    I’m a 55 year old black Marine veteran and a high volt linemen of 28 years, this song has shown me that the Rich are, and have always been the problem. I only hope my fellow Americans of European descent can forgive me for my ignorance, I always saw them as the problem. The media brainwashed us into thinking that. But we are all in the same boat. United we stand. The war in this country is not race. It’s class and we have lost many battles. But together we can locate, close on and destroy our enemies with fire and close combat! Oohrah!!

    Two weeks ago Oliver (Chris) was unknown in the woods, then this, 24M views in 10 days. The lyrics touch us because we know it's truth. The guitar touches us because it harkens back to a simpler time. His voice touches us because it has passion and a cry in his voice that we feel in our hearts. He is touching the heart of the world wherever an incompetent corrupt conflict creating government and greedy corporations abuse and steal from the people. That's everywhere today. Lord, it's a damn shame.

      @SamHolt1974
      I agree with you that most reactors who stop and pause are doing so to avoid the copyright "Content ID" system. Out of respect for the artist or just trying to avoid the copyright claim is an entirely separate thing. By breaking up the original artists content so it doesn't match up with what UA-cam has in it's database. Content ID is essentially hashes. Our videos fall under fair use because we use the commentary clause in the fair use act, as well as transform the visual aspect on the video by making dynamic zooms and cuts. You don't need to pause if you know how to explain how your video is fair use in your copyright claim dispute.
      A replacement or substitute is like a lyrical video, reaction videos are inherently fair use because it is not a music video, or a replacement to the original source of material. The issue is copyright claims is an automatic system and when a reactor disputes those claims the publishers typically will reject those disputes because there is no incentive for them not too unless the reactor can use legal verbiage to convey how their video is fair use. Once the publisher sees that response they usually remove the copyright claim.
      Sorry that was a long response, I'm just passionate about this topic because it does directly affect my channel but I also wish more UA-camr's/Reactors would just watch Ian Corizone's Fair Use video on how to do it.

    • @chrismalik1579
      @chrismalik1579 Рік тому +1

      @SamHolt1974 that's false because reactors on youtube admit in their video why they pause so much, they do it so the video isn't just about the arist but they want their opinion and voice to be heard so they can build their channel and get more recognition, lots of artists have admitted publicly they like the fact people react to their content on youtube it gets them more exposure and it builds up the fan base and community, to call youtubers thieves for that is completely hypocritical

    No wonder this song resonates, it speaks to everyone, those working all day & barely making ends meet, even those trying to earn a living on social media, I've watched a lot of people reacting on UA-cam with the majority either bleeping out some of the words or referencing the 'I wish politicians would look after miners & not just minors on an Island' lyrics with a 'he went there' (knowing they can't talk about the issue) because UA-cam not only knows exactly what they say, but through the threat of Demonetization controls exactly what they can say !!

    Oliver has provided the people of the World his Appalachian Folk Music; that delivers a message that no matter who you are, it resonates within our SOUL. And he has lite a fuse WORLD-WIDE, people are reacting from all parts of the World they feel his pain, his anger and they themselves are now expressing those thoughts themselves. For those of us here in the U.S. = he is a modern-day Woody Guthrie from the 1930s Depression Days. A great original song - his real-life story is made for a movie. Loved your reaction, just luckily happened to come across your post. Love your take on his vocals and sound, you are NOT alone; the World has found Oliver's tune impactful as well. The main thing I have found from watching reviews is no matter who WE are or where WE are from, this tune strikes a chord with everyone. And the great thing about that is WE all find a different meaning to each one of US = however, we all come to the same conclusion, things can NOT stay the way they are! I worked for a company that came to the UK from America and we were working 12hrs night shifts for £7ph. There was hell on about the wage and the top management came over for a meeting with us and told us they were giving us an extra 5 pence an hour, that's 60 pence a shift. They expected us to cheer. Everyone was totally silent. We were so disgusted. We also knew they came over to the UK because they didn't want to pay their American workers a fair wage either. But, they also knew jobs were hard to come by in the UK so they could take advantage. It's even worse now.

    The criticism of Oliver Anthony is just pure envy. He is a guy who has some talent, has experienced success, isn’t seeking millions of dollars and is just doing his own thing and putting out a message a lot of people feel. So with this success the typical media shills and other come out and try to slander the guy. Many people claim to support the working class until the working class has something to say.

      Every reactionary podcast reactionary people that speak upon this song have said the same thing over and over again. I have not heard one negative thing. Reacted to this song. Even reactionists from other continents. Other countries are saying the same thing that the song resonates with everybody. The reaction is that I watch the podcast from the UK. Spoke about a coal mine in Wales, if there was not continental designation there, it sounds like the United States in the same s*** we went through only In whales. Oh, my God, we are the same around the world. It's the same, when are people? And only now are we starting to wake up to the fact that We are all the same wherever whatever country doesn't seem to matter. We are the same, have been Through the same things. It was a while back that I seen a home movie Offered on to youtube Of a family, their house in the background, their children in the yard wearing little Platt shirts and jeans station wagon in the driveway. The whole movie was of the 1970s and when it was a close up, the people were oriental but I sure could tell by looking without being educated or seeing the close up. But they were American, they looked like. We looked back then in the neighborhood. The closing day war the things they did in the yard. It was the same we are all the same. That's what we need to wake up to. And this artist is speaking the truth, the resonance. Around the world connects to the people around the world, there should be no kind of racism. Hello people we are all the same

That includes providing obese people the very thing that keeps them obese and on the dole, and will probably kill them. While at the same time there are people on the streets with NOTHING to eat and the politicians don't care. And they work people to death to tax them to hell to use the money for their benefit.

I was on welfare for a couple months when I was a kid in the 80s and we could only purchase necessities. You can buy any damn thing you want on the card now …all at the taxpayers expense. It used to be a way to help while they were getting back on your feet but now it’s a way of life for many people and it’s disgusting and abused. I have no problem with welfare and food stamps and I don’t think oliver does either.. but when the system is being stolen from, and people are trading food stamps for weed and drugs, something has to stop.

    Your reactions are always awesome to watch! I have a recommendation for you, guys, some authentic folklore songs from Bulgaria. This is a quite specific style of singing that is learned only in our small Bulgaria and very few people can sing it well. So in 2021, the winner of The Voice of Bulgaria, a girl, is one of the best singers of this style. Listen to her audition song: Petya Paneva - Avram Zornitsa Dumashe | Blind Auditions | The Voice of Bulgaria 2021; or her song on the finale: Petya Paneva - Kalimanku Denku | The Voice of Bulgaria 2021. I'm sure you will be left speechless :). You won't regret listening to that style of folklore music. It's no wonder that a Bulgarian folklore song was included in Voyager Golden Record - two phonograph records one of each were included aboard the two Voyager spacecraft launched in 1977. The records contained sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth, and were intended for any intelligent extraterrestrial life form who may find them.

      Woody Guthrie was a socialist and union organizer. In the same vein as Pete Seeger, Joe Hill, Utah Phillips... where those singers would disagree is the taxation line they would have a problem with taxes supporting war and corporations not folks getting a bit of pleasure from cookies. Good song but I would love to see folks react to Dump the Bosses off your back or Bread and Roses or any of the long tradition of socialist folk singers.

Just as with racism inferring their own negativity into what they hear. And some could not live if you had to think to breathe.

    He Clearly says "Rich Men North Of Richmond " but he also says " RICH MEN NORTH OF RICH MEN".... He's Clearly Tell You About "THE CABAL" THAT CONTROLS EVERYTHING... Think about it 🧐
    The PYRAMID OF POWERS...

      They don't call it PROGRAMMING for nothing 📺
      Truth is where Freedom lives 🙌 and it must be Sought out, hunted down, pursued -- they'll keep you busy earning a dollar so you are to tired, to busy, to look for it --- Slavery.
      Look how the Slaves all "be-lie-ved" the Tel-LIE-vision and put on their Slave Masks 😷

    Brings memories back from words from The Book when the Israelites were in Egypt: "when the cry of the children of Yisra'el has come to Me. Moreover I have seen the oppression with which the rulers oppress them." It sounds perhaps strange but I have been looking out for this. Oliver Anthony has just set the cry free and he is speaking for oppressed people worldwide. I myself am Dutch and have four children. Young adults. I see one future for them. Being enslaved with no chance of starting a family. When I saw that I realized if there is a GOD he will come into action for now they are touching the core of His Soul denying Him His family. Don't forget the first blessing people (Adam/Eve) received from Him is multiply. This is for sure not without reason. JAH is building a family. The prelude for heavy weather is here.

    From It's been difficult as I browse through the 50,000+ messages and emails I've received in the last week. The stories that have been shared paint a brutally honest picture. Suicide, addiction, unemployment, anxiety and depression, hopelessness and the list goes on.
    Im sitting in such a weird place in my life right now. I never wanted to be a full time musician, much less sit at the top of the iTunes charts. Draven from RadioWv and I filmed these tunes on my land with the hope that it may hit 300k views. I still don't quite believe what has went on since we uploaded that. It's just strange to me.
    People in the music industry give me blank stares when I brush off 8 million dollar offers. I don't want 6 tour buses, 15 tractor trailers and a jet. I don't want to play stadium shows, I don't want to be in the spotlight. I wrote the music I wrote because I was suffering with mental health and depression. These songs have connected with millions of people on such a deep level because they're being sung by someone feeling the words in the very moment they were being sung. No editing, no agent, no bullshit. Just some idiot and his guitar. The style of music that we should have never gotten away from in the first place.
    So that being said, I have never taken the time to tell you who I actually am. Here's a formal introduction:
    My legal name is Christopher Anthony Lunsford. My grandfather was Oliver Anthony, and "Oliver Anthony Music" is a dedication not only to him, but 1930's Appalachia where he was born and raised. Dirt floors, seven kids, hard times. At this point, I'll gladly go by Oliver because everyone knows me as such. But my friends and family still call me Chris. You can decide for yourself, either is fine.
    In 2010, I dropped out of high school at age 17. I have a GED from Spruce Pine, NC. I worked multiple plant jobs in Western NC, my last being at the paper mill in McDowell county. I worked 3rd shift, 6 days a week for $14.50 an hour in a living hell. In 2013, I had a bad fall at work and fractured my skull. It forced me to move back home to Virginia. Due to complications from the injury, it took me 6 months or so before I could work again.
    From 2014 until just a few days ago, I've worked outside sales in the industrial manufacturing world. My job has taken me all over Virginia and into the Carolinas, getting to know tens of thousands of other blue collar workers on job sites and in factories. Ive spent all day, everyday, for the last 10 years hearing the same story. People are SO damn tired of being neglected, divided and manipulated.
    In 2019, I paid $97,500 for the property and still owe about $60,000 on it. I am living in a 27' camper with a tarp on the roof that I got off of craigslist for $750.
    There's nothing special about me. I'm not a good musician, I'm not a very good person. I've spent the last 5 years struggling with mental health and using alcohol to drown it. I am sad to see the world in the state it's in, with everyone fighting with each other. I have spent many nights feeling hopeless, that the greatest country on Earth is quickly fading away.
    That being said, I HATE the way the Internet has divided all of us. The Internet is a parasite, that infects the minds of humans and has their way with them. Hours wasted, goals forgotten, loved ones sitting in houses with each other distracted all day by technology made by the hands of other poor souls in sweat shops in a foreign land.
    When is enough, enough? When are we going to fight for what is right again? MILLIONS have died protecting the liberties we have. Freedom of speech is such a precious gift. Never in world history has the world had the freedom it currently does. Don't let them take it away from you.
    Just like those once wandering in the desert, we have lost our way from God and have let false idols distract us and divide us. It's a damn shame.his Facebook:
