- SpaceX is targeting Wednesday, May 10 at 1:09 p.m. PT (20:09 UTC) for a Falcon 9 launch of 51 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. If needed a backup opportunity is available on Thursday, May 11 at 12:55 p.m. PT (19:55 UTC).
The first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched Space Development Agency’s Tranche 0 and one Starlink mission. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage will land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean.
A live webcast of this mission will begin about five minutes prior to liftoff. - Наука та технологія
The booster landings never get old
Yup, just like in the movies
It's my 2nd favorite
Sci Fi films from the '50s and early 60's were correct after all.
8.5 minutes from launch to landing. Great entertainment that, like you said, never gets old. Deployment is a bonus
📡 Watched via SpaceX Starlink! Great as ever! 😎✌️
Every launch looks like a casual event, but still is a complex and impressive.
Soon, in the foreseeable future, StarShip launches will be the same.
In the mid 60's THIS would have been science fiction...... I never tire of it.
Crazy how SpaceX makes this routine seem like a walk in the park whilst other companies such as Blue Origin make it look like an impossible unachievable Guinness World Record.
Musk. .. "Bezos is spending too much time partying and not enough time figuring out how to get into orbit". 😄
@@pimpshark musk has nothing to do with this engineering except adding an hostile work environment… most people even think he founded tesla..
@@erebostd Of course Musk has nothing to do with it. That’s why Bezos is flying to orbit at least once a week now as well. 😆🤡
@@pimpshark Musk is an investor and not an engineer but he has been way more successful than Bezos in creating a cult following. I don't really care for either, but I am not an american so I am not really into the whole "worship the rich" thing.
I can’t help but notice that as well. The landings are getting ridiculous. Not sure if they can get any more accurate.
Watching these launches and landings just never gets old, I still get a thrill every time watching each 1st stage landing even though its become so routine. Well done SpaceX
That glimpse of the tiny drone ship through the grid fin from about 4km up is stunning, it looks like the booster will miss until the last few seconds. Wow!
I suspect the trajectory is intentionally a miss until the last few seconds so as not to trash the drone ship if something goes wrong.
The amount of control there was unbelievable. Stage 1 has a mind (and grid fins) of its own. Hahaa
@@TheUweRoss correct, it’s designed to miss the ship or pad if the engines don’t start or the grid fins fail. However I did think on this flight that it was further from its target then normal. Not long after entry there was some pretty rough turbulence, I’m thinking the upper winds carried it a bit further than normal. The booster has an inertial navigation system, probably uses gps too. The ship uses GPS to keep station, so there are inaccuracies with that. To get the accuracy need the booster has radar, so at some stage it has to transition from flying to a set of coordinates to using the radar to get an accurate relative location. I wonder if it was a bit late getting a fix on the barge.
As a kid I was witness of the first launches from American soil (via TV of course). I remember that my Neighbor had one of the first color TV's, a huge box with colors that were too saturated but nonetheless color. I wanted to see live coverage of the Apollo 10 launch so I asked if I could see it on their TV. They said yes and I was allowed to invite some friends. So at the right moment we sat in front of that TV. Our neighbor was an elderly very nice woman and she had all kinds of treats and drinks prepared for us. It still is a nice memory. During Apollo 11 I was hospitalized due to appendicitis. My father had smuggled in a little transistor radio so I could listen to the Eagle landing on the moon. It was nighttime in The Netherlands when that happened. I listened to the radio underneath my blankets as silent as possible. Then suddenly my blankets were lifted and the head nurse asked me: "Have they landed yet?". Golden memories.
SpaceX makes things look so easy but it isn't.
Nasa makes rockets look dammed near impossible. 50+ years and $500 billion since Apollo without a single American getting beyond low orbit leaving itself incompetent/incapable of crewing or even resupplying our own space station… just one unaffordable, unsustainable dead end boondoggle after another. Now the $4+ billion per flight SLS/Orion. #defundNasa
gloire à stanley kubrick
First i thought "oh, just 20min, probably scrubbed"
But no, its just a regular launch (and landing) of a SpaceX rocket.
Its so satisfying
Loved the landing - as usual! But what was cool this time was seeing the shadow of the landing, not usually visible - but a sunny afternoon did the trick!
Yes, glad you mentioned that! 😎✌️
Seriously impressive quality control at SpaceX to achieve this level of reliability. Well done, SpaceX.
SpaceX evolves every day, this is great.

Congratulations on orbital class booster landing #190. Can't wait to see #200 later this year. Beautiful clear day at Vandenberg.
Yes it was very nice to see clear day at Vandenberg ..
it would be awesome if starship was the 200th successful launch.
@@gregoryfernandez6676 👍👍
@@gregoryfernandez6676 the last launch (this one) got them to 200 straight mission successes in a row from Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy. A record unmatched by any other launch provider.
The views from space never get old
Never gets old!
Dumb
This has become so routine that I think we all tend to forget how difficult this is and how much work went into making this literally like an airline in reliability. If Spacex does the same with Starship, we will have finally have freed ourselves of confinement to this planet and can seriously consider moving out into the solar system in a serious way. There is going to be huge amounts of money to be made by those with a vision and willingness to risk.
No matter how many times I see a booster landing it's still amazing and exciting!
All that in under 10 minutes 😮
I love how the first stage coasts upward another 30+ kilometers after engine shutdown. That’s a ton of momentum.
So amazing 🇺🇸 Elon Musk and Spacex is another reason to be proud to be an American!🇺🇸
I can never get amazed enough about how they lift a ricket off the land and land the booster on a small floating platform in the middle of nowhere. Truely amazing.
Can't believe this is routine now. Whoa!
Clear weather~ and Beautiful launching
Watching from a Starlink receiver out in the middle of nowhere. Wouldn’t be possible without these launches.😀
Congratulations once again SpaceX! The world remains in awe!
Brilliant! Thanks for sharing. 🚀🚀🚀👍
When the Orbital Rocket Booster lands you can hear everyone cheer at 17:27
It looked like it was heading for a wet landing
@@tezhug1890 They stay over the water until the last moment so that a falling booster doesn't hit the drone ship if the engines fail
What is it at 14:10 left the bottom corner it’s huge
Noted the strong winds, and big waves. Nice mission even in this harder conditions. 👍

@@moneymakingabab3604 You have very good eyes!
It is some dirt/piece of ice deattached from the booster, and since it is on ballistic trajectiry then, it flies with the booster (floating beside). When the booster's cold gas thruster starts (adjusting attitude) for a split second (a small very short flash), the piece is blown away by the gas.
It’s crazy when starlink missions are so routine they don’t even show the deployment
Always amazed
The shadow of the landing booster was so cool!
SPACE!!!
Is cool
Watching the Boosters shadow coming across the waves and on to the drone ship was like a cinema image, amazing stuff.
Congrats on the Haven-1 and Vast-1contracts!
Amazing that it was crystal clear at Vandenberg for once.
Commenting that booster landings never get old is starting to get old.
That landing was super smooth. I'm sorry, but it simply never gets old. Congratulations SpaceX.
Nice job! Thanks, Spacex. 🙂👍
Here's to Superheavy & Starship becoming this routine.
Congratulations again! The yt closed captions crack me up. T+10: "He goes fishing down range", T+20 "and what do you tall a pregnant mom". Haha!
It will never be a routine! With each launch, always a new success! Congratulations to all of this great team of professionals!
@Farah Chanel 🤷♂️
Beautiful landing!
Congrats
We drove down from Monterey to watch this. What a beautiful day and the launch was spectacular. Best part was talking with some of the SpaceX employees who were near by. Nicest group of people you could meet.
X Marks the spot!! Another SpacX landing!! Great work!!
Just imagine you are an employee at this company, and you see the results of your work almost every day, and see how much you matter. 💜
Amazing work.. as an older dude I amazed by these and they never get old. I remember watching the first shuttle launches at home when I was a kid, leaps and bounds are being made at such a rate, incredible effort as usual.
The most underrated aspect of theses launches is SpaceX's improvement of the video feed. Their ability to get high quality live shots from the rocket as well as the drone ship while landing. I remember before, they had trouble with the drone ship shots because of vibration.
Congrats 🎉
I'd like the script updated so that the second "transsonic" callout explanation reminds viewers that the booster is *_slowing_* to around the speed of sound.
Awesome stuff
This generation is blessed to have an inspiration like Elon musk. The real G.O.A.T
14:12 On the left side you can see a bird in space, flapping its wings.
And in a second this miracle is blown away by a jet of fire
What the heck is that?
Very weird, and convincing image pf a flying bird at an altitude of 118km.
@@NewFADS17 Hard to say. Something that came loose from the booster? Space debris? It suddenly flies away because of a firing thruster. At 13:32 there's more debris.
It looks alot like a piece of trash
It's incredible how precise these landings have gotten. Damn
Awesome mission #30. Go SpaceX. 👍👍👍👍
Wow thats really good congrats 👏
Every time the boosters land is an achievement
Cant wait for a successful orbit of starship. The launch was so impressive and just by watching i could feel the power behind this beast 💪🏻
It just amazes me every time i see a booster land on a floating platform in the middle of the ocean
Well done, again to all involved.
Love watching these launches and what seems like routine landings, on my Starlink internet. Living in a rural area, Starlink has performed better than I expected, didn't even lose connection during a blizzard.
Wonderful to see every time
Great webcast narration
How ever many times I see this I find it hard to comprehend amazing
It is incredible how commonplace SpaceX has made these launches/landings! Great job!
Awesome to see the shadow of the booster while landing on OCISLY at 17:20!
Very nice
SpaceX just another flawless day in the office; I mean the launch pad...:) never ever gets old!
Nice
Nicely done, SpaceX team. That looked like a clean launch and booster recovery from my perspective. Cya soon for the next one. 😀
Another Outstanding Launch
I'm looking forward to the day when SpaceX can strap some boosters on a giant ham sandwich and launch it into low-earth orbit. How cool would it be to have the moon eclipsed by something so delicious?
Thanks! Nice that the person doing the commentary had spaces where the launch was allowed to speak for itself. All the best
Can’t wait to go to space myself in 50 years ❤
Would love to see you go to space in 50 years, but I would be 112 then!
@@macdieter23558 Me too, but I’d be 121. Maybe we can go on the same mission.
I eat eggs
You all are awesome!
Thank you team. Love you
Outstanding job to everyone involved.
Another great view of the landing.
SpaceX is the goat
puts me in a sense of awe everytime.
Watched replay via SpaceX Starlink! 😎✌️
Cannot even imagine the amount of crazy complex things involved in such a masterpiece of engineering.
It's amazing how 'routine' it feels. Well done SpaceX :)
Spacex makes it look so easy. And it's not!
@@joeyjamison5772 Exactly!
190 times and it’s still amazes me every single time
By now I saw every start - and landing, including the RUDs. Addicted to that!
I can't wait until Starship is this routine. Amazing work that the Space-X folks are doing!
17:22 the best image definition that I remember...
Landing these boosters feels like such a routine activity by now. I’m excited for all the engineers and and ground personnel that will be trained in such cutting edge tech environment.
3:39 Mission Briefing (T-5 Minutes)
Congratulations @SpaceX 🙌🚀
30th Launch of 2023.
229th Launch Overall.
Looking forward to see Starship launch successfully❤❤
Wow how technology is brought to all of us these great things such as cell phones and AI and even these rockets that can transport cargo to the international space station and even these launches and landings so amazing so cool 😎
Love from India ❤️
Alway fantastic...all..mission..from spaceX
AMAZING, what SpaceX is doing!!! GOD Bless America!
Great Job
Interesting orbit!
SpaceX inspires me to do my best when I feel like it.
I love the launches that occur about an hour after sunset. They’re amazing. The math associated with it all would make my brain explode.
Cannot wait to see these launches happen irl one day in FL
boosters landing so smooth
OH look it has a flame trench..would be nice to see something like that at BOCA
Rather than dig a trench at Boca they raised the table nice and high. What the skipped was the diverter that would usually sit under there.
