You can tell how excited Josh was to have Jason there. He didn't do his normal questions at all. He just interviewed him.
Honestly didn't even feel like an interview to me. It felt more like Josh just having a conversation with one of his favorite people and enjoying his time with Jason.

First time here ~ suggested after hot ones but I am loving this convo. It seems natural and easy vs a classic interview. Host is a fan of kelce but isn’t fangirling. So great!
@@LiERobotic now that ive watched a bunch of them it seems like he dos one of three methods when interviewing people.
he rather has an interview where he asks the questions and the guest answer. this usually happens if the guest did truly come to talk about death. there usually the ones who said the got scared when they actually had to think about the dish or already had their last meal in mind.
the next one is ones like this where its just a conversation. they hit on death a bit but its unneeded as josh is just vibing with them and the guest loves it
the final one is a mix of the two. this ones usually prompted by the guest as an answer to a question got them onto or off his path of questions on death
with that being said alot of the questions he dos end up asking dont seem to actualy be scripted. just the research and bringing it up if the conversation leads that way. the only question he dos ask and its rather at the vary beginning as his first question or near the last main dish is the question about death.
"Hi I'm Jason Kelce, and my last meal would be..."
....and then he talks for what seems like 8 minutes describing every food! Love it

He just recently retired, but he was one of, if not THE top offensive lineman in the National Football League. An absolute beast of a man and a legend. Wish he played for my team.

I’m not into football or sports at all but this guy really caught my attention with all of the “brothers playing the Super Bowl” press. He seems so genuine and you can tell he really loves his family and they are so important to him, and I think that says a lot about him!
Jason Kelce is a gem. Just a cool genuine dude, whole city of Philly loves him.
My son got to meet him in 2020 litteraly a week before everything shut down. The eagles hosted the Philadelphia philharmonic orchestra for a free sensory friendly concert. He came in quietly so to not take away from the music but at the end took time to take pictures with everyone and was so genuinely nice.
All I can think about him is that he seems like a friendly giant.

It's definitely a testament to the concept, and to Josh's hosting, that even when you know nothing about the guest it's still an amazing watch.
as a non american and non sports person, I didn't have hard time following this interview. Josh is getting up there with Sean Evans

I think Jason Kelce is who I would base my interpretation of Clark Kent on. The way he phrases things, the perspectives he presents, his cadence, sincerity and expressive affection for his wife, mother and brother come across as warm, respectful and not taking himself or anything too seriously. I am officially a fan ❤️

@@emmanuelpena2228he got diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma right around that comment. He’s actually no longer on chemo and I think technically the term is in remission but he’s basically doing fine as of right now!
I didn’t know that Last Meal was a thing, but I love Jason Kielce, and now I’m hooked on this show. This host is as good as Sean from Hot Ones.

I agree. Even if I have zero interest in the guest before the episode starts, I find a real appreciation for them by the end of the episode. I couldn't care less about professional football - and had no idea who this Jason Kelce guy was. But now I could see myself hanging with the guy.
I don't care how long it'll be. I'll still be surprised that they landed Tom Hanks.

I did a double take when I saw this. I’m from Philly and am an Eagles fan. I was like how the heck did they get him on? I was just waiting for Josh to do his yoda impression and I was not disappointed. That was hilarious. I hope the Eagles can pull off a super bowl win this year. They were so close!

This is easily my favorite episode I’ve ever seen of mythical entertainment, since I started watching almost a decade ago. I’ve loved joshes, slow burn reveal that he is a Philadelphia sports fan. it’s really funny when he’s talking to all of these people who know nothing about sports and then will slip in go birds. I love Jason, Kelce, and this transition into becoming a media star is amazing.
29:37 this makes me so emotional as a former college athlete. 14 years i played volleyball & the thought of who you are outside of a sport is the scariest thing i, and other former collegiate athletes, have agreed on. sports makes you a different person from who you are truly within. jason said it perfectly, it’s a choice you have to make if you can physically and emotionally fund yourself to be in that grind mentality 10 months out of the year! it is so awesome to hear a professional athlete talk about this subject. i hope others listen to this episode and feel as heard as i do!

My favorite things about Jason have to be, he is an every man, in the best of ways. He is, an avid family man, and he genuinely has a really solid block on his shoulders. Man is very very intelligent and funny.

I agree. It could be better than Hot Ones. It's a similar premise but in Last Meals people eat their favorite foods in the world and not super spicy wings. Tom Hanks has never been on Hot Ones.
The Andrew Luck topic is so interesting, especially when he retired as he started a family. Jason remindse a lot of Andrew Whitworth on the field talking to his kids saying "dad is gonna be home alot more often". Love getting to see the human side of these athletes

Yeah seriously. I caught marshmallows dipped in butter and rolled in sugar, but what is wrapped around that? Is it biscuits from a can? Croissant dough from a can?
I know them as “resurrection rolls” my sister has used crescent roll dough, and then the dipping of marshmallows in butter and cinnamon sugar. Then roll the dough around the marshmallow and bake.
Mama Kelce gave the recipe out on her IG some time last season 😊

We have gatherings across the country; you would be respectfully welcomed amongst our ranks because any straight man who can with that much confidence say “I’m a bear” (and probably with the full knowledge of how many members of the community have deep-dive Google searched for photos of him naked) sure as heck deserves to be welcomed by those of us who just think he’s a cool as hell guy.

Jason’s thing about “hope” and the city coming alive is so true. I’m a Detroit Lions fan and throughout Michigan the people here had so much hope, people in Windsor, Ontario were rooting for the team, during the NFC Championship game we had family and friends from out of state rooting for them, and the Lions became a huge hit. It really made the city and state come alive.
I can tell you that not only are people on board with this team now more than ever but have high hopes for next season and hopefully years to come.
As someone who lives in KC, loves the chiefs, and always watches New Heights, this might be my favorite last meal episode!
