If he wants a tcu tune VF is the way 2 go that tune is close to a dual clutch as a tune can get even better if he does a ecu tune as well
I have a 2008 R8 V8 with the R-tronic and I have an issue with my gearbox. When I shift from 2nd to 3rd in manual mode, I hear a clunking noise from the gearbox. Its almost every time if I shift in low rpms (2000-3000) but when I shift at higher rpms, the clunking noise almost disappears. Whats your experience on noises from the gearbox?
The gearbox should not “clunk” at any rpm range. I would check the transmission mounts first. If they are okay, then the clunk may be related to the throw out bearing.
