I'm a bit new to Vanguard and this is a little random but I've been messing around with Flagburg and Maelstrom on CFV Dear Days, I have all the main dlc aside from DBT-09. As I've been practicing with those 2 decks I can easily get to the four or five attacks needed to trigger the vanguards ability. But the payoff for doing so seems quite lack luster :( Idk it seems like they should be really good but it always feels like both of those vanguards fall flat for me. Is there something I'm missing? Any advice would be helpful :) Edit: Thank you for the replies everyone! I really thought I was going crazy with how poor the payoffs felt for both decks. Glad to know that's not the case! I'm planning to get set 9 when I have the money available and I'll try that Mushroom card when I get it but until then thanks for all of the advice :)
As originally a flagburg main, the deck's main issue is that its power ceiling is so cripplingly low despite most decks catching up to it in terms of attacks, along with literally everything in the deck requiring soul that you just don't have. Getting access to set 9 might help you, as a card meant for granfia called Burrowing Mushrooms helps your soul issues, while also providing you with early aggression. I think the only thing flagburg can do to compete right now is be as low to the ground as possible and hope to blow them up by t3/4 and hope they don't defensive trigger. The new rr revealed for the newest jp set looks to help all of his current issues so we'll see where he goes from here :)
not really, the main problem is just they are not as good as some other decks that you can play in the game in the sense that they are both slower decks who does alot to not get much in return, for example flagburg need you to atk 5 times to reap the max reward and maelstrom has a similar thing going, versus some other decks like Chronojet having much more power and more filters isnt much of a contender for best deck, TLDR is that those 2 decks are just not as g as some other decks
The main issue with those are as follows: Flagburg: despite decent draws and a high amount of attacks, the attacks are kind of small and have high costs. Maelstrom: Lacks card draw and power and the attacks are to inconsistent. If you like those gameplay styles of decks and are looking for something cheap, I recommend MYGO. If you like the artwork a lot, Flagburg is the better of the 2. Hope this helps!
So happy seeing my Infinite dragon making top cut, even with that slight misplay at the end. Can't wait for set 4 to hit the US! Curious how your able to use video game bgm in your vids though, I'd love to branch out from the royalty free stuff I usually use.
Honestly i feel levidras has be slept on like it can it hard when it has the right price and triggers plus this match the heal the levidras help him that turn keep damaged low and keep cards in hand
One of the big things we all mistake about Leviadras is that it's a turn 4 deck because we all think "oh you need to use the divine skill on Turn 4" but why? We just saw what the deck does on Turn 3 if you use the divine skill. Instant speed up.
Divine Skill only works if your opponent has a grade 3 vanguard. So in reality it's like the stride decks- wants to go 2nd because going 1st delays it's combo to turn 4.
@@rwtheoverlord2896 The g3 first is an advantage, but that's kinda the main problem with this deck overall- it has very good cards, but very little in terms of an early game, and shares it's niche with the stride decks, which are able to push for damage harder than Levidras can. If Levi's destined king version(and it's support) is either able to make your turn 4 damage pushes stronger, or give you a way to set up 3 markers on board just 1 turn faster, then I can see this deck becoming a meta threat. Otherwise it'll stay in the rogue category. Edit: Yeah, King gave it the 3 markers turn 3 upgrade, and the new cards for the deck are cracked. Results from the first week are showing it as a tier 1 threat. Called it.
Okay I could be wrong here, but just to check at 19:25- for that Elementaria vs Aquas, would her skill of 2 or more to guard from hand not proc? I know for elementaria on a Grade 4 it's typically free, but Aquas skill still procs on other PG's. Does it not on Elementaria? Appreciate the explanation in adavance ❤
The guard restrict of Aquas and a lot of other similar effect is 2 or more to guard when call from hand in G circle, but elementaria being a blitz order it is not called and instead played in order zone.
Ahh okay that makes sense! Thank you both so much! It's gonna be my first regionals coming up so I know technicalities like that are gonna be important!
I feel like tristar misplayed by not calling Muna during his last term when he was building his board. He had more than enough soul to work with. She's only a 5k shield in hand. Calling her down and then using her effect when his opponent called things out of the prison. Would have drawn him into another violet. Even with hindsight not playing apart. Still drawn into a bigger shield.
shouldnt the g2 Anotogaster attack when the player has 3 markers on his side of the field? not sure how it can attack on turn 3 already w 2 markers set on the levidras players field
As far as I understand, Anotogaster only says you need to have 3 infinity markers on the field which since it is only the field I interpret it doesn't need to have all the 3 infinity markers on your side to use its back-row attack skill.
yes i think Levirdras is very strong just require more thinking but it balance of offense and defense honsteely i think it fitting card to be leader of destined ones lol.
Levidras truly needs all the big brain strategies to pull off his crazy combo,Grandpa levi need you to commit
Stoichea been eating so good. Can’t wait to play levidras at the end of October.
Ohhhh and this is a few days after the destined king! I wonder how Levidras empireo will shake up deck! Will the king give levidras a big time boost?
if they also give levidras a searcher for the g3
I am just worry about base levi's price when set 4 comes out in EN because uhhhhh.... it might be BAD
Love the pokemon music in the background

those two aren't in the higher tiers of viability
