    I have owned mine for 4 months. Adjusting the dampers is a must to something in comfort and you can kind of leave it there. From dealer it was set to the stiffest on front and rear. I was real concerned, but after adjusting I was happy. 20 clicks in the front and 12 in the rear. Love the car, I don't really have issues with the changing of modes. I leave it in hybrid because the throttle response is better than in pure. One pedal tuning really is just amazing.

      This car is on my list for the next daily, but seeing Car Care Nut reviews that reveal the overly complex Rube Goldberg powertrain designs of Volvos is a concern. Normally, I buy cars with cash and keep them for at least 100K miles. With Volvo, I’d have to lease and deal with low residual value or get a 100K warranty.

    • @zammypowerpro
      @zammypowerpro 24 дні тому +10

      @@hardykornfeld1733 the powertrain has become more simple than pre-2023 models. There is no longer a supercharger and turbo, just a turbo now. I have not watched the care care nut video but this is my understanding and from forums I have not seen any major issues with Volvo PHEV powertrain.

    • @The_Stanman
      @The_Stanman 23 дні тому

      Does Polestar mode change aspects other than PHEV settings? I test drove the Panamera PHEV after Volvo and loved having drive mode dial on steering wheel. Beyond EV vs Hybrid, it allows you to quickly put in Sport mode to attack some corner. Beyond keeping ICE on, it changes suspension, shift logic and shift speed, etc. I guess since you can't adjust dampers on the fly, accessing Polestar mode easily is less important?

    • @zammypowerpro
      @zammypowerpro 23 дні тому +1

      @@The_Stanman Engine is always on in Polestar mode and uses battery for full "attack". Throttle response is much higher. You can look up Polestar Tuning and see what they have done in the mode. There is specific chassis tuning that is done, but that would not be toggled in the mode selection.

    • @The_Stanman
      @The_Stanman 23 дні тому

      @@zammypowerpro gotcha 👍🏼 ya, sounds like overall switching to Polestar mode on the fly is less critical than other cars since it changes fewer things, so less of an issue that it's in the screen.

      Definitely the way to do it. Or nab a great lease with $7500 tax credit and big discounts. We recently shopped for XC90 and dealer offered $10K off before even negotiating. Their products haven't changed in a decade, so they're using discounts to move.

    I have a ‘22 XC60 T8 Extended Range which is similar in performance. Just missing the suspension, B&W & the goldie bits 😂 absolutely LOVE this car.
    A couple gripes:
    I wish there was an indicator that tells you the charge door is open though.
    Infotainment has improved but it’s true the drive modes are annoying to access.
    No HD Radio or radio text info! The Sensus Volvos had this available, kind of a weird omission on such expensive vehicles.

    I’ve had my white V60 for about a month. I’m coming from a BMW X5. We also have a ‘23 BMW i4 that my wife drives. While I was attracted to the V60 I was afraid that it wouldn’t measure up to the BMWs. So far, after about 1200 miles, it has. It’s terrific. I’ve read a lot of complaints about the screen, entertainment system, and related. I have minor complaints, but in a way I like it better than the new BMW system which I find to be overbearing. And after a couple days it becomes second nature. Pure mode is fine around town - very smooth, and spunky enough. Polestar mode is very fast and is a blast to drive. The Bowers & Wilkins audio system is extraordinary. That alone almost makes the car worth. The overall styling is beautiful… Swedish understatement.

    Hot Wagons are elite vehicles. I love that they're slowly making a comeback in the US now that modern styling has made them cool. So much better than an SUV from a driving perspective.
    I love the fit and finish on Volvo Interiors- but the technology experience leaves me consistently underwhelmed. I drove a Polestar 2 for a month and a Volvo S90 for about 3. It's super intuitive but it feels surface deep. Idk- I like going into menus and being able to customize things about the car- but Volvo seems to want you to just...drive.

    Never clicked on a Topher video so fast.
    Love my '23. I will say there are a couple issues in 13K miles for anyone considering:
    - HVCH, or electric heater failure. Replaced under warranty and can get around using the gas engine. Parts available immediately so not bad.
    - TCAM which is the car connectivity module still craps out occasionally, probably 6 times since I've owned the car. This means you will lose all navigation/internet services until you do a key cycle or fuse reset.
    - Sporadic ERAD failures. The ERAD is the rear electric motor. If this fails you get a CEL and obviously reduced power. Hasn't happened on mine yet, and Volvo did release an ERAD2 sometime after the 22/22.5 years, but this is definitely something to be mindful of.
    - Predicative Efficiency feature drops out on longer trips. Not a huge deal, but wished Volvo would fix via OTA.
    - AAOS 3.0 update, which upgrades the system to Android 13 has been disastrous, tons of bugs like blown speakers, HVAC issues, camera bugs, etc. It has been pulled already but cars that have already updated are stuck on it until Volvo pushes out a fix. Be mindful when looking at 24 or 25 years in the dealerships, check the version in the settings!
    I still love the car though. It is the best daily do it all bar none, and if you like non-lifted/cladding wagons it's a dying breed, one of only 3 on sale (RS6, Taycan).

    The infotainment system is really horrible compared to example BMW...
    Design on the main screen and what options, features etc you have in the Volvo is very limited and confusing.
    Also you are not able to change any layout in the DIM except if you want to show Google Maps in the middle or not.
    And using Google in the car is so bad integration too and their way of presenting settings is not good either.
    There are no longer any paddle shifters (if you like those) and the placement of the + and - for the gearlever, if you want to use that, is as dumb as it can be.
    Also the hard plastic hollow sound with the locking and unlocking of the car so not something you look for in the price.
    Unfortunately they have moved away from driving a car to just ride. They were really on a good way with the "real" previous Polestar cars of S60 and V60. After 2018 everything has changed. Even removed the Drive Mode wheel that was behind the Start button before is now gone... in this price range just pick a BMW Touring, likely the G21 M340i and you will be way more happy and get a better car in every way (drivetrain, chassi, build quality, material, infotainment, engine sound etc) for the money.

Imagine something like this with an actual spare tire instead of the electric motor and all sorts of "adaptive" modes, NA 3.5L V6, DCT and manual offering, $50k. Instead you pay for brembos but it brakes with an electric motor lol. $70k to get to work in prius mode because you just gotta have a car that does it all.

    70 K for a stiff, crashy ride and probably bad steering feel doesn’t seem a good package to me. All the good things about it is overshadowed by the ride and pre-programmed rattles. Ask me how I know lol! I sold my previous gen V60 with a huge loss. That’s how disappointed I was. Any german car beats the sh out of this fakery. In fact I find that even a Golf rides better than the V60. Apart from the looks and “image” Volvo has nothing much going for it.
