This was a young polar bear, more curious than hungry. The young bear wasn't territorial hence to why he didn't show much signs of agression. You can see the bear slightly frustrated but I think it's because he wasn't able to get as close as he wanted to find out what that smell was. Young black bear shows us the same behavior in national Parks. I lived in Jasper national park in Canada. Had many encounters with wildlife. But please.... never turn your back to predators. They will see you as prey.
Any animal will run away if you show em agressive behaviour, it has happened even with elephants, you can search all over UA-cam. But of course you can also get unlucky
The polar bear wasn’t that hungry to risk injury and the reason it fears him is because he’s enacting predator like behavior, standing his ground and in a sense chasing away any from his “territory” therefore it’s identifies the man as another potentially dangerous predator but it’s curiously incites it to persist on analyzing the situation laid out.
Not really, this one is young, playful and not very territorial yet. Any of these factors change and this photographer would either have to be real quick with a shotgun or flare or he'd be winter supplies
These creatures are literally one of the few animals that view humans as an actual food source instead if a weird bipedal threat. They will hunt you down even if you don't do anything to them unlike other bears
@Astera Nightshade It's more that we know ourselves better than polar bears do. Predators tend to be cautious when they're uncertain unless they're hungry enough.
Believe it or not the bear wasn’t spooked by the man screaming, it was actually the sound of his massive balls of steel clashing together that scarred it off.
This was a young bear, no giant by any means. And seems he was not desperate for food. Chilling encounter nevertheless but you need to use the correct terms
If that polar bear knew how weak that man was the man would be dead I seconds the only thing keeping him alive was that hissing sound and lack of knowledge
Photographer: "Just stay there! I need to take a whole body shot, you idiot! I keep getting your nose. I only have 500mm lens." Bear: "I just want to see the shots"
I cant find the video that had a small clip of a russian arctic explorer in the 1970s who ran at polar bears and always acared them away, he had 100-200 encounters and it always worked for him. I thought his name qas popov. I cookie to anyone who can find that clip ❤
Polar bear walks up to photographer The photographer: Hey Hey Hey..Hey Stop it Stop it Polar bear: OK 1 minute later: shows up again Maybe the polar bear was just frustrated looking for a smell I guess it doesn't look hungry
Yeah. Its better to chase them off than actually letting them get near. Its better if they get scared from humans. Because these fellas get hunted for their furs by illegal hunters.

regguy69 all animals have a natural fear of humans. That bear had no intentions of attacking another predator that showed no fear of it.
@@Idontwantahandle6669 not true. Polar bears have been seen preying on humans countless times. They're thought to be our only surviving predator
@@xtremej2575 u right but lmao only surviving predator what bout lions?
roast ed nah we can take a lion in a fight
@@BrianbebeGamingppl could not take a lion in a fight 😂😂
The bear was actually being pulled towards him from the gravitational pull of the those massive balls
Hes lucky that one was playful and not hungry
True, that was one hell of a lucky bear, it's rare to find a Russian like this
@@ThatGuy-ix6te you have no idea how hard I just laughed

WHEN THE COLD BREW HITS
"Vat do yo vant, apex prredatorr? Shoo, go away, yor in my shot".
Not even polar bears can beat russians in winter.
Wunderbar
Finns gave them what they asked for (massive casualties) in Winter War.
Isn't that a german accent?
😆
Finnish in winter: hold my koshken
Imagine if he started chasing him off and the bear stops when the guy ran two steps too many. The thought gives me anxiety
In Soviet Russia, you chase bear
In Canada, you give him a coke and watch the game
In America you dont do anything because we dont have polar bears
but not polar bear
@@LuhDunc In America you train him to use a semi-automatic rifle

the polar bear was lucky that she survived getting really close to russian man
This is the training video for "Camera Man Never Dies."
"How tf is he standing on his legs??" Was probably what ran through his mind and it freaked him out
This man is literally crazy dedicated...
He needs a raise.
In Russia, chasing bears is like taking out garbage!
The more you show courage the less polar bears in the world will see you as dinner
Not really, this one is young, playful and not very territorial yet. Any of these factors change and this photographer would either have to be real quick with a shotgun or flare or he'd be winter supplies
What would happen if you threw a snowball at it? Would it throw one back?
Well I suppose it could form a snowball out of the skull that it just tore apart from your body
I think the real bear was behind the Camera, or at least the much bigger one !!
Power of Psychology over physical strength and appearance
Polar bear: you want to film me, but you chase me away?
Legend says, if you show them a tic toc they will die of cringe.

That polar bear has guts facing off the most dangerous animal on the planet called human.
They literally the only animal in the world that actively view humans as food

Young bear. An adult wouldn’t have backed off.
That looks like a young one, definitely not a full grown adult
If you encounter a bear in the wild the best thing to do is turn kick your mate in the nuts and then run as fast as you can.
1:13 Just imagine trying to scare a fellow human like that
@Astera Nightshade It's more that we know ourselves better than polar bears do. Predators tend to be cautious when they're uncertain unless they're hungry enough.
I think The bear taught he is another bear and wanted 2 play, or just mating season 🥺 so cute tho
Bro came from russia
Believe it or not the bear wasn’t spooked by the man screaming, it was actually the sound of his massive balls of steel clashing together that scarred it off.
Still.. he was lucky the bear looked quite well fed. It was just not that desperate.
I too, would be extremely scared, when a camera will gravitate towards me.
That’s terrifying, I’m glad the polar bear survived
He clearly wants to give his approval before being tagged on Facebook. :)
1:55 he looked at him like yo chill

He just wants one of your sardines! Lol, super cute!
Polar bears are the on bear that might really just eat you. this would be terrifying.
Polar bears are ruthless. Dude must’ve been Finnish to scare it off like that
balls.... of.... steel!
Can someone tell me why the bear is bobbing around his head so much?
That bear was lucky that man was feeling nice.
If that polar bear knew how weak that man was the man would be dead I seconds the only thing keeping him alive was that hissing sound and lack of knowledge
Russian again?
Photographer: "Just stay there! I need to take a whole body shot, you idiot! I keep getting your nose. I only have 500mm lens."
Bear: "I just want to see the shots"
this guy is the mega chad
Clearly a cub. Half the size of an adult .
Plot twist, the bear didn't go hungry to bed
I am betting on this getting recommended one day.
the polar bear backed off when she realized its russian
I don’t think that’s an adult maybe but that bear doesn’t want to be too clouse to a human it’s not scared
He is russian thats is the normal things, the bear scared him
I watch this at 2x speed and the bear's moves look funny LOL made me forget that its one of world top predator
That bear looked pretty chubby indicating it probably wasn't that hungry. Probably just curious. Wouldn't try this with a thin looking/hungry bear.

Not fearless, just Russian.
Same thing
The bear was testing the limits, Ik you gotta get the photo but if you don’t fully scare it away the first time, you run the risk of it attacking
It sounds like hes blowing out a snot rocket
That poor bear just wanted to be friends
The lake behind him probably went up hill at some point if you catch may meaning ):
I didn't catch it
Balls of steel covered in snow .. ❄
That bear is constantly photo bombing this poor photographer's shot! How rude!
Bro he should've just taken a snowball and threw at the ground near the bear
Polar Bear: " that's ok..I'm still gonna fix his ass...see ya tonight Bi+ch..."
What if he was just trying to overcome his social anxiety :(
"Perkele, perkele!"
The bear was just interested in the lens he was running that’s all
Damn those are some big balls. His mistake though is turning his back
Aly Rose Yes, but bear was far from him and looked intimidated by the man.
So many experts in the comments section. And this video has way too few views, this reality sucks
Ozzy man reviews needs to do something with this..
Hes lucky this was a curious polar bear and not a hungry one or he would have been eaten alive.
This goes against everything I’ve learned from casual geographic guess it wasn’t hungry lol
When he spoke russian it made sense 😂
All he wanted was a bottle of cola
Man Scares Bear!
No, YOU were too close. You pretty much testing an 800lb carnivore.....
Of course the bear will be scared, the guy is bigger and larger than it. People got too much fear.
Poor bear
He just wanted a nice professional taken picture for his "Bearble" or "BearDer" account
Where your sea bear circle
He just wanted to pet him
At the end the bear came from back. The end.
Of course it’s a Russian man
These creatures are very dangerous and sneaky and scary bear was lucky he ran

Yeah. Its better to chase them off than actually letting them get near. Its better if they get scared from humans. Because these fellas get hunted for their furs by illegal hunters.
I think the bear thought it was a possible mate due to colour and size. This type of playful behaviour is common while qourting females
PHotographer was "packin`" ....so no worries...even though he might have to empty the whole clip to get any effect unless HS
