Modern hardware with modern software will generally take longer to boot up, both need to have enough power to do the task, the Switches hardware cannot keep up because there is more to do, while the PSP has considerably less to do, and is likely better optimized to do this. Also 🤓

Gaming repair guy here, the psp loads faster because the boot code and the amount it has to load in general is a lot smaller, if you loaded a psp emulator onto a hacked switch, there wouldn’t even be much of a load time, it would smoke the psp. Still love my psp tho

the switch has to load all the games you have saved on your harddrive so it takes sometime I don't know if you have a bunch of games on your psp but that would explain why the switch loads a little bit slower
