Vocals: Tom T. Hall,
Words and Music: Tom T. Hall,
Original Album: New Train, Same Rider (RCA - 1977)
Lyrics:
There is a force that moves our lives from place to place
There is a force exchanging smiles from face to face
If we must go and we must go then we will be apart
May the force be with you always sweetheart.
There is a force that moves the wind and changes tides
Not that we would but if we should we couldn't hide
The force is all and we as one are but a tiny part
May the force be with you always sweetheart.
The force is bigger than the little plans we made
The force picks winners in the little games we play
If we are part of something bigger we can face the dark
May the force be with you always sweetheart
What a thrill to Bonnie and myself when Tom T. invited us so sing with him on a few songs from his LP, "New Rider, Same Train". Thanks Tom, it was fun.
i love the song brought out after this, "No, I Am Your Father..." - classic
I was kid when I heard this and even then I was embarassed for Tom.
Read some previous comments. Tom T. Hall has always been a Christian. He has written and sung some of the most beautiful, wise songs in the world. There is a Creator and there is a Devil - both are real. The Devil can never create anything, but destroy, kill, lie and distort. Mr. Hall has used his life to share his God-given talent with the world and our lives are enriched by hearing his music.
wasnt satan the best musician? whos to say his talent is god given? @steven Spolar
Rockabilly Outlaw He wasn't as good as Johnny the fiddle player
wow what BS. Lucifer Does create. Dry up dumb nut.
John Todd said that Tom T Hall was a witch and that "The Force" is about witchcraft. You can't both be right.
@@SPRAYPSALM777 Todd was a compulsive liar and convicted of rape and child molestation, sent to prison and released into a mental institution....
I have this album on cassette.....Same Train, Same Rider an d it's SOLID. I remember firing up that album on the ole turntable and kickin off this track. It was Tom T. Hall branching out with his latest and in my opinion his best on the RCA label. Way back then, I thought about the lyrics....Fast forward some 20 plus years, and now I get what ole Tommy T. was singing about. Love this song.
Great song, powerful lyrics................
JUST AS GOOD AS GOLD!!...Thank you soooo much for posting and sharing this "rarely heard anymore" lil' country gem that made it up to #13 on the country charts for Tom back in February 1978...I thoroughly enjoyed it!...(and the sound quality is top'notch too!)...Take care! :)
O.M.G. - You sure hit the nail on the proverbial head! !
The album from which this hit single came from happened to be his first for RCA after a highly successful stay at Mercury. The album's title "New Train, Same Rider" is a reference to the switch in record labels.
@Maxine Russell--I loved your harmony vocals with Tom on this song, as well as on the track "I wish I loved somebody else"...and along with Jim Ed and Bonnie as 1/3 of The Browns, you were superb! I Really do miss the "classic" country nowadays.....It's such a thrill to see you here on youtube!...hope all is well!! Take care!! :)
Anyone remember the other country music song "Who Cares About Star Wars" ? Up until Disney bought the franchise the song was on UA-cam and could be found on web searches, but it has been completely erased since Disney bought the franchise.Anyone remember the song im referring to?
Thank you for posting this beautiful song, and in such high quality audio. This album seems to not be available digitally, so this is a real treat. Thanks again!
I thought this would be a song about Star Wars, but I guess I was off by a long shot. Then again, it's hard to find a word that rhymes with Chewbacca.
Poet.
FORCE?
“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.
That myth is more potent than history.
That dreams are more powerful than facts.
That hope always triumphs over experience.
That laughter is the only cure for grief.
And I believe that love is stronger than death." Robert Fulghum

only sick people would think of this song as anything but a beautiful love song. Thank you for posting.........
I agree Simonne, well said.
You must understand the premise behind the pretty. It's a beautiful ballad; but the force is drawn off of Abrams' Star Wars and the force spoken of in Star Wars is witchcraft. Every actor involved in the making of the movie was involved in witchcraft off set. It was a prerequisite to star in the movie per John Todd; look him up. He exposed the Illuminati after breaking away from them when he was a high priest of witchcraft. He exposed Tom as an Illuminist outside of this little ditty. Remember satan comes as an angel of light. I'm not busting your chops at all. Just laying some wisdom on you that you might have previously been unaware of like myself.
Agree . Anything T wrote is beautiful
go for it
what is the force?
Luissy Ariceaga The force is what gives a Jedi his power, an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together.
The force ? Wow.. Jonh Todd said Tom T. Hall is singing about witchcraft.
So should Tom have sued George or should George have sued Tom?
@ TheDuckTuxedo, Fortune telling is basically nothing short of predicting the future events. Since some of the apostles had the gift of prophecy that to made them fortune tellers. If you look at the synonyms of fortune telling and prophecy you will see that they both are in that list for each other.
If you not trying to tell us, then why did you write "the movie star wars is actually based off some of the deepest beliefs of actual witchcraft ....im not trying to tell you "what its all about” No you have just became a hypocrite.
@dontbeafraid - Please take your propaganda and spread it somewhere else. I do not wish to read it, nor do those who view my videos. By the way, you may have studied satanism for decades (waste of time), but you best study the law regarding slander since that is what you are doing to Mr. Hall's good name when you label him a satanist. I noticed that you referred to him in the past tense, however, he is still very much alive and well at 77 years old and could sue you for slander. Fair warning.
Steven Spolar hes a witch, not a satanist, slight diff....I should sue him, had to listen to this garbage for years while my parents made me trash my kiss records; simultaneously kept this crap on a regular rotation, agggggg!!
dear Mr Spolar do you know where I can buy Tom t Hall's original album's on CD thank you
Gertytyu Trew - I apologise for the delayed reply. Have you been able to locate any Tom T. Hall CD's yet? If not, let me know and I'll help you out.
the movie star wars is actually based off some of the deepest beliefs of actual witchcraft ....im not trying to tell you "what its all about" ....but everyone deserves to be informed of certain things they don't have knowledge of brother
The Force is witchcraft.
anyone who lies about tom t hall can go to hell tom t hall has made many gospel songs saten or a witch would never do that
That's exactly what Satan would do.
Satanic
Well, I can also prove that the apostles were into fortune telling. Do you really want to pay that card?
