I love the acceleration with the occasional regenerative braking for an upcoming bend in the road. Love that you can actually hear birds at 03:28 .. Thanks for this video!! :) (* I should never have taken that test drive 5 years ago, it has ruined all other cars for me ;o)

First thing I spotted in the first few seconds is your drivers door is out of alignment again - i assume this was filmed after you had that "fixed"? Reason I ask is that I'm just i'm trying to decide if I want to move from my current car - a VW Golf R, to a Tesla and build quality is definitely something that I'm very concerned with and my main hurdle to taking the plunge right now.
Yeah, I spotted it straight away, glaringly obvious, except to Tesla apparently. It's pathetic that after this considerable time in manufacture that they are still dishing out cars with this irritating but easily preventable bad assembly and zero quality control issue. Very embarrassing for owners who pay premium price for shoddy build quality. This is the 21st century but build quality from the 70's. If I was a nasa astronaut I would be deeply concerned if my Crew dragon showed-up with such blatent defects on the capsule door or docking hatch! This is also my barrier to (re)ordering one, I have already cancelled my 1st order a few weeks ago. I'm now inclined to order a Polestar which, from what I have seen so far from reviews on UA-cam, is light-years ahead in terms of build quality and interior design. It isn't rocket science to get it right first time is it? Or maybe it is! so why not re-deploy a couple of SpaceX experts to sort out these problems once and for all.

I don't understand why, when they must know they are known for this type of issue they don't direct all their outlets to ensure its stamped out immediately. What it says to me is that they're lazy and that the odd defect here or there they don't really care about and seem to hope their buyers are also meh about the issue. Despite claiming to be pushing the boundaries from some aspects, they seem to hugely lag in others. I love what they offer and having test driven one a couple of times now, the casual attitude puts me off and I definitely wouldn't accept anything less than perfect with promises of fixing it later, not for £50k+ and that's my biggest issue. One car if this value I can afford comfortably, but I can't afford to keep my current car just in case this turns out to be a duff one and gets rejected by me as then I end up with no car. Its never been a concern or issue with any other new car purchase which is a shame.
Question: how do you find the ride quality/comfort on the LR? In videos it always look like quite a “jolt” going over bumps and small potholes but I know it can appear exaggerated through a camera.
I have the LR Model 3 and unfortunately it does jolt quite a bit when going over potholes and bumps. It can't be helped though as the suspension on Tesla's (as well as all electric cars) are really stiff due to the weight of the battery. Having said that, the ride comfort overall isn't bad and I can quite easily do a long road trip in it comfortably. One big advantage of stiffer suspensions is that you can fly around bends and corners without too much lean! It's awesome, not that I'm condoning such driving behaviour haha.
The ride quality is firm, and you do feel bumps, but the camera mount definitely exaggerates it unfortunately (I’m using a single sucker mount but want to swap to a triple).
Would love a tesla but the prices have shot up from being supposodly "affordable" at 35k to 40k plus 🙁 Even second hand ones are going fort as much as new ones currently.
I’ve watched countless Tesla videos (none as good as yours!), and this is the first time I’ve seen the blinkers used and now know where they display and what they sound like. Can’t believe no one else has shown that yet. Question: Can the blinker sound be customized? I can see why larger vehicles aren’t in favor over there. English roads are narrow and town roads are twisty. Looks tricky to drive and to navigate. Cool old towns and countryside I must say! Can wait to see England someday!

Nice video! I have a question that just popped into my head while watching. I assume the brake lights come on under regenerative braking, but are they sensitive to how much you lift off? So if you're just easing off and slowing gently they don't light, the same as would happen in a ICE vehicle, but if you take your foot off and decelerate quicker (as between the national speed limit and the 30 limit for example) then they'd come on, as if you'd stepped on the brake pedal?
Absolutely spot on. What you’ve described is exactly how it works. You can also see the brake lights on the little car animation on the screen. So over time you realise the exact ‘biting point’ of the brake light with regen. Merry Christmas.
Road/wind noise I don't think is too dissimilar to a non-electric, but I have to have music playing, so it's masked some what when I drive. That was the weirdest bit for me.

If your still in Cornwall St Erth railway station (on zapmap says industrial estate but in railway car park) has a Genie point that put a constant 41kw into my M3 today, much needed as where we are staying no access to power and Tesco Penzance is a little slow!

I don't know if you ever saw BBC4's long 'nothing happening' broadcasts they did, like 4 hours on a Inuit reindeer drive just going through the snow. Super relaxing. Just like this video, except this is shorter. Loved it!

SpawnPoiint now does it compare to other cars. My one and only concern about maybe buying one is I’ve heard it’s noisy at highway speed. The frameless doors and whatnot I’m told make for a noisy interior. What’s your opinion? How was the road noise on your 1,000 mile road trip?

Other than the minimalist interior (nothing in it compared to BMW), it’s so much better. Never looked back.

Relaxing video. The car is very quiet at low speed. Does it have the artificial engine noise and did you have it turned on?
It doesn’t have that feature in this car. Unfortunately all you can hear is The wind and road noise.

Spot on, that’s exactly what it is (new road surface). The microphone is also really sensitive, I didn’t realise how loud it would sound.

I'd compare it to an M Sport BMW, so it's harder than a normal car, but not as harsh as the performance model. It's very firm.
