Hi everyone. one thing that i forgot to mention in the video is that if you want to play a vmd animation with a lot of movements in DSS, you should uncheck the "toe IK" and "leg IK" functions in the settings menu. otherwise the legs will stay locked in the same place and mess up the animation. I hope it helps ;)
it might be kinda redundant to make another vid abt it, but i'd reccomend making a vid about how to do mocap this video shows how u can use the camera to pose the 3D character for animations, and ur VRM Posing Desktop tutorial mentioned u could use VSeeFace to easily animate the facial data, but i think i'd have found ur channel sooner if u had a dedicated mocap vid? unless u already have one and i just didnt see it i knew at one time how to get mocap data into blender, but i forgor and havent been able to find the tutorials about it again. found ur channel while going down a rabbit hole looking into diffrent programs lmao! good luck on getting the 1k! c:
Thank you so much! Yeah, I kinda started to notice that I'm planning my videos in a way that they come out really packed with information, and I don't have enough time to go into anything specific in detail. Haha, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. But maybe I should consider making dedicated how-to videos as well... Thank you. you gave me food for thought :)
4:20 TY for the video. I used to use XR animator when it was still new. Finally it's adding Japanese language. Probably will give it a try again. Motion capture has deffenitly improved but feet it's still flaoting. I wonder if it can be fixed?
Yes. It can actually be fixed quite easily if you export the motions into other softwares. In DSS there are actually functions called called "leg IK" and "toe IK" that fix this problem. Ans you can also fix it in VRM Posing desktop. I'm about to make a tutorial about this software very soon, so I'll try to include it in this video ;)
How do you add props in XR Animator or DSS and make characters hold them? For example in your last episode of Carmilla, a character holds a wooden stake.
Ok, so first of all, you can actually import 3d props into DSS, if click on "load props" under the "load assets" menu. then you can pick it from the prop tab and attach it to a specific bone of your model. that's what i did with most of the props in Carmilla. However, i think there is a better option. and that is to make another version of your character with the prop already attached, and then you can load your character in any vrm software (xr animator/ vrm posing desktop/vseeface) and you don't have to reattach it when you are starting a new scene. I explain how to do it in this video : ua-cam.com/video/eRDxuZO7K90/v-deo.htmlsi=U2Lc276i4v1SphCq You can skip to 10:36 if you are just interested in attaching props ;)
I want to record motion in xr animator and use it in unreal engine with metahuman, but I don't know how to retarget it , if you know about it please tell me
Thank you! Unfortunately XR animator does not track hair or cloth physics. But most VRM models have springbones, and hair physics. so you can easily simulate it later by adding a wind effect in softwares like Vseeface or VRM Posing desktop
Hey! I love XR animation so much! Thank you so much! I did have one question, when I export it to Vmd and upload it on mmd, everything is pretty much working except the centre bone. It just stays in place. I was wondering if there's a setting I messed up or if there's a way to fix it before I have to manually do it. Again, thank you so much!! Edit: I just had to use the model I used in MMD for the model I used in the app
You are welcome! Unfortunately, I don't know much about MMD, so I'm afraid I can't help you a lot. However, I can tell you that XR animator should also export the animated root bone position. It doesn't lock it in place or anything. So first of all, if you were converting a mixamo animation, make sure to uncheck the "in place" checkbox in mixamo. Also, I can tell you that in DSS, they have the foot IK and toe IK functions that help with the legs to look floaty, but they lock the model in it's place. I don't know if MMD has something like this or not, but if it does, you should disable it. I hope that helps :)
oh man... I really wish i knew the answer. so far i wasn't successful in doing that. at least not when the position of the model is changing. you can easily just play an animation loop where the character is in place without any problem. but if you want the character to move in 3D space' you are pretty much limited to the length of the mixamo animation. However, I did find a pretty nice alternative. which is to use the 3D exploration mode in DSS and record or broadcast the data to whatever software you want :) you can see how to do it in this video if you kip to 3:50 ua-cam.com/video/fYHCRTKwAa0/v-deo.htmlsi=ykrDJ4yAN2aDYEa1
If you want to use xr animator for vtubing, the simplest way to do it is just to utilise the transparent background and put the xr animator window in front of whatever background footage you want. However, if you want to step up the production and have better face tracking on top of the body mocap, I would suggest you to send the data to another free software called Vseeface with the VMC protocol. Then you can record the footage from Vseeface with software like obs. You can always start with whatever is simpler for you and step up your game later when you feel like you can improve your production :)
sure! I'm using a free software called 'VRoid studio". It's actually super easy to use. If you want, I also made a tutorial explaining how I make my characters with it :) Here is the link to the tutorial : ua-cam.com/video/eRDxuZO7K90/v-deo.htmlsi=DFG4n13GUKxd5hvo
Well... you can technically use the website version of xranimator on your phone, but it doesn't have all of the features of the desktop version. So you won't be able to do everything that I showed you in the video, but I think it is still worth playing around with it and see if you can still make stuff with it until youll be able to upgrade to the desktop version in the future:)
@@PULPANIME I will only use it to import fbx animation and export it to vmd motion. but I can't drag the fbx file. and I don't see an option button to upload fbx animation file. So sad
@rifa-channel yeah, I thought it might be problematic to do that with a smartphone. Who knows, maybe in a future update to the website it will be possible. But for now I'm afraid it will only be possible to do it with a PC
@rifa-channel yeah. I have no idea why, but I was only able to use mixamo and accurig (wih the blender settings) fbx animation. I've messaged the developer of xranimator about it. I really hope it will get fixed
ok, so first you need to click on the UI/options button below. then on "BG/scene/3d". and then you can pick "background image" if you need jus one color like a green screen or something like that. or you can click on "3d panorama/skybox" if you want a 360 background. after you'll click on it you can either choose one of the default backgrounds, or you can just drag and drop your own image. i hope it helped :)@@halxhalx3862
Unfortunately no. This is why I'm exporting the animations from xr animator to DSS. Over there you can animate multiple characters at the same time with no problem
Ty for the video, Pulp! I'm having trouble - when I drag the mixamo fbx file to xr animator nothing happens - I'm using .vrm models, are they incompatible?
No. Mixamo animations should work perfectly with vrm and pmx models. Make sure that you download it as "fbx binary". And do not edit the animation in blender. It only work when it comes right out of mixamo. If it still doesn't work, try to delete xranimator, and reinstall it. Then, at least try to drag the mixamo animation while using the default character to make sure it isn't a problem with the model that you are using. I hope it will fix the issue for you :)
