I absolutely perked up hearing the switcheroo plot description, because I have always wondered about the psychosexual aspects of Freaky Friday. The musical delves into it a little bit, but it’s not the focus
I admire Seth for how he’s always fully shown his love for John. Despite a some significant downs in the ups and downs of life, Seth shows love for his friend, supports him even in the bad times-maybe especially in the bad times.
Colbert is really good at that, but you gotta be super authentic and fun like Nicki Minaj or super deep and thoughtful like his recent interview with Edward Norton. If you don't rise to his level of conversation he's not very good at stooping to yours. But you're right, Seth is amazing at holding a conversation.
@ yeah I think Stephen is also doing fine. In all fairness to him I would also lose interest interviewing a lot of people in Hollywood rn. It’s not like he can be like Letterman and poke fun at them anymore, today’s culture would just not allow for that
@@Shshshshshhshhs that's been his biggest problem since taking the cbs show. He's not "Stephen Colbert" anymore, and doesn't really know how to be funny as Stephen Colbert
🥰gives me the warm and fuzzies! I love Mulaney and think he had to go through a bit of hell to be redirected onto a life track where he’s genuinely happy and fulfilled. He seems like he’s the happiest he’s ever been in his life/career-he seems head over frickin heels in love with Olivia Munn and his two kids. After seeing how sweet/obsessed a dad he is, I can’t imagine him NOT having children. Just…very happy for him in this era. It doesn’t feel like too long ago when he came on Seth with the trench coat and the glasses🫣😂 Ahhh, twas so confusing, and then made so much sense. @ I knew pregnancy and child birth could trigger dramatic physical changes, but had no idea that pregnancy also altered the facial bone structure of the person doing the impregnating. I wonder who fathered Mitch McConnell’s kids- his chin makes it clear it wasn’t him.
*BOO* flubs are off limits for *faux* "corrections" - and that teeny tiny slip was not in the same world as hilarious Nothing like some of his truly hilarious flub-slips that have made him laugh.
The funniest sketch pitched that never made it was for dana carvey guest hosting SNL was casey cason written by john mulaney and bill hader. SETH make it happen please😂😂😂
How timely to bring up the 'Tourism Ad' sketch (I can't find the original online anywhere, only the subsequent Jamaica & Africa editions.), given that just a week ago Guyana has said they will re-open the massacre site to tourism: $650/night at the site. Do you think they got the idea from Mulaney & Rich's sketch? 🤔😅
I was trying to figure this out, too. I have recordings of the original broadcasts from Mulaney's run as a writer and I've been reviewing them but haven't found it yet.
I love it whenever Seth has any of his former writers on
Please support my petition for 'Cash for Silver' to be aired on SNL the next time Mulaney hosts.
I want to watch this soooo much. It has to be Hader too 😂
YES!!!
Only if they get Bill to do it.
I want to see this so bad. Seth can subject Corrections viewers to Celebrity Baby teeth for months, but cuts Cash for Silver? That's bullshit!
If not on SNL, Seth can have them do it on Second Chance Theater. 🤞🏻
Switcheroo is one of my all-time favorite SNL sketches. Cecily as the interviewer= cherry on top
Look up The Secret with David Duchovny. Too inappropriate for SNL, apparently fine for an actual movie.

Audibly laughed loudly when John explained COD for Noodles

The way the story of how they first met just becomes them complimenting each other is awesome
9:48 "I hope you're proud of yourselves. That just went out to all fifty states." is one of the Lorniest Lorne Lines. Imagine Jack Donaghy saying it.
Man, I love hearing the SNL behind-the-scenes stuff.
I recommend Simon Rich’s Ant Farm. Short comedy bits, couldn’t stop laughing
I am shamelessly in love with Simon Rich after reading his books. Number 1 crush.
Simon Rich's show "Man Seeking Woman" is so good, so underrated
It was so good at being absolutely absurd, but yet very relatable.
Miracle Workers too
Simon looks perpetually 14 I love it
Poor guy also has an extremely 14-year old name too lol
I feel like he's just gonna look more and more like Benjamin button early in the movie the older he gets.
Switchiero is one of my favorite sketches! No idea it was a 2009 sketch
LOVE Simon Rich! I watch everything he does and have read most of his books. ❤
I’ve been waiting for this conversation! I wish I lived in New York to see the show. I love you guys. Thank you for every laugh❤
I need a girlfriend that looks at me the way Simon Rich gazes at John Mulaney.
I love Switcheroo!! Lol. One of my favorites. I watch it every time it pops up. 😂
“It’s important to name all 3”
Thanks for repeating what they said!
Can't wait for John to come back to host and do Cash For Silver
"auto-erotic dog asphyxiation" Now that's in my head forever... Thank you?

Funny to think of Seth being worried about what Big Fentanyl thinks of a sketch.😸
They're very influential people
I hope you’re proud of yourselves. That just went out to all 50 states.
I've been trying to figure out which episode this was on. Does anyone know?
I would watch hours of this 😂
God please give them their own show.
5:30 I flippin’ loved Switcharoo!
Fantastic interview! Three brilliant comedy minds
TRULY!
Switcheroo had a Jonestown reference also
I think they combined ideas because the runner got cut.
I would never believe that both Salman Rushdie and John Mulaney are being interviewed by Seth but here we are.
3:26 this club has everything.
That what I thought
@xograyce nope I thought it
These guys are so funny
I went to show with John, and it was great!
I grew up watching Switcheroo and I regret nothing
I could've listened to so many more stories of failed and bombed snl sketches. We need a podcast of this!
I read the book Freaky Friday in the 1970s and loved the movie starring Jodie Foster
Dude wtf, how did John Mulaney go from the nerd on a 90s teen show to the hot bad boy look by stopping cocaine?
Plastic surgery

It seems pretty obvious to me that we need more Second Chance Theatre performing the rejected SNL sketches.
It's OK John, I like Switch-a-roo.
Noodles the Dog not available on YT or in the full episode on Peacock. 😢
I found a transcript of the sketch & read it, but no video yet.
How could you turn that werewolf sketch down?
I love everything about this clip...please bring them to the Lonely Island and Seth podcast❤❤❤
I'm not sure whether the rejected sketches are funnier than what airs or if just describing a sketch is funnier than watching them performed.
I love Simon Rich and his books
It actually sounds like a decent skit.
I see John Mulaney, I click. That simple.
Always. With giddiness.
Thanks John, Seth and Simon. I hope you're proud of yourselves . . .! 8-D
They forgot to mention that the Switcharoo reboot was filmed at Jonestown!
Can we get a failed snl sketch show!
Airport Sushi was really funny! 😂
That sketch sounds fire NGL
noodles the dog was on a zach galifinakas episode btw
What is wrong with this audience? This discussion had me laughing out loud on several occasions.
'Switcheroo' was a great sketch.
If they ever need someone to play Matt Goetz, Mulaney is the guy.
Vice Versa. I saw that before any freaky Friday stuff. Maybe I say the Dudley Moore one after vice versa because HBO was having a theme.
Is noodles the dog available on UA-cam? I need to see it
Lotsa people searching for "SNL noodles the dog" on here. Put it on youtube!
Why would you reject these sketches!? These are dynamite 😂
Cash for silver MUST be made. 😂😂
Hey, Simon made it here in time this time! Must’ve gotten the morning flight
I’m finding out about him now!

So you're not counting 18 Again because he switches body with his GRANDfather? But Freaky Friday is not father-son either!
He forgot about 17 Again with Matthew Perry and Zac Efron.
IIRC, That's not a body switch story but more of a reverse Big or 13 Going On 30.

“Noodles the Dog” made it to air but not “Cash for Silver”? 🤨
All of the sketch ideas they talked about were brilliant. Problem is, most of America is drones.
Mulaney looks different, gained a bit of weight, he's actually looking a little like Harry Connick Jr.
Simon looks like a little kid wearing his dad’s clothes.
