- I took off into India's Western Ghats to unravel the mystery of Karnataka. My plan was to get off the beaten tourist track and I sure did accomplish that. I met friendly people, found hidden caves, blue water holes, and even accidentally stumbled across the Channabasaveshwara temple, one of the most sacred places in all of Karnataka.

That was great. I love your genuine personality and how you mingle with the people. “Never thought I would be eating peanut brittle in India.” That was hilarious.😂❤
🤣 it's true
It's really enjoyable to experience Indian culture through your eyes, thanks for making this series!
I'm so glad to hear that
Ulavi is an important center of pilgrimage for people of the Lingayat faith. The Samadhi of Channabasavanna, one of the most revered saints of the Lingayat faith, lies here. In the 12th century, Channabasavanna traveled from Kalyana to Ulavi before he died. Very close to this holy Samadhi is the Akka Nagalambike cave named after Nagalambike, Channabasavanna's mother and Basavanna's sister. The Ulavi jathre or congregations attracts pilgrims from all over Karnataka.
Great to see you visiting these places, have a good time!
Great info, thanks!
Cool video sir
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice Video😊
Thanks 😄
Idli batter base is typically rice flour *but* is often made from semolina too. I personally make mine from chickpea flour for the protein. This isn't unusual but it's not 'traditional'.
That sounds good. I'd like try it made with chickpea flour.
Is it fermented though?
U were in Karwar. Iam from Karwar☺
I love Karwar
Hahahahah.. You are supposed to eat a little bit of Prasad and take it with you. You instead offered it to god. Prasad is the blessing from god and it's for you to take it home. Some of them were confused and mumbling "what is he doing" But I understand your innocence tho 😂 hahahaha
Oh so I eat it. It's an offering from the God to me? I got it now. 👍 I know for next time
Yes correct. Prasad is considered to be blessings from God. It's free and you should never pay for it. Puja offerings you buy but Prasad is a blessing and many temples offer it.
@somiyer4024 ok, thanks for the clarification
@@JesseStLouisyou definitely missed out, looks like kesari, it's a nice little sweet dish popular in Karnataka - also made out of semolina lol
@CripplingDuality I will have to try one of these days
First view I think.😊❤
🙌🤙
Great stuff Jesse, just a comment I was getting a little worried about you going into all natural bed rooms / caves, with all those men. I know they are good people but you were all by yourself. Also it's time to go back to that barber, you're looking a little scruffy.
Another barber trip was definitely needed and I found quite a cool spot. I got good vibes from those guys and wasn't worried about it. I appreciate the concern though.
Atleast Google and learn significance of the place you visit instead interpret their lines in your words since they Don know English. It's not necessary for them to know the English for you to understand .. The temple you visited is 12th century
I had no signal to Google anything
The stereotypical Classical Indian Bgm makes my ears bleed 😂😂
🤣
