I NEED YOU TO KNOW YOUR FIGURE SKATING CONTENT IS ONE OF THE BEST OUT THERE. I have looked every where for good demos, tips, and instructions for off and on ice jumps and you never fail to give them. Thank you, please keep doing what your doing you're awesome!
after watching the video once i am able to do the full rotation and land it off ice. maybe its not perfect but its better than it has ever been. and well i am happy with the progress but it drives me mad that for 5 fckin years no one could teach me that.. what is wrong with my coaches when a random lady on the intetnet is much much better than them and um thank u, u are a great coach❤
I’m having difficulties with the right leg swing kick off for the waltz jump, this looks like it will train me for a muscle memory, thank you coach Mary!!!
Hello from Finland. I am doing off ice jumping waltz jumps and starting with my brand new spinner :) Making just a one round yet :D thank you for this video and the one where you do the spinner exercises - so so much helping :)
Hey Coach Mary, first off thanks so much for your videos, this summer I kind of fell down the figure skating hole and became obsessed with it and creators like yourself has helped me so much start training from home on my roller skates. I just wanted to ask if it’s okay to hop after you hit the ground from your jump. I’ve been trying to stop myself but when I got for a double jump or a single axel I really can’t help but hop a little. Thanks alot
Mary, I can't really tell the difference between the wide swinging leg and then the correct leg. I think I might be doing that and I'm not sure how to correct it. Can you clarify? Thanks!
I am going to refilm this at a better angle thanks for mentioning! Basically on the ice if you cut into the circle too much with the left forward outside edge/stay on it too long and swing your right leg too far out, you run out of time and have a slower hip snap and trickier to get into the back spin. I’ll try to video this better soon!
Thank you for this video! I would love to see one for the backspin! Mine are so off centered and my coaches are running out of ideas on how to help me out

@@CoachMarySkating aaw, i havn't skate in 4 months now. This corona lock down. They even use the ice rink to store dead bodies on the ice right now. Because the hospitals are overwelmed. =^(
Can anyone tell me...If I have been skating for a year and I took a 2 month break, but I'm back and doing well, can I start learning my axel OFF ICE, I can do a Salchow (not the best but ya) and a waltz jump, also learning a toe loop at the moment, but I have no coach for now !!! I need to find a new one but none have space 😢
Hello Mary, thanks for this video. Really useful exercises. I assume axel can be done on inline skates as well. After we feel comfortable with these exercises and, hopefully get them done on skates as well, how do we proceed in doing more turns? Just try them off skates? Or it will come naturally after feeling comfortable with this number of turns? Thank you in advance!

Love it! Thanks coach . Take care
You too!
It was a great follow along video
glad you enjoy!
ah, thank you! this really helped:)
Do you have any advice for posture and keeping the chest up while jumping/landing? I’m having trouble with that
yes! I think about pulling my shoulders back, squeezing my shoulder blades, engaging the core. Also, off-ice strengthening of the upper body/core :)

I'm so sorry to hear - I saw that on the news. Hang in there.
I'm dying to know which sneakers you'd recommend for the off ice? Thank you for the workout!
Sure! I love my CrossFit shoes, I have my new balance on in this video.
My child try to copy your off ice video but she only can jump 1 revolution. How to do two revolutions in the air? Any trick? Thanks.

And I'm not afraid to jump in the slightest 😅
Great video as well as good steps to get into the axel jumps.
Thank you!
Fantastic video! Great workout! Awesome stuff! :)
Thanks a bunch!
Is off ice training hard work?
you can adjust it to your ability and make it as mellow or as challenging as you like!
I do off ice for inline.
It is a workout! Definitely helpful for inline and ice skating
