Thank you for sharing all these classic ships images with us. I was fortunate to have sailed on the Orsova in 1961. Lovely to have run across her again here !
These are classic passenger ship and freighters images dedicated to Ron who took many of them in the 60's at Port Adelaide and Outer Harbor. I have included many of my own images taken in various parts of the world over many years.
Lovely collection of images Which is your favourite ship ? As a kid I had two wee metal models, the Canberra with her twin funnels and the United States .. another ship with unusual shaped funnels. They are probably my favourites. The QE2 was nice too. My late father was a chief engineer with Union Castle. As a kid I fancied that job too, but when I learnt I wouldn't start out by as a chief, I picked a different career Regards from Whitley Bay, UK
Thank you for your kind comment. All the classic passenger liners of the past are my favourites. But yes Canberra and the United States certainly are among the best.
Thanks for the trip to memory lane.
I seem to remember watching the launch of the QE2 on tv at school in Scotland. Blue Star line, long gone. Canberra was a beauty, went to Falklands.
