Interesting info. I'm having fun playing mono-white control on arena. I won 6 games in a row last night, barely beat a mono-black discard deck and a rakdos aggro deck.
I like the deck too. I kept getting paired up against Domain in bo3 and didn't have the patience to grind it out. Probably should've sided in the Imodane's Recruiter.
Very interesting video. I'm sitting in the top 250 playing Boros tokens in Bo1. According to my untapped I have an overall 82% winrate with my most recent revision and 60% or so winrate with it against monored and a bit better than that against the mirror match but I kind of absolutely smoke orzhov, monoblack, golgari, and rabbits. I think I do well against rabbits because I run 4 temporary lockdown and 4 get lost. I saw the japan standard open lists and am a bit inspired to take a version to Bo3 (which I sometimes play). Anyway good analysis and I hope you have fun playing it later.
WU control seems like a favorable matchup. mtga.untapped.gg/meta/cards?friendlyArchetype=4020&meta=current&opponentArchetype=176 You might want to practice playing around the Sunfall or changing your strategy against WU control. Hope it helps :)
I'd argue that Boros Convoke did actually lose quite a lot when epicure rotated. Yotian Frontliner is significantly worse, being unable to get a turn 2 convoke with gleeful demolition. Convoke is secretly a combo deck, so losing one of it's pieces reduces its consistency a lot. Of course, it's not on the level of something like Esper Raffine, losing Raffine, Dennek, Wedding Announcement, etc. but it definitely didn't lose nothing like golgari mid did losing out on graveyard tresspasser when it still has glissa, preacher, and even gix if it wants.
Oh for sure. Losing Epicure was enough to knock it down a tier. But in comparison to Domain losing the Triomes (which turned out to not be that big a deal), and Azorius Control losing Wandering Emperor and Memory Deluge, and Esper Midrange losing Raffine, the archetype looked well positioned in comparison. I thought it was Golgari Midrange's time to shine but it's bane is Domain which is surprisingly doing fine
I’m a newer player about to invest my wildcards in a first deck. Do you think the meta is stabilized after rotation or would I benefit from waiting longer? Thanks for the awesome video.
I feel confident about Selesnya Rabbits, Mono-Red Aggo, and Rakdos Aggro being in the top 8 until Duskmourn in late September. The rest I feel less confident about. Hope that helps :)
No one has solved Scavenger's Talent capabilities yet. Best I've seen is Pitiless Carnage on mode 2 mill opponent. Or Mode 3 vinelasher/Lumra(you can even sac Lumra to bring it back), self-mill, with black village support

I just returned after a few years break. Which of these decks is worth spending the last of my wildcards on in terms of flexibility for bo1? Would be nice to make a deck that is able to shift and has cards that fit well into others down the line, just in case the meta shifts quite a bit. Many thanks :)
Rabbits is prone to creature-type hate if they reprint something like Engineered Plague. I think the prowess decks, both Mono-Red and Rakdos, are going to be around in some form since the bo1 hand smoother ensures that Red Deck Wins is always a top performing archetype. Also, the games are very fast for grinding dailies until you build your collection
@@Arstall Hmm. I have about 18 mythic and 34 rare I think. I forgot to mention my strong dislike for playing aggro decks. Don't mind fighting them though :) Also, great vid. Going to watch each week for sure.
@@Endeffekt_Hi Thanks :) I had a lot of fun with the Mono-Black Discard deck. Perhaps that would be more your style? Can be a bit expensive to craft though ua-cam.com/video/HN_lduiuYcw/v-deo.htmlsi=pV5jbpv_4WVGCFQH
Forcing your opponent to have turn 2 interaction is meta defining and negates many potential archetypes. For example, Selesnya Rabbits struggles against Mono-Red. Now, you might be experiencing a lot of people who are prepped for a very popular deck, bumping into a lot of Mono-Black for example, but I'd say it's far from dog water. Every deck has it's strengths and weaknesses and a Rock, Paper, Scissors is a sign of a healthy meta.
@@mossroks It's not favored against Rabbits and the Prowess decks. It struggles against decks that get off to a fast start, and isn't favored against Domain or Azorius Control because of Sunfall. It does well against Mono-Black Discard and Golgari Midrange, which rely on answering 1 for 1 with single point interaction, but I don't expect them to be dominant in the meta. I'd say craft bats if you think it looks fun. It's winrate is above 50% so you can climb with it but it doesn't look like it's shaping up to be a top meta pick.
