Thank you for the tour. I could almost cry. I was with Shaffer for 3 years until Covid19 almost killed me. They weren't finished with Lincoln when I was hospitalized in Marietta. That's where my career ended in Oct '21. You are with the best company on the road. I still get calls wanting me to come back but I don't think the DOT would like me driving while on oxygen...Covid19 fried my lungs. I retired the hard way at 52. If you ever get thru princeton wv, exit 9 on I77.. shoot me a message if you need something. I will always be here for Crete/Shaffer drivers!!!

The clearance on that bridge you were asking about is 13’10”. I see vans going under it all the time and it looks scary but nobody has ever hit it. I live just down the road. Safe travels

The loaner car check out is upstairs at fleet office, but at night you can get keys from shop. Also if you go over to the other building there's a cafe you can get cooked food.
They're just showing the nicer terminals. They didn't show DeLand and etc... the DeLand terminal is the tiniest terminal I have been to with any company. .. keep in mind that Schneider and Swift have really nice terminals with pool tables and such. I'll leave it to you to judge on whether you would like to work for one of those companies..Also those companies have an accessible gym for the drivers as well and not just the office staff..

Last time I was there I was switching from Schaefer over to Crete which was a very bad mistake for myself.. the office staff was not very welcoming at the time of my visit.. I requested a copy of my transfer request and the person in the fleet office said she would send it to me but I've never received it. I guess it's just not important to her.. it's just not all sunshine and rainbows over there that's for sure.
I’ve driven past it several times on the way to Kansas City. My exit was actually the next one to Nebraska City. I’m getting so fed up with my fuel hauling job right now, I’ve thought about going to a mega carrier until summer. Only problem is Crete uses than darn opti idle crap. It’s annoying being parked next to one, much less than trying to sleek in one. And I pulled a reefer for a year during Covid.

The dispatcher or they call it asset manager that I have is extremely nice and goes out of her way to help me with whatever it might be. Much better than the other trucking companies I've worked for. My planner is a little difficult but I don't have to deal with him directly. Also they kind of want you to send messages on the people net so this way you don't have to be calling and your asset manager is juggling 75 drivers which is super stressful for her or him anyway. I predict you'll be okay
Hey there! Kevin’s asset manager is good. They keep things on topic and professional, very little chit chat…He’s always respectful and has Kevin’s best interest in mind. Even told Kevin to turn down loads that are unproductive use of Kevin’s time. It’s still trucking, so sometimes load assignments aren’t perfect, but overall we are satisfied!!! He doesn’t bother Kevin. Once Kevin has accepted a load there’s no more communication. Up to Kevin to do what needs to be done. Hope that answers your question!!
It’s funny how you really can’t see when you make a left sometimes.. you ask someone if it’s clear or you have to make a starting run from way back when 😂
It is best to wait when the traffic stops at the light. Whoever designed the new layout knows nothing about trucks. People drive way too fast today. You cannot see past that curve. If you decide to turn at the wrong time, it can be disaster. That is because everyone excessively speeds and then they say "be safe out there".
@@curtis7599 😂 so true man … that’s why I try my best to go straight forward into most turns so I can see both sides good .. I’d rather do a loooong wide turn on an empty street then a blind turn into oncoming traffic..
