These two men were gladiators, not much skillful boxing, just power, will & tenacity, during the time when Boxing had 10 or more of these boxers. You had to have been nuts to climb in the ring back then in the heavyweight division.
Lyle's mistake is that he let Foreman lean on him waaay too much when Foreman was dazed. Should of pushed him off to stand him up straight (like Foreman does) and keep punching. Lyle had him 2-3 times but George was like, "Uh-uh, bump this man. How bout a hug" I'm sure his body weight began to wear on Lyle. Can't underestimate that being an under appreciated factor in the fight. George's experience helped him weather the storm. He's legendary for a reason. Great battle!
@8:47 is Lyle hurt? He takes a couple body shots from Foreman, then almost sits on the ropes. Then you can hear Foreman's trainer yell "go to the body/hook to the body" Then the announcers say Lyle is playing possum. I don't think so. I think Foreman nailed him with a left to the body.
Foreman possesses two unparalleled strengths, the endurance of punches and the power of his powerful punches, and his only lack is speed of movement. Foreman is the second greatest boxer in history after Muhammad Ali Clay, may God have mercy on him
Greatest slugfest ever in all weight division. One of the greatest HW fight of all time. This was the return bout of Big George after 15 months of inactivity and his defeat to Muhammad Ali
@18:50 Lyle had Foreman ready to go, but he ran out of gas! Both these guys were tough, strong & game. But Foreman just had better training & more experience.
The commentator, so full of himself, missed seeing the 4 punches on Ron Lyle temple after Foreman was relieved after his Knock Down in the 4th round. Rather than displaying his opinions, he should concentrate on the fight.
He did not easily defeat him he outboxeed him and Norton and Frazier gave Ali trouble while Foreman almost killed both those guys you got in the ring and take a punch from Foreman before talking shit dude's fist were like getting hit by bricks
big george kept on sayin rusty, rusty rusty hell he look in a dumb daze fought like he always do. improve a little over the years. fought in spurts. at time's he look like at lost as what to do.lookin over at his corner.if ron lyle pick up the pace to me big mummy george would have been out of there. ron just gas out.
If the time keeper didn't deliberately ring the bell at the 2 minute mark in round 2 Foreman would have knocked him out, Lyle was hurt and pinned in a corner, Foreman was still fresh and had a habit of scoring KO's in the second round.
George's voice has never changed as he's got older. A superstar of boxing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the best boxing channel in youtube by far. Thanks for uploading all these great, classic fights in great quality.
George Foreman is a legendary boxer!
This ain't a boxing match, this is a brawl!

the pushing tactic of Foreman obviously didn't work on Lyle here which costs Foreman almost to get knocked out.
4th Round one of the best of all time
Wtf is this quality this is great

Quien hubiese ganado en sus mejores momentos Tyson o Foreman?
One of the best Slugfest ever. 👏👏👏
Я вам так скажу! Рон Лайл был самым здоровенным и достаточно быстрым парнем. И никто больше так не потрепал Формана в ринге)))
Greatest slugfest ever in all weight division.

Cosell on Foreman: The man who knocked out Ken Norton who's sitting right next to me
Me: Priceless Howard Cosell
RON LYLE!!!!!
Lyle, only one of two guys to ever knock down big George?
11:14 - 12:09 - 13:19 - 16:14
I taught him all he knows. Proud of you my boy, Lyle!!
This was a pier six brawl. George was out at the end of the 4th. Lucky the bell rang.

At times Howard Cosell could be a little bit overbearing and grating.

У кого остался сил на запасе тот и победил
I can understand why Ali easily defeated Foreman. He pushes more rather than punching.
He did not easily defeat him he outboxeed him and Norton and Frazier gave Ali trouble while Foreman almost killed both those guys you got in the ring and take a punch from Foreman before talking shit dude's fist were like getting hit by bricks
Easily? Ali dodged a rematch for a reason
