      Steve G bruh that’s like pure foresight. I’ve heard crazy stories of MJ trying to get a competitive edge but for Kobe to memorize his specific movements on both sides of the ball and then to use that knowledge against him months later down the road to beat him is crazy. Reggie Miller will never live that down. I bet he felt he was robbed after hearing that lol.

      @@BlackRoyalty_ one of the first things Michael brings up in the 1992 Dream Team documentary, being around all his main competition in the early and mid 90's, he would learn about those stars and gain an advantage. Talk about hyper-competitive lol. The thing that enticed him was not to win another gold medal, for the powerhouse USA basketball, but to gain an advantage. That's why he's seen as the GOAT to most and to me aswell.

      Ned Orton, I can't stand how impersonal MJ is!!! He seems selfish in compliments toward others who aren't named Magic, Bird, Kareem etc.
      But Kobe is sooooo hated on!!
      Magic will always be number 1 player in my book appreciating any & every teammate who contributed to the success of the teams he was on!!!

    • @dash4800
      @dash4800 5 років тому +41

      The difference is MJ wants to murder life itself. He views everything as a competition, no matter how mundane. Kobe i think only was that way about basketball. You also have to wonder if MJ is irritated that he left so many prime years on the table with 2 premature retirements, so now he has to hear people debate his legacy. Kobe got injured badly so he knows he gave it his all. That changes how you look back on things.

    • @AlexiET3
      @AlexiET3 5 років тому +24

      dash4800 not even a competition, Jordan just thinks he’s God because everybody painted him as such in the 90’s. They called him the Goat after his first three peat for Christ’s sake, they gave him a high horse and he’ll never come down. Kobe gives credit where credit is due as a real man should

      @Balal8281 5 років тому +4

      Al Chapo I don’t agree that Kobe gives credit where it’s due. I believe Kobe picks and chooses who he wants to give his credit to. When it comes to the Pistons, he’s always been a hater and it shows. Like how in this video he said “on the pistons thing...” he’s trying to downplay their place in NBA history. They weren’t a “thing”, they were the greatest defensive team of all time, even more so than the bad boy pistons who are right behind them at 2nd. And they ran the eastern conference for years. And if you remember when he lost to the Celtics I believe in the finals, he said in a post game conference “this isn’t the pistons when the bulls beat them and they disappear forever.” Yet 13 years later they re-emerge and beat YOU and your Laker super team in the finals? And you just completely disregard that in ‘08 like it never happened. Please. He’s not a real man about that. He’s just gonna keep jerking off the lakers organization and anything MJ or Shaq-related. That being said I’m still a huge Kobe fan

    Kobe said he played with a broken bone in his ankle and they still won the championship... goat

    • @ramjb
      @ramjb 6 років тому +45

      Not a broken bone. A splinter of bone in his ankle. With a broken bone you can't play at all.
      I mean is not that I want to make it seem like a minor problem, because it wasn't. The fact is that most players in his condition would've signed off for the series. He didn't...with that bone splinter on his ankle. And a broken casted index finger in his shooting hand. And recurring knee problems that forced him to go through surgery in the summer of that year. And probably a half dozen of other health issues we never got to know about.
      Best part of it is we didn't know anything about any of that other than the finger (the cast was impossible to not notice) during the series. He didn't make any excuses. He didn't complain about not being in top condition. He didn't sit down in the bench on the (Valid) grounds he was barely able to walk without infiltrations. He instead stepped on the court and won, and let noone out of the organization know in exactly how much of an atrocious phisical condition he was.
      I always roll my eyes when I read the many comments and criticism about his awful shooting in that series particularily in game 7. People still comment that Gasol should've been Finals MVP in that series. Shit, I'm spanish, I love Pau to the bone, best player we've ever had by far and one of the most talented big men who've ever played the game...and Pau indeed had a MONSTER series in an all out war against KG, Rasheed, etc. He did merits for a finals MVP, no question...
      But Kobe WAS the MVP of that series. The legit one. Dude was literally a walking wreck and he still managed to push his team to win against an absolute MONSTER of a team as Boston after coming back from being down 2-3 in the series. That's beyond stunning, that's unbelievable, and that's something that will put him up there with MJ in the all greats for me no matter what anyone says.

    I needed to see this, as a huge LA fan, especially of this Shaq & Kobe era. This vid for some reason took a huge load off of me. I don't know why, but, this is what I wanted to see from them. Don't know when this came out, I might be late but, it definitely healed something within me. Guess it's seeing them one on one, and just talking & airing out all of their thoughts & feelings about each other, like brothers. And, it's humbling to hear Kobe say, that 1st championship together was for Shaq. So dope, best 1, 2 punch in NBA history, I even put them over MJ & Pippen, soley because of the "beef" that was there. Wish they stuck together longer, they definitely wouldve had at least 7 or 8 Championships, easily. Best part of this vid, was when Shaq said he tore his whole house up when Kobe won his 5th, lol! That was so humbling & dope to hear him admit, even though us fans already knew what it was, lmao! #LakersNation
