Steve G bruh that’s like pure foresight. Not a broken bone. A splinter of bone in his ankle. With a broken bone you can't play at all. I mean is not that I want to make it seem like a minor problem, because it wasn't. The fact is that most players in his condition would've signed off for the series. He didn't...with that bone splinter on his ankle. And a broken casted index finger in his shooting hand. And recurring knee problems that forced him to go through surgery in the summer of that year. And probably a half dozen of other health issues we never got to know about. Best part of it is we didn't know anything about any of that other than the finger (the cast was impossible to not notice) during the series. He didn't make any excuses. He didn't complain about not being in top condition. He didn't sit down in the bench on the (Valid) grounds he was barely able to walk without infiltrations. He instead stepped on the court and won, and let noone out of the organization know in exactly how much of an atrocious phisical condition he was. I always roll my eyes when I read the many comments and criticism about his awful shooting in that series particularily in game 7. People still comment that Gasol should've been Finals MVP in that series. Shit, I'm spanish, I love Pau to the bone, best player we've ever had by far and one of the most talented big men who've ever played the game...and Pau indeed had a MONSTER series in an all out war against KG, Rasheed, etc. He did merits for a finals MVP, no question... But Kobe WAS the MVP of that series. The legit one. Dude was literally a walking wreck and he still managed to push his team to win against an absolute MONSTER of a team as Boston after coming back from being down 2-3 in the series. That's beyond stunning, that's unbelievable, and that's something that will put him up there with MJ in the all greats for me no matter what anyone says.

Being a Pistons fan it’s kind of cool to hear Kobe reflect on the 2004 NBA Finals. I wouldn’t blame it on Kobe though the Pistons had a hard working Defense and good talent all around
Dude Ben wallace was a fucken beast that year. But i really thought lakers was gonna win tho. Thats when we had the super team it was a huge disappointment.
Kobe played horrible basketball. They let Ben Wallace defend 1 v 1 with Shaq, Shaq kept scoring on Wallace so the team kept feeding him which left Kobe frustrated and made him turn to hero ball which ruined the Lakers offence. Kobe was garbage that series.
Literally up past my bedtime and watched this whole interview. I absolutely LOVE Kobe! Love his game, love his wisdom, love his work ethic! He will forever live in all our hearts 🥲🥲 Rest in GREATNESS King Kobe (and Princess Gigi)
I needed to see this, as a huge LA fan, especially of this Shaq & Kobe era. This vid for some reason took a huge load off of me. I don't know why, but, this is what I wanted to see from them. Don't know when this came out, I might be late but, it definitely healed something within me. Guess it's seeing them one on one, and just talking & airing out all of their thoughts & feelings about each other, like brothers. And, it's humbling to hear Kobe say, that 1st championship together was for Shaq. So dope, best 1, 2 punch in NBA history, I even put them over MJ & Pippen, soley because of the "beef" that was there. Wish they stuck together longer, they definitely wouldve had at least 7 or 8 Championships, easily. Best part of this vid, was when Shaq said he tore his whole house up when Kobe won his 5th, lol! That was so humbling & dope to hear him admit, even though us fans already knew what it was, lmao! #LakersNation
In reality both regret their immaturity. They could have won easily 6 at least... Man should be hard to know that has a duo you destroyed what could have been the greatest dynasty in NBA.
This duo was/is everything too me, I’ve learned so much from both of them. From Shaq I learned too just abuse everyone in the low post. From Kobe I learned too be the hardest worker in the gym. These guys are Legends. R.I.P mamba
Wow so much insight it gave a new perspective on they dynamics between those two. That’s the best interview I’ve seen in a long time to have Shaq interview Koby and you can see the love, respect, and adoration they have for each other. Great memories! Thanks for sharing!
It really pisses me off how MJ fans and media under play Kobe... he won 2 without Shaq. 36:00 always with a broken finger seems like a decade in one of a finger. Media talking about a flu game... for "superhuman" please Kobe rolled his ankle during first finals and comes back and with the Celtics has broken finger and bone spurs and all the fans is cherry pick game 7 cause he shot poorly but had a sick amount of rebounds.
As the leader more important he believed in his team and they believed in him and he would lead them to win the Chip. Not that BS I AVERAGED A TRIPLE DOUBLE, WE NEED MORE HELP. MAKING YOUR TEAMMATES FEEL AS IF THEY ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH AND THEIR LEADER ISNT GOOD ENOUGH TO LEAD US TO VICTORY SMH REAL TALK!!!
So here's Kobe winning game 4 with 48 pts after a recent career playoff high Shaq fouls out with 2 min or so to go 1 pt game. Kings Series (Lose that likely no Finals) ua-cam.com/video/m7QZaZJu2yM/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/eNFvYFjeyLM/v-deo.html Kobe with a hurt ankle playing OT after Shaq fouled out. Many Kobe haters are MJ or LBJ fans good so no cramps or flu... a rolled ankle in OT crushing it.
not even close. anfernee hardaway as a rookie put up better numbers playing with shaq than kobe did for his first 5 years. they also went to finals their second year together and beat the jordan bulls. much harder when phil was coaching the other team. no, no, no, no, no. both hardaway and wade were better statistically with shaq than kobe was.
I embrace Kobe Bryant greatness grew up admiring his hard work and started applying it to my life thumbs up rip kobe gg and the others god blessed yall families
Kobe has one of the greatest mindsets a person can have & it's hard to not like the guy when you think about it. Expecting greatness from yourself & those around you is possibly one of the greatest traits a person can have yet people claim he's toxic for it.
Helluva GREAT clip... two of the realest, chopping it up like old friends should be able to do, because real friendships almost always have to endure rough, bumpy rides.
Kyrie wants to be like kobe .what I mean about that is how kobe wanted to leave the lakers because he didn’t want people to say that kobe won’t win rings without shaq. Kyrie doesn’t want people to say that he only won rings because of lebron . That’s why kyrie moved . #mambamentality

Being a Pistons fan it’s kind of cool to hear Kobe reflect on the 2004 NBA Finals. I wouldn’t blame it on Kobe though the Pistons had a hard working Defense and good talent all around
Freddy ..I live in Michigan. I’m a die hard lakers fan. I was so mad when The Pistons beat us.
Dude Ben wallace was a fucken beast that year. But i really thought lakers was gonna win tho. Thats when we had the super team it was a huge disappointment.
I still feel bad for the mailman.
Freddy that defense was great
Kobe played horrible basketball. They let Ben Wallace defend 1 v 1 with Shaq, Shaq kept scoring on Wallace so the team kept feeding him which left Kobe frustrated and made him turn to hero ball which ruined the Lakers offence. Kobe was garbage that series.
I came to the video just to hear why Kobe almost left the Lakers and watch the whole thing. Mamba and Diesel greatest 1-2 punch # Laker4life
Seeing the respect and love that comes from wisdom of old wounds with these two is something that is too beautiful for words to even describe.
Best interview EVER 2 GOATS reminiscing on their glory days doing wat they loved. Pure Gold
12pm 11/30/19
40 minutes of me smiling
"You remember playing against the Queens?" That's savage disrespect to Sacramento lol
What makes it worse is that Shaq is a part-owner of the Kings 😂
@@IntermitenciaMental shaq coined the nickname lol
Kobe Tribute video I made guys! Lmk what do you think!

Greatest 1,2 punch, Big Little combo in NBA History
King Savage you a stupid dumbass
King Savage your a dumbass
King Savage I’m sorry if thats your opinion or not, but you are braindead
It's good to see this interview.
It really is.
Go Lakers....
Literally up past my bedtime and watched this whole interview. I absolutely LOVE Kobe! Love his game, love his wisdom, love his work ethic! He will forever live in all our hearts 🥲🥲 Rest in GREATNESS King Kobe (and Princess Gigi)
Nothing but love for these guys.❤️. Kobe won 5 babyyy😂😂❤️
Loved every minute of this interview
In reality both regret their immaturity. They could have won easily 6 at least... Man should be hard to know that has a duo you destroyed what could have been the greatest dynasty in NBA.
the mamba was an asshole..he was consumed of his jealousy to Shaq.
Cain Marco did you even watch the vid
6 is a stretch. Maybe 4 or 5...but with the emergence of the Spurs, Mavs, and Suns...I highly doubt they would’ve had more.
@@lablueguy2000 xxxxxxc
@@BooBooDaFoo330 they would have kobe played in 3 straight without him and won 2..So easily they woulda got 6 still together
This dude kobe will scout players in summer just so he can be prepared
We woulda loved Kobe in Chicago… RIP to one of the greatest.
Edward Brito And he made CLUTCH shots when the game was on the line. ALSO, HE was double a d tripped team!
Edward Brito well put
Yea those first three championships were shaqs. He dominated, and most of the team liked him better than kobe.
So here's Kobe winning game 4 with 48 pts after a recent career playoff high Shaq fouls out with 2 min or so to go 1 pt game. Kings Series (Lose that likely no Finals)

Kobe with a hurt ankle playing OT after Shaq fouled out. Many Kobe haters are MJ or LBJ fans good so no cramps or flu... a rolled ankle in OT crushing it.
They both carry the L.A back then !! greatest Dou ever and the best 12punch combo of all time
#DieselMamba834
Kobe is like my little sister. Always got the one up on me. The way he looks at shaq. Thats the love you have for a brother. Best duo.
This was beautiful to watch
Shaq and Kobe had me crying in the end (co allstar MVP throphy) GOATS
And Shareef has the iconic Lob Pass Kobe to Shaq Tattoo.../ Shareef was like a nephew to Kobe...Man I missed Kobe.
This makes my soul happy. Damn I miss Kobe
you might say MJ is better than Kobe, but you can't say Shaq and Kobe aren't the best big/little combo the NBA has ever seen
not even close. anfernee hardaway as a rookie put up better numbers playing with shaq than kobe did for his first 5 years. they also went to finals their second year together and beat the jordan bulls. much harder when phil was coaching the other team. no, no, no, no, no. both hardaway and wade were better statistically with shaq than kobe was.
Lebron is way better than kobe as well,
@@bboliver725 I agree, but unfortunately Penny didn't stay healthy or that would've been a dynasty for sure...
@@Enoughsenoughnomas Lebron isn't considered a little.....
@@adriangarcia5908 he has run the point far more than kobe ever did
I embrace Kobe Bryant greatness grew up admiring his hard work and started applying it to my life thumbs up rip kobe gg and the others god blessed yall families
Great conversation. Wish it was longer.
When he was talking about reggie miller that is the definition of mamba mentality . Amazing to look back in 2018
2019 i miss kobe
This is beautiful man. Good stuff.
This just brought tears. RIP mamba
Kobe has one of the greatest mindsets a person can have & it's hard to not like the guy when you think about it. Expecting greatness from yourself & those around you is possibly one of the greatest traits a person can have yet people claim he's toxic for it.
Kobe...you're not an outsider anymore! Respect
It's nice to hear the "behind the scenes" from themselves
This man is great. I respect him more and more over the years. I am a big fan. Let's not forget this man. 8 and 24 retired.
Kobe is the greatest to ever do it. Period.
“That’s bbq chicken” Shaq 🤣
Bbq chicken is the best food on earth tho...
😂😂😂😂 I was so dead
This comment has 34............just like shaqs laker number
True sincerity, teammates, and overachievers!!! Love those Guys!!!!
Not gonna lie Horry was clutch asf
CJ2K- Daily Videos I remember watching that game I liked both teams at that tyme they both had good squads and horry hit that shot Woooooooooah

CJ2K- TSTO and more! And / or wide open due to the whole defense doubling Shaq and kobe
Greatest. Sports. Interview. Ever. Thanks for the memories you two!
Helluva GREAT clip... two of the realest, chopping it up like old friends should be able to do, because real friendships almost always have to endure rough, bumpy rides.
glad they squashed their beef
A Izzy me too kobe and shaq is best friends they did lot together so is good that they are freinds again like old days
they did not lol. you need to read between the lines.
A Izzy lol Kobe lowkey ruined Shaq marriage
Ain’t no squashing beef at that point this was for the money
bb oliver exactly.
damn....these two could've changed HISTORY FOREVER had they got their shit together
I’m so incredibly Happy they did this ❤️ We’ll always it to come back to 🤗🤗
Kyrie wants to be like kobe .what I mean about that is how kobe wanted to leave the lakers because he didn’t want people to say that kobe won’t win rings without shaq. Kyrie doesn’t want people to say that he only won rings because of lebron . That’s why kyrie moved . #mambamentality
he could have waited a year until lebron joined us
ULTIMATESPRINGTRAP248 nobody with sense should want to play in that org with that terrible owner.
My nigga could have waited until his contract was up though. Shit he can come back now
nah, kyrie will never ever ever win another ring tf. can't count on two hands the number of players that can carry a team better than him
He not winning shit else bro
