Haha thanks! Oliver and I agreed that this bit didn't fit the laid-back platforming section it was written for, so the whole track was slowed down, the intensity pulled back, and that high-octane ending section replaced with a more mysterious and calm one. I preserved it for posterity:)
Hooooly. This is the good stuff. This style gives the first game a fantastic vibe and these are so perfect...but you've already heard that a thousand times. Fist thing's first - My favorite of these is Lightning Lullabye. I do wish I were a composer like you and Oliver, cos then my own fan projects would be SO MUCH easier. I mean, music can say Free on the tin, but then the creator can sneakily retract that, or UA-cam can just screw you over by saying it's some other song you've never heard of. What I'm saying is, I admire your skills and I hope you guys go far into the MIDI OST genre. Games like Starfighter 3000 need a do-over with their admittedly aged OSTs and I cannot wait to see what you guys pull out of your hats next, even if you keep to R&C which would still be amazing. Heaven knows we need more Bergeau style around. Side note. The fact there is genuine emotion here shows just how much heart was put into this. And yeah i just wrote a confusing ramble, but it all just boils down to: Keep it up. You're awesome.
Thank you so much! Oliver did an amazing job creating this game, and I was very fortunate to get to make all of the music for it, leading to a lot of other projects reaching out, so hopefully I'll be scoring a lot more in future! I do it all for free because it's just a fun hobby really. Did you check out the final tracks the made it into the game?
@@xotlagames I have. I adore them so much. I was even surprised to discover that the R&C 1 stereo mix was done by you. That's been my fav video for months. I was gonna get into music cos I got a good idea about rhythm and time, but my software had a hidden trial end date so I couldn't use it, not even the free version. Then I moved PCs and lost it and any other software I was trying to use (I should've stuck with FL Studio when I had the chance). So, I've relied on old game OSTs that have become...sort of Public Domain cos their respective dev companies have died or disowned the games. Bit risky, but...only choice I have.
i really enjoyed playing through the Premature Release, and i think these tracks fit the game so well, they're really cool! thank you for sharing these! i love how you managed to keep in line with the PS2 games' soundtracks and still produce unique and original songs. i think HVAC Havoc is my favourite, although Tempest Conquest has a very cool Spyro-esque vibe~
Hey, this is really awesome! It really captures the classic feel of the PS2 era games. I could tell that a lot of love went into making it. I recently did a playthrough on my channel if you’re interested.
Cheers! I use Reaper (a digital audio workstation, DAW) to compose/mix/master the track in, but you can really use any (ableton, cubase, fl studio, protools, garageband/logic pro, all popular and perfectly fine from what I know). I primarily use Kontakt for virtual instruments (orchestral instruments I can't just record myself), but there are plenty of free vst instruments available to download too if you go looking, and install them in your DAW. I also record some of my own sounds (electric guitar, bass and sound effects) and in this case used pre-recorded drum samples which are pretty easy to hunt down as well, these largely being from the X-Static Goldmine discs as used in the original RaC OST. Happy music making!
How is there a whole fan game with the vibes in the OST of the original and this is the first I'm hearing about it??? Did they make ratchet slightly edgey again? That's all I really want, he's supposed to be badass.
The stereo remaster was a fun project to work on, but was quite literally something I spent maybe a couple of afternoons on just to have a crack at it. It was never intended to be a serious proper remaster, just something to listen to while we wait for a possible official remaster which there were rumors of at the time. It's unfortunately not a project I'll be returning to.
@@xotlagames 😢 It's just that a lot of people were really interested in downloading some specific tracks and listening to them because they sound so good, myself included among some of that people. They really sound great and it's a shame we ain't getting them as individual songs. You sure you don't wanna share them audio files?
The original product consisted of a string of AI separated stems, dumped into a session and duct-taped together with minimal processing. They were all processed as one lot, hence why some tracks are unbalanced as the AI did a pretty poor job separating some tracks' instruments resulting in many being clustered in one spot in the stereo field. It was more of an experiment than a true attempt at remastering every track individually. Someone, I can't recall who, took inspiration from my idea and went back and remastered each track individually using the same technique but with much more attention to detail than me, I'd definitely recommend hunting them down (possibly mentioned in the comments of that video?). They have most of the soundtrack available individually iirc. I'd personally prefer to leave the project alone so as not to cause any copyright dramas :)
Hello, Great job. Am I allowed to use any of his music in a making-of video for a 3D animation competition? 🙄 You will be credited in the description of the video. Thank you
Damn I thought this was actual unused music from an older R&C game 😂 that jsut shows how good it is. Y’all nailed the vibe
It's really David Bergeaudish 🤯
David Bergeaud's R&C soundtracks are wicked sick. Thank you for making this, happy new year!
Oh man... Lightning Lullaby hits a bit differently... Amazing work !
You absolutely nailed the style, this is kick ass! This is the first I've heard of the game, definitely checking it out
Yes definitely do! The music will be in the next update. The game really captures the RaC atmosphere quite well
You really caught the vibe of the R&C trilogy era. Well done, sir!
2:50 How on Earth did music this incredible end up unused?
fr

Outstanding work! I wish the premature release was still being worked on to become a mature release :(
This is really incredible stuff, amazing work! You would never guess this wasn't official RaC music. You perfectly matched the style!
oh the jazz of "Tempest Conquest" daymn
Oh this is FANTASTIC ive been dying for more stuff like the R&C1 OST... And THERES A FANGAME WITH IT TOO??? Thank you R&C fans!
Lighting Lullaby is The Best 👌
Thank you very much for doing this, I finished the demo, I love it, I look forward to any update :)

oh the bangers

holly shit where did u find this :O didnt know about this unused ost !!!
It's unused from a ratchet fan-game, not from an official game. Music by me, inspired by David Bergeaud :)

Platforming Plateau is the best here.
yeah, this should be added in the newer games, just IT should BE!
Whoaaaa insane. These are awesome
I really thought it was a nickname for the beta of the first game.
That is aweeesome
First one sounds like the Annihilation Nation challenge selection area if Ratchet was a Tiktok kid
Truly a sentence i never thought I'd read
nice
I feel like the logo shouldn't use the 2 shape since you know that's specifically for the second game
incredible
This shits so good, what software do you use man? I'm interested in getting into trying some stuff like this myself :)

Thank you though, I appreciate that people have enjoyed the remasters nonetheless
Have you ever thought of putting your music on Spotify?
Is platforming plateau a remix of novalis theme
No, although it uses similar motifs to a bunch of rac1 tracks :)

Absolutely, go for it! The downloads are in the description.
@@xotlagames Thank you very mutch ! =) =D
Estas canciones son de la Trilogía Original? o son del Fan Game que no se usaron? Porque parecen muy originales
They were tracks originally written for the fan game, not from any of the official games. I'm glad they sound similar :)
