I would build Deadman’s plate or Trailblazer first if you wanted to be aggressive and play for roams. In case you want to play full support, Locket/Knights Vow into Redemption is a good option. A lot of flexibility in the support upgrade. Could go the shield one, the sled one or the spellblade one. Aftershock or Guardian is best keystone I think. Ulti hunter in secondary.

When I first started playing the game (I'm a season 1 player), the first champion I played was Shen. Of course, I was so unfamiliar with the game that I kept making stupid moves :) Whenever I go solo, I play either shen or rumble. I think there is also Galio who can change the fate of the game as much as Shen. Shen is life, the rest is excitement. (Turkish statement :))
Was just starting to run out of Petu content!! My Shen learnings have been proceeding swimmingly, but I'm not ready to take him into ranked yet. I've lost insanely hard vs a Tristana yesterday in Mid lane it ruined my entire self esteem because it's been going great so far.
Hey Petu, could you show some games where you/your team get absolutely stomped in laning phase and explain how to maximise your game impact for a win? Would really help in super low elo where your entire team have very little game knowledge post laning phase.
Eventually what shen does great if played correctly with his early strength and ultis later on is denying games to get extremely out of hand preventing plays that enemies try to do. You will notice that the more you play shen. But for those games that are really really tough i as a master shen player myself could recommend two things. Focus on helping the person in your team that could potentially be the one carrying by ulting him and especially persevering his mental maybe by typing or giving him the kills instead of taking them as a shen. And second try out aggressive ults on plays that might lead to your team getting important shutdowns. Since you are behind anyway and you dont need to protect your teams shutdown your aim should be to catch the enemy unguarded and ulting a teammate while they are fighting isolated from the others. Always use your pings to communicate to your team your plans (this will work more the higher you climb bit ive done this more than enough in bronze games on a smurf acc) and try to figure out when the right timing is for you to ult and the enemy has committed to the fight without be able to back out. This can be the important dash abilities being use offensively on your ally and so on. Hope this helps :)
@@alexkat1555 Oh absolutely and thanks for the advice. At the moment in Gold i'm experiencing teammates literally running and flashing away from fights with the shen ult shield so I really don't know how to influence games when my ultimate is doing absolutely nothing, even if I'm destroying my lane (which i'm playing mid and is often the case). It seems like nobody even responds to a shen ult. When ult is down they just int despite spam pinging my ult coldown and 'back off' pings. It's incredibly frustrating. It's not the shen gameplay thats the issue, it's the fact that post-laning phase the entire team just pursues fights that serve absolutely no purpose, often with no vision (wards) or vision of the enemy team and then it's just 1v5 until they respawn. Otherwise they just fight instead of going for objectives for no reason despite constant pings. It feels impossible to win games when your team just runs it down over and over and gives shutdowns and objective bounties as soon as laning phase is over.
I understand i get the same responses from my friends who are in plat and emerald and say the same thing that you often cant rely on your team to play it decently smart. Two more tipps from me would be the following: consider duo Queue with a friend that likes to play carry champs and focus on ulting and defending him. Preferably not an adc but an bruiser jungler. I used to play with a friend of mine who mained lethality vi and was able to oneshot evrybody even in late game. And each time he overextanded he would get the ult and we would stomp even harder. It reached a point where he got so used to the way i play with the shen ult and w and so on that it felt like we were inside of each others brain while fighting. Thats the best way of getting the best use of your Champs kit in lower elos. And the other thing is to not get frustrated bc you have to understand people in gold and above just have not played enough games to understand how a random shen ult can be utilised optimally in the fight and do a full 180 in the heat of the moment. So stay cool if you improve you will eventually climb and remeber since your team doesnt know how to react to a shen ult the enemies dont do either be more patient wait till they really committed to the fight and they wont expect a shen popping up. If you watch petus videos youll learn when to ult so did i. :)
@@lukemwill99 i blacklist them and never ult again :D There is always someone who smart enought to carry you middle of the enemy. Or heroes like Katarina or Yone never disappoints. Screw the adc :D Most important thing i learn from xPetu, i never ult to save 300 gold, if i use my ult it should worth at least 750 gold.
2:12:20 I think we both admire the work and get jealous. admiring the work(it is my top pressing side) gives me a lift as if I've done the outplay. but the other part of me also contributes, now I wanna do a speedster build on yasuo for example and I am cooking the ideas in my head- I feel like I can do better and when I finally find some good tech it doubles the satisfaction basically
how much you charge for Shen coaching? I used to main Shen but over the last 2 yr I have struggled with my game on him and cant seem to get it to the dominant position I used to. Also had a good year or so I did not play LOL in that time period. Anyways if you do any coaching lmk, ive watched many of ur videos and always think ok I got this then go to play and it all falls apart haha considering giving up shen and just do trynd ali and thresh as they are my other mains
greetings petu, after following your guide from last video I had great success with the build path and ignite in top lane. I then went midlane and lost 3 times very hard. (I am in gold 1 for reference). Should I just go back to top lane to play safe, with the matchups I know? Or should I stick to mid lane shen? Mid lane shen is probably better in higher ELO, but I am low elo. Love your content bro
I'm no expert by any means, but, when it comes to skill building, the hardest part is at the beginning. Keep at it! You're still right at the start! If you need to, look over your replays and check your spacing. Spacing is one of, if not, the most important factor for winning duels in mid. After that, it's all about learning the matchups. I'm rooting for you, bud :D
@@Adam-jl6cs thank you for your reply!! I will take what you said into consideration and keep practicing with shen in the midlane. But I will perhaps practice in unranked first, so as to not lose any more LP :) glhf
Midlane shen enjoyer here! I think that you just need to adapt to the shorter lane and the fact that most marchups ur gonna face are ranged. U can basically hard win mostly any melee/assassin matchup thanks to ur E/passive and tankiness. U need to be patience with mages/ranged and just accept to farm until they make that step that gives u the chance to taunt them. I'm going for TP/ignite and Always hollow radiance First item if against ap, that gives u survivability, damage and massive waveclear which Will prevent u from being perma-pushed under tower. The massive advantage Is that u don't loose that much After an ultimate because u can come back to lane faster, also midlaners Will Always sacrifice massive waves to go for a roam bot. U can easily push the wave and the ult ur adc turning the enemy roam into ur favor, also being ahead in xp and Gold. The fact that shen Is not played that much mid means that Ur enemy has generally Little idea of ur damage and how your kit works! Just keep going on and maybe let me now if my comment has been useful. Good luck!
