan disconnection from all reality. From 25 to 30 million Americans (of all races, actually) engaged in street demonstrations in every major city in this country. The cause of this reaction was a breaking point from the endless cases of white officers killing unarmed blacks, as captured on video dozens of times over, including in just the last few years: shooting a man in his car next to his girlfriend, slowly strangling to death a man for selling cigarettes, shooting a child with a toy gun not even pointed at anyone, shooting a man repeatedly in the back and then planting a gun next to the body, and shooting a kid who was walking away, in the back, and then shooting his body which was flat on the ground an additional 15 times. Then of course the slow murder of Floyd, also done in front of multiple cameras because white cops knew none of these other incidents mattered in America. That is what those protests with all those millions of American participating was about, and yes there were a tiny fraction of people involved who committed crimes of looting and violence, by mathematical comparison an utterly minute fraction, and it was condemned. The causes of the sedition and terrorist insurrection at the Capitol had no moral component, but rather it was an attack on democracy and the Constitution driven in huge part by white nationalism and the Trump Death Cult. Even in the course of bringing justice to the these terrorists we immediately and yet again (again, again, again) see white privilege in the courts in its ongoing obscenity against basic decency and fairness: mobile.twitter.com/DerenicByrd/status/1352559036915310594 Trying to use that tiny percentage of those millions of Americans as comparable to Trump cultists and openly admitted racists engaged in violent acts of sedition and insurrection against our government, against democracy, including goals of killing even the Vice President, is the most idiotic kind of argument a person could ever attempt. Regarding that black cop at the Capitol: Report was that he had knowledge that the door to the chamber was unsecured where the rioters entered the building, so he was trying to lead the mob away from the unsecured chamber door. The cop is a hero.
@@pebblepod30 I think it was one of several doors. The rioters entered through several different doors. The chamber door at that one location was unsecured and the cop led the mob in the other direction.
I am hearing false information here, so I am not convinced this is either logical or wise, personally. First this was obviously not a coup, no-one was storming from what I could see, some of them probably acted inappropriately. It is not really a miracle that not more got killed, I am surprised any got killed to be honest. As I understand it people can enter the capital building, it is not illegal, true? Obviously a mob should be restrained, for the purpose of preventing chaos. I am not 100% aware of what actually happened. Was anything actually vandalized? I think there is no comparison with the BLM riots. The BLM riots were much worse from what I have seen, people being burned alive etc. That was terrible. The dictator in this case will be Biden, if you don't think that, then you will find out. Think about what side you are on when that happens (although I am sure that most of Sam's fans don't actually like Biden - I can only hope). When Biden issues a decree to give the dems absolute power then we will know. Maybe he won't, who knows? This podcast was absolutely mental from my point of view. I was quite surprised.
I agree with Sam's people who are talking about mindfulness and politics. They are the ones who are right here, and it is not about not caring about the world. I do think it is impossible for Sam to be completely mindful, at least for now. I like the fact that Sam does give everyone the benefit of the doubt, about making the "wrong point" about racialization. The black cop Sam was talking about, knew he was not going to die so he just backed off (fair enough the mob was probably extremely scary but they were not killers, even the BLM rioters for the most part are not killers). The fact that the cop is not dead is proof of that obviously. The claims of white supremacy are a cover for what the dems are about to do.... You do realize that, right? Last point, on Twitter, I could not disagree with Sam more. Twitter has been projected by section 230, and the government provided it with that to allow it to grow into a monopoly, and now the government protects it, so I cannot agree with Jack's actions, it is actually government action to silence critics. That is obvious. This pure fascism happening right in front of you all.
@@mike2carrington Glad someone said this because I just started listening and was thinking what?? How do you expect a successful coup if you're not even armed? Anyone who thinks this was a coup attempt is mental in my eyes. A handful of unarmed people vs. the entire US government? Maybe they're reading between the lines and are attributing it to Trump trying to manipulate his follows into taking action in numbers that meant it would be possible to make something happen (that's what I assume this is really about) but what transpired was not close to a coup, and from the side of the likes of Sam Harris it's a very uncharitable way of viewing Trump. I'm not entirely sure of the chain of events but I heard him say to peacefully protest so I don't think you can go after Trump. In my opinion this is just an effort to tarnish his reputation, from leftists that don't like his brand of politics and want to discourage people from following in his footsteps. He threatens the status quo, and in my eyes they see it as the lesser of two evils to lie about him, rather than risking what comes down the tracks (they think he's the next Hitler or something?). I could be wrong, but plenty of people have let the mask slip over Trump in the last 4 years. As for BLM, those riots were far worse. The capital hill rioters were a bunch of people who probably let things go too far, overstepped the mark and then goofed around in a place they shouldn't have been. I didn't know a cop was murdered with a fire extinguisher, if that's true it's unacceptable and the person/people responsible need to be thrown in jail, but the cops also murdered an unarmed woman so both sides did bad things. I think Trump makes people take leave of their senses, on both sides, and I really don't know why. In fairness though, I still think he makes some good points (literally right after I made this comment). I suppose it is a difficult situation for the police if rioters burst into a building. Elected officials lives should be equally valuable to any citizen in the country (not more valuable) but I suppose the police can't assume the mob are going to show restraint, so perhaps in hindsight the mob were largely not dangerous, but at the time you couldn't have treated them in that way.

If your meditation practice leads to beliefs that make you unable to engage politically, then you have cultivated improper aversion instead of any basic goodness.
Your point about mindfulness and how many seem to think it should imply a level of passive neutrality as the rest of the world charges off the face of a cliff (climate change; COVID-19; The rise of communism in the face of collapsing democratic capitalism, take your pick) is especially relevant to me. As a long time Yoga practitioner and teacher, one of the things that has generally kept me isolated from the greater community is the almost deafening silence from the vast majority of other teachers I know when it comes to these big-ticket issues. I've come to the conclusion that for the most part it is not enlightenment, but a fear of damaging their brand by saying anything even remotely controversial under the prevailing politics of the time, that keeps them silent. I've never been that guy. I'm looking for a better society. A place where people will hate less and love more, but I don't see how I can ever get to that place by being an inauthentic coward, too afraid to face into the biggest issues of our time.
Too many people use meditation as a drug to escape reality instead of using it as a way to become a better person, and ultimately, to make the world a better place. Those "spiritual" people are no better than the religion-opiate masses who are blissed out on Jesus or whatever who are contributing to a terrible world.
@@NoActuallyGo-KCUF-Yourself I think it is the easier way. You can't make mistakes if you just opt out, which you absolutely will make, and continue to make, in the struggle to grow and learn about what it means to be human, and what it might mean to be a better one. It's an unfortunate truth that the greatest lessons I've ever learnt were from the worst mistakes -the ones that broke things beyond any hope of repair. And even then, the learning part is still optional and far from guaranteed.

This was the first time I've ever listened to Sam Harris, I must say I am impressed. He is the voice of reason and so articulate. I will definitely follow now. Thank you for the great pod cast 😊
He is doing nothing of the sort. You can hear it in his tone that he weakly criticizes and simultaneously minimizes the narrative of the left so as to come off as balanced. He is a walking example of TDS which is why he projects so hard against it. There is nothing wrong with that, if he would just own it.
The fact that anyone can take offense to anything that Sam said here demonstrates the fact that the US has certainly become the world's biggest nut factory.
What I like most about Sam is he calls out stupidity when he sees it. We should be able to rise above group think. The power of a mob is what we saw that day.
Keep the moment going she said. Also after two months of "mostly peaceful" protests.....if they all keep ending in rioting and looting and in some cases murder do you as a "mostly peaceful" protestor not bear some responsibility at that point??
Sam, your monologues (and scathing criticisms of Trump) are hilarious & just keep getting better & better! Keep them coming ;) On a serious note though, I do really admire how you fearlessly share your opinions in such an articulate and unapologetic way. We definitely need more of this! - P.s Can something please do a mashup of all of Sam's criticisms of Trump. This would be awesome!
That black cop story is actually heroic as he mislead the mob away from occupied offices when he realized he was solo he cat-called and distracted them.
You are absolutely correct in identification of the media (and politicians) as culpable in this fiasco. All done to serve their personal/corporate needs.
You really think so? I don't think they would feel differently if Trump himself had slung Pence up on the gallows on the front steps. Nothing is too far for this group.
@@LiemV94 they caused billions of dollars of destruction including government buildings. Dozens of death and was praised and left unchecked by Democrats and praised by CNN like Sam said. They enabled a defense for this. If that never happened people would feel different.

Thank you Sam. Been waiting to hear from you. You have expressed what I think much better than anyone I’ve heard so far. I like you in all your modes. Please carry on. We need you and your clarity of thought.
@@pluckyduck11y Did you listen to _any_ of the video? You can criticize BLM at the same time as realizing that the Capitol riots were absolutely fucking disgusting. You seem to be happily waving goodbye to the United States simply because of false dichotomies.
@@sb_dunk Who said I wasn't disgusted with what happened at the Capitol? "Waving goodbye to the United States"? Dude, I'm pointing out the plain and inherent hypocrisy in what Sam is saying. His argument is that even those who say both things are bad are still somehow trivializing the Capitol riot, which ironically is Sam's way of trivializing the 2020 riots. Sam is actually trying to argue that the Capitol riots were somehow demonstrably, categorically worse. It's nonsense. By every conceivable metric or standard, the 2020 riots were orders of magnitude worse. Saying "yes but both are bad" is a non-issue. Put it in the trash because no one here is arguing otherwise. OF COURSE both are bad. But inherent to Sam's argument (that those citing the 2020 riots are trivializing the Capitol riot), is Sam's own trivializing of the 2020 riots. He's guilty of the very thing he's accusing others of, and he doesn't even know it, because he's so perverted by TDS. If we could control for political bias, no one in their right mind could argue the Capitol riot was even remotely as bad as the 2020 riots. And what makes this distinction so critically paramount is that the 2020 riots PRECIPITATED the Capitol riot. What we saw last year was the worst, most destructive and violent riots in at least a generation, if not half a century. And what we heard from MSM was "it's mostly peaceful." And what we woke up to on Nov 4th was the rude awakening that the violent side won. Violence was rewarded. Not just the marginal violence like what we saw in 2016, when Trump had to cancel a rally at a major city due to opposition violence, and still ended up winning DESPITE violence. This was historic, unparalleled violence and terrorism against civilians, small businesses, and yes, your precious federal property too. For Christ's sake these people set a church ablaze. DC was literally on fire for several blocks in multiple directions. So if this is what gets rewarded in 2020, why should anyone be the least bit surprised when just 1% of that is mirrored by the opposite side that has just been disenfranchised, after being dehumanized and vilified for years by the MSM? Precedent matters.
@@pluckyduck11y I'm glad you agree that the riots were wrong, many people were fine with it. When we talk about the capitol riot, talking about the 2020 riots doesn't add anything to the "analysis". Yes, the 2020 riots went on longer, were more destructive and more violent at times. Yes, outlets like CNN played it down and justified it. The thing that makes the capitol riot more terrifying to me is the idea that people are willing to violently overturn a democratic election based on the false claims being peddled by the most powerful man in the United States. These riots were driven by the idea of fraud more than being "precipitated" by the 2020 riots, they probably served as ammunition. The fact that you think Nov 4 signalled a win for the extreme left is just wrong. Sam says it here that Biden and Harris explicitly condemned the violence, although not as forcefully as they could have done. You never hear about this though if you just listen to Fox, Shapiro, Rubin, Crowder etc. In fact, many on the hard left found Biden to be too centrist, so again, not a win for those loons. And the democrats performed poorly in the house, which is where the fringe have any say. When you accuse Sam of having TDS, you're immediately dismissing anything that is critical of Trump, as it can only be explained by personal hatred of him. You need to start holding this man accountable for his actions.
@@sb_dunk Precedent matters. Yes, the 2020 riots would be irrelevant if MSM and the establishment which control the dominant narrative did not just spend the last 6 months exhausting an already hurting nation with apologetics for the most violent riots in over a generation. The Capitol riot is an entirely predictable outgrowth of this outrageous hypocrisy and exploitation. Would it have happened if the 2020 riots had not? We will never know, but I would bet almost everything against it. Precedent matters. I credit Sam for acknowledging that Biden/Harris disavowing the violence was too tepid, but he fails to address the far greater concern. That Biden/Harris gave cheap lip service to condemning violence is completely demolished by the fact that they BAILED OUT RIOTERS. Such outrageously disparate double standards being messaged by the most powerful voices in America that dominate the MSM cannot stand. It's untenable. It provokes only more hostility. We do not achieve equality by showing favoritism for the most violent riots in generations. Meanwhile, Biden/Harris and the corrupt establishment and MSM raked Trump over the coals for not condemning Proud Boys harshly enough. WTF did Proud Boys even do all year? Not even 1% the harm that Antifa/BLM rioters did. Not even 1 fucking percent. But Trump is the fascist for disavowing it, but not vociferously enough? When the fuck did Biden vociferously condemn Antifa or the 2020 rioters in general? HE BAILED THEM OUT. Imagine Trump bailing out Proud Boys! The Capitol riot would have been a catastrophic massacre, an all out blood bath if Trump showed the same preferential treatment, special dispensation, and outright favoritism for the far-right agitators that Biden/Harris and MSM has shown the far-left extremists. And I am not "immediately dismissing anything critical of Trump" by pointing out TDS where it is expressly and abundantly manifest. I have been criticizing Trump since 2015. I have been critical ever since. I actually have a leg to stand on here. My point is that these arguments ring hollow due to the staggering hypocrisy, mainly from MSM and the establishment who control the dominant narrative. Sam is not the worst, but he's blinded by the same thing.
Sam, thank you! You are SO right! The "over-reach" on the left just makes matters worse with the "right" who are not complete nut jobs! I have family who are not QAnon, but, are super conservative. I am a moderate Dem. But, I SEE how the "left" with their identity politics just fuels the cynicism and anger of the right. Trying to find some middle ground is the only way for the country to try and move forward a bit! Thank you once again for making me feel sane and a bit hopeful!

Your honesty and your sense of reason is what brought us all here. Now you have revealed your mortal self and many of us are not coming back. Trump language the preceding days had a lot to do with why those people did what they did. He didn't explicitly say kill anyone. But a criminal never does. Michael Cohen even said that.

I hope today people have figued out this was a huge fuckking scam, and i hope you detract your comment after realizing what was done to these innocent people is disgusting. That they would lock up innocent people some upto 20 years to advance a political interest. I hope these people one day are able to see justice. There is no such thing as personal responsibility, nothign is ever your fault, its always the fault of some external system. Its the left that is slowly destroying our country, it is not the right, they are the only good thing going on right now in this country.

Elitist public officials should never feel threatened by the little people - the bar owner can cower under his bar as the mob riots, but to think Pelosi - with her pomp and ceremony - should have to worry about *her* security in DC... perish the thought. Ofinfinitejest #angrywhitelivesmatter
Even in the course of bringing justice to the these terrorists we immediately and yet again (again, again, again) see white privilege in the courts in its ongoing obscenity against basic decency and fairness:
mobile.twitter.com/DerenicByrd/status/1352559036915310594
Trying to use that tiny percentage of those millions of Americans as comparable to Trump cultists and openly admitted racists engaged in violent acts of sedition and insurrection against our government, against democracy, including goals of killing even the Vice President, is the most idiotic kind of argument a person could ever attempt. And you did that.

He said he was just being a journalist but last time I checked journalists don't shout "get him!". But hey I guess it was Trump who incited him wasn't it? I mean that's the power of Trump isn't it? To get even BLM/ANTIFA activists to participate in a "coup". Guess we will have to ban ANTIFA/BLM members and supporters from all SM platforms, no fly lists, cancelled health insurance, etc now won't we?
This is something I don't thonk Sam doesn't fully appreciates due to his bias towards Trump that there has been 4 years of incitement of violence from the antitrumpers with hash tags, like "#assinatetrump" and "#killTrump" that are still present and have trended a few times during this time. Plays that show Trump getting gang stabbed, comedians showing a fake beheaded Trump, but who am I kidding these aren't incitments to violence are they, they're just freedom of expressions.
And this is what has disgusted me most of all is the sheer hypocrisy and contradiction of those who have encouraged violence when it's their own but condemn when it's not.

Finally, someone with logic and wisdom. I thank you Sam
@@mike2carrington Sam is full blown insane. I can’t believe the words I hear coming from his ass. I used to look up to him as a voice of reason. Donald Trump broke him.

He’s not denying fraud really. He’s just stating that there wasn’t any.

Seems pretty positive here on UA-cam anyway
He is doing nothing of the sort. You can hear it in his tone that he weakly criticizes and simultaneously minimizes the narrative of the left so as to come off as balanced. He is a walking example of TDS which is why he projects so hard against it. There is nothing wrong with that, if he would just own it.
This may all be a brilliant plan to make Mexico pay for that wall after all.

The fact that anyone can take offense to anything that Sam said here demonstrates the fact that the US has certainly become the world's biggest nut factory.

If it wasn’t for the BLM riots more people would feel very different about this. That’s why people aren’t taking this as seriously.
You really think so? I don't think they would feel differently if Trump himself had slung Pence up on the gallows on the front steps. Nothing is too far for this group.
@@drewroberts139 ya. If the DeMs had condemned BLM riots there would be no comparison here. It would just be wrong.

He only chose to hurt us with the other intro to make us appreciate this one even more.
It hurt back then but looking back now, it was a necessary and good pain.
We should also be glad that he didn't pick the banjo song from Deliverance instead.
Amen brother. The original and current intro is far more “on brand” for Sam.
The original intro played backwards sounds dope also.

I follow the Constitution and uphold the rights written by the founders.
"Sometimes things happen for bad fucking reasons". Yep, been saying that for months.
