I think around these album sessions Dave was using dual recs. I could be wrong though. Awesome video!
That Epi totally works for that, you nailed it! 😎👍
Monkey has been looking for his wrench, I guess The big G was reverse engineering it.
Do Nirvana next, maybe the Heart Shaped Box solo or anything from Nevermind.
I think doing a video about two feet any song woulpd be great! The notes are quite easy, songs are popular and the tone is spacious.
Can we hit the tone of Don't Look Back by Boston?
woohoo ♥ i was the one asking for it :D btw.. i've been chasing that FF tone for years and it's impossible since they have something like 6 amps on stage (hiwatt custom, friedman BE100, VOX AC30 and various fender amps). the setup that i settled for was a 1959 ES-335, into a klon type pedal for overdrive, into a handwired VOX AC-15
Thanks again for the request, I can't believe it took me this long to get to Foo Fighters haha! And that sounds like a killer sounding setup for sure! // Guillaume
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses thank you for making those amazing videos!
So my inderstanding from what ive watched interview wise is Dave used a JCM900 for the First album in the studio and on tour.
The second album including monkey wrench was a 100 watt Fender ToneMaster amp for the clean and high Gain sounds (thise amps have alot of balls) he still uses alot today.
Later 90s to late 2000s he used Mesa Boogie Dual Recs and Mesa Roadkings a bit later.
He uses a Custom Audio Amplifier PT100 for his dirt sound now and the Tone Master for the cleans. The Friedman amps and Voxs on stage are Chris Shifletts according to Dave Friedman.
Yeah... finally some Foo Fighters, Thanks Guillaume! How about all along the watchtower? ;)
Seriously the most awesome guitar video's!
Thank you so much Niek that means a lot! And that's a great recommendation, I'll get to it soon! // Guillaume
"Drive all the way down, gain all the way up" How do you do that ;-)
Hahahaha man I only realised I said that after putting the video online 😂 it's a special kind of dialing that's the secret! // Guillaume
Foo!!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
I’m not cool I play dad rock - DG
I would love to see UK82 by the Exploited that would be awesome 😎
Can you do some Dire straits? ❤️
My Favorite band...
Afraid Of Heights by Billy Talent
Slint-Washer
Guillaume is just gorgeous, plus he's playing foo fighters ^^
I mean, you cant really play that sitting down 😁
ps that Epi is Killer 🤘
My feelings exactly haha! Thanks for watching man! // Guillaume
They played this song on TV 2 days ago.
If you just play the rhythm you can also play it in Standard D. Just adjust the chords. And erm, you can do an Em with D as bass simply by dropping you finger on the first fret then. As in the bridge ti the chorus.
Megadeth-Tornado of Souls stp
Do Remarkably Human.
I've been working on that one, I'll get to film it soon! Thanks for the recommendation and stay tuned! // Guillaume
You talk too Much !!
