Glasses are one thing, but I guess it's how he carries himself as Clark. Different hair, being all dorky and weak that makes anyone doubt that he is Superman. But damn I did not expect to see Superman having a family with kids, this series changed all that... Nicely done imo.
Well we know the teenagers part is true. He had so much trouble dealing with his cousin, we should have known what it would be like to have to deal with teenage children that are his.
Don't, make them work for that. Like if they gets a A in maths they get their tablet fixed, not even the bike below B+. Hate me all you want, but you will see the difference pretty soon affect them pretty positively from this.
The amazing thing about that scene is that Clark at no point singles 1 child out over the other. Even after the if 1 of you had powers and 1 of you didn't line. He goes back to the only way you survive yesterday is if one of you is like me. Jordan immediatley goes all CW teenager about it.
What I got from that scene was that Clark didn't have to say it. Without meaning to, both parents seem to broadcast their "preference" or the seemingly more favored child. Children can sense that stuff. Clark and Lois confirm his feelings. It is kind of sad actually, but more interesting for the story.
I've always seen it as Superman having the telepathic ability to impose his will on others. In this case, he can suppress people's suspicions in him being Superman. In the 70s movies, it's very apparent as no one pays attention to him. They are always bumping into him. Ignoring him. Knocking his stuff out of his hand and not stopping to help or even say sorry. Etc. That's not people being rude... That's Superman unknowingly making it happen. He just doesn't know he has it. It's his wish to be unseen and to have a normal life outside of the suit. When he takes his glasses off and reveals his face, that's him letting his guard down and then suddenly people are like, "I always knew there was something wierd about you, but I could never put my finger on it." If anyone disagrees, just look at what he does to Lois at the end of Superman 2 where he somehow hypnotizes her to forget Clark and Superman are one in the same and she goes back to ignoring him almost completely. On the flipside, consider the fact that there is a god flying around with the ability to destroy the planet and everyone celebrates him as a hero, except for certain people like Batman, and Lex who are either resistant or immune to his telepathy through sheer force of will. Batman knows Superman is Clark Kent for example... I don't know. It's how I am able to see these scenes and be like, "Yah makes sense."
No, I mean there are Comic versions of him having Kryptonian Hypno Glasses and in one Comic Versions he can shape shift his face but both versions are just to far fetched for the Life Action Adaption and no he himself did never had Hypno Powers it was always his Kryptonian Glasses. Since than they have been using the more Grounded but yet least believable or atleast the more challenging way for Clark, is just him no Hypno or Shapeshift, just a change to a Dorky Personality with Normal Glasses, cause that was the more grounded Disguise for Live Action adaptations. You can also noticed how the Kids didn't believed him after taking off his Glasses, only after showing his Powers, meaning they all did believed his Persona. I know for some a simple Personality change with a pair of normal Glasses might be unbelievable, but I'd say it does work on some People I know alot of people who are just bad with Faces, and one other thing why they wouldn't go with Clarks Hypnosis Glasses, well it's kinda fucked to Hypno your own Family. You should check out Superman Birthright Issue-3, it captures his Disguise pretty well.
Possibly both, his world at that moment was thrown on a loop. His particular reaction is normal because as a teenager he is experiencing a multitude of emotions and then now the possibility of powers as well as realizing he's half Alien.
