Almaz Ayana had not yet hit her peak. She has improved now in 2015 and has beaten Genzebe Dibaba a few times. Defar was too strong for her here. Mercy Cherono did a good job to finish 2nd.

Ayana does not have the turn of foot to win the last 200-400m sprint. Hence she revised her running strategy,.. later her wins never rely on last 200m burst, but through big lead over her rivals well before the final 400m.
