In Russia, Mercedes has a loyalty program that the older the car, the higher the discount level. My car is not young 6+ and in the official service, car maintenance is more convenient, better and easier than in the non-official one. plus the attitude to the client they have as in advertising.
In 2005 my dad bought a brand new W203 C-class. We had many trips in that car throughout Europe and by 2010 she had 70000km on the clock. We had gone to vacations, trips and she was the car that took me to prom. When I left for university my dad gave me the biggest gift of all, he gave me our family Mercedes. We have shared 14 years so far and they've had many ups and downs. Some great memories like doing a lap of the Nurburgring, visiting the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart, taking my C-class to her hometown, adding an AMG bodykit and winning a local carshow in my town. Some bad like hitting black ice and scraping the left side and costing me a bunch to repair, me discovering my car had been vandalized, star broken and hood scratched with a key. These are a few of our stories, but I always took care of my Mercedes. When I graduated in 2014 and got a good job, my C-class became a weekend car. After 12 years of being a daily driver, she is now a weekend car. Pampered, given the attention a classic needs. I will never part with my C-class. I love my first car and will keep her forever. Also now since I'm not a university student and have a good job, I can dive deeper into my love of Mercedes and I did. In 2017 I bought a 2007 E420 CDI I love and in 2018 I bought a neglected and abused 2004 S600 I'm slowly restoring to former glory.I had tears in my eyes when I bought the S600 for 2000 Euros. It's time someone showed that poor 'ol girl someone cares.She was built to be the queen of luxury and the spark of jealousy in people's eyes as she wafts through town in V12 symphony.But instead she grew old, was abused and was heading to the crusher before I came along. I will make sure all 3 of my Mercedes get the care and love they deserve. Because in today's rapidly changing world, cars that haven't quite achieved "classic car status" are scrapped left and right mercilessly for better deals on modern cars that aren't the same.
There is a special place in hell, under hitler , stalin and ted bundy for people who steal the hood badges off cars and scrape em with keys. Especially of cars that are clearly looked after and loved.
Read your story and the words went to my heart, growing like flowers. I feel the same, my daily driver is a ML 270 CDI W163, build in 2001, we went together 200.000 km. Bought her, when I was nearly finished with my second education. Everybody tells me to throw her to the yunkyard, but I never could do that. My wife is from Ukraine, she had to make a new driving licence here in Germany. She had finished it in December 2020 and I gave her a C-Class Coupe W201 as a christmas present. Found it on ebay and bought it for less than 900 Euro. Made service, changed a part on the front axle, turned the rust away, gave her new rims and tyres and put it to a very good detailer. Now she is looking like new and she has original 168.000 km on the clock (not much for a Mercedes). My wife likes her very much and even our daughter does. She told me already, when she is old enough she want to have a Mercedes, too. Driving a Mercedes is an attitude to life, nothing more and nothing less. By the way, in my opinion, the S-Class W220 is the most beautiful S-Class of all and I hope you will restore her well and give her back her proud and glory. Thanks for your story.

Just saw an E320 W211 yesterday that broke down in the middle of the road, causing a heavy traffic jam in my city. It was not moved with fear of breaking the transmission. It was not handled right away because the only Mercedes' autoshop is on the other part of the city. Mercedes has really lost their reliability since the 2000s.
Same for me. I will remain with them till the end. The feeling of driving a MB can't be explained with words. I sometimes enter my garage and simply watch my car, enjoy its perfection and beauty.
My dealership, ignored a suspension fault for 2 years telling me I was imagining it, then when it failed catastrophically made me pay as it was out of warranty. Next car is a Lexus.
So. What happened to them. I spend my time with my 23 year old C230 K and still don’t understand what happened. The future isn’t what we wanted I guess.
