- Mark Harmon accepted the National Football Foundation's Gold Medal at the 62nd NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by ETT on December 10, 2019, at the New York Hilton Midtown. The famed actor stars as Leroy Jethro Gibbs on CBS' global favorite "NCIS" series, which is consistently ranked among the five highest-rated TV shows each year. Harmon had equal success as the quarterback at UCLA, leading the Bruins to a combined 17-5 record in 1972 and 1973. In 1973, He earned a prestigious NFF National Scholar-Athlete Award the same night John Wayne received the NFF Gold Medal.

That's his public persona. In reality he may have sexually assaulted several female co-stars (Pauley Perrette has stopped short of naming the individual, no doubt because he has influence, but it's why she quit the show) and is known to bring a vicious dog onto the set simply because he can, which has attacked at least one member of crew. The studio gave him the show after Belisario quit and he's had permission to do whatever he wants no mater the detriment as long as the show gets ratings. Face it, when a major star of the show refuses to film scenes with him in the last season she's on because he's terrifying to be around, something is wrong.
So well put to such a 'finest kind' hunka-hunk! That never flaunted his sexiest man alive stuff! SHOULDA!!!

Very intelligent man. It's a shame people are totally different now a days. "You come first after me." Thats the mentality of alot of people in this day and age. "Do it yourself" another one. All the things I've read about Mark Harmon over the years, he hasn't changed. GOOD GUY. I Enjoyed his speech. He's the best actor, in my opinion, on TV and has no conceit what so ever. He should have won an acting award many times over the years. But award shows have nothing to do with acting anymore It's still who you know. Well, he would get my vote always. And I'm glad he finally got an award for something. It was just too long in coming. CONGRATS! MARK. His Wife is adorable. Loved her in Mork and Mindy.

I actually remember Tom Harmon.
I think he was on a Wheaties box.
For the longest time it was "Hey, it's Tom's kid...Mark."
We're ancient. 😉 I remember Tom Harmon, too. He'd survived 2 plane crashes in World War II & finished his college career before I was born, but football was a big deal in our house and I remember his broadcasts. I don't remember his Wheaties box but I do remember the cereal commercials he did with Mark. Years later, a kid from my town crashed his Jeep in front of Mark's house, it caught fire and he was trapped inside. Many would have panicked, but out there in his pajamas and bathrobe, Mark knew just what to do. He yelled at Pam to bring the maul from their garage and he used the splitter end to pry the kid loose and then pulled him out of the fire. Mark Harmon is like his dad, strong, ethical and true.

He was never a fan of being on stage giving a speech. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He appeared to look uncomfortable when many who spoke gave him accolades. A very humble man who just wants to do "Good Work".
