One glarring stand out for me is when people regurgitate the idea that xbox hasnt been any kind of competition for playstation for the last several years or even the last decade, are the amount of 3rd party deals Sony seems to contiue to make, year after year , and even month after month. Now please follow my train of thought for a moment. Because their 1st parties aren't ready yet. That's why. Alot of them have been shifted into a live service development, completely foreign to them, or have multiple titles on the go. They didnt pay all these dev teams to keep games off of Xbox, some sure, but not even close to most of them. Those dev teams chose to release a single SKU, or skip Xbox, because it might cost them more money than they can recoup on that platform. Yeah Granblue is crazy good, it's almost the exact perfect game I've been waiting years for someone to make. Really great fast paced combo focused gameplay with a pretty fun loot system/character progression mechanics. The difficulty stuff isn't a big deal imo because like most other action games the real "difficulty" is in properly figuring out how to play your character outside of a training dummy. To each's own, but I gotta strong disagree with Colin on Granblue Fantasy not being very good. It's like if Tales, Monster Hunter, and Final Fantasy XIV had an adorable, yet trope-y anime baby. I am absolutely loving the build crafting, character diversity, and overall gameplay loop. The story is serviceable enough to move you along. Nothing groundbreaking, but hoo boy is it a blast to play. I can't wait to play more! Another awesome episode as always. Thanks for all the amazing content lads! Keep it up!
Economics guy here. Unions have negative extranalities on the upper tier workers, tending to push their productivity down . Lower tier workers are protected and harder to excise. There tends to be incentives that push away from human capital. Innovation tends to go down as high performing employees have less inventice to work harder. Unions have benefits but they certainly have cons
I'm confused as to how Colin can boast about how right he was and still say that we don't actually know whats going to happen at the same time. And honestly I really don't see how he was right about GP even if Xbox does launch their games on PS. Just because MS want to make more money does not mean they were not already profitable, and their numbers would suggest the GP is indeed profitable.
I hated the acquisition too, I dislike how Xbox handles studios, and I dislike how Xbox influencers champion every decision/game Xbox makes but I don't like how overjoyed Colin gets when talking about Xbox's failures and 'letting them drown'. It's sad to see. Xbox owns a large chunk of this industry now. As people who love 'games', we should all hope that everyone succeeds.
I think you're reading way too much into Colin's emotions. Lol Also, Xbox becoming less of a competitor or outright failing would be one of the worst things for gamers. Sony not trying is not a good thing.
Hey Dustin, if you have to go to your chiropractor 1 to 3 times a year, for your hip, you're not fixing your hip. You're simply putting a Band-Aid on it. You need a proper physiotherapist with some conditioning and strength training to fix your hip. I've torn my Achilles, had sciatica in my back, and just had a myriad of injuries from wrestling and sports and let me tell you, the only person that fixed it, was an actual physiotherapist with proper strength and conditioning training.
As an Australian, Uncharted 2 and 3 felt huge. 2 was so hyped that I skipped a school excursion to play it on launch. 3, I worked at GAME (while it was still around) and next to Skyrim was one of the biggest game releases that year.
I’m glad you spoke a bit about the IGN Union news happening… I have a lot of questions and concerns about it, and I don’t feel like any of the spots discussing it really tackled anything I was confused or uninformed about with it. I think it’s foolish that none of them wanted to talk with you, especially since they did do some interviews about it with Kinda Funny and a few other outlets. If they were truly concerned with getting as much support as they can, they would talk to everyone they could without a second thought. What I find weird with everything is how some people we would expect to be supportive of this haven’t said anything (like Peer and a few others). The whole situation definitely has things to discuss or debate about, but I feel like there’s a lot missing for people like me and others who don’t feel like we have all the facts and important info. Here’s hoping more clarity about it is made soon, and hopefully nothing bad comes out of it. And here’s hoping they actually decide to talk to you or someone like you to answer some of the tougher/bigger questions with their Union.
41:20 i have a kid who is 4 years old now and i had fine the time when he was very young to play video game. Plus all the other stuff that i was doing prior to have him biking, running. The SSKTJL write in was kinda cringe. Everyone who doesn’t like the game isn’t a “hater.” They just don’t like the game And the game is flop, so no the sales won’t “silence the haters.” It’s doing terrible concurrent numbers
LoL Dustin moves his mic with his face, not his hands hahaha. He DOES have his audio set up legitimately, you don't hear any pops or anything at all (most mics make some kind of noise when a human head bashes into it)
so the chiropractor thing, i was in a car accident at like 10 years old and we discovered years later that my spine may have grown out of allignment as a result. ie. in the top half if was twisting one way and the bottom half was twisting the other, and it was concidered to be the main source of my back pain going to a chiropractor was the least invasive treatment to help with that because over the visits across several months we rotated the vertebrae only by a few millimeters so that my spine was straightened out a lot more and my back pain faded a lot i think i still have the xrays of the before and after of my spine somewhere
People who say "Why don't you just adopt?" Don't adopt much on average. Most people who adopt are unable to have biological children for medical reasons. Chris' mindset ironically leads to fewer adoptions, not more

"Budgie smugglers" is an antipodean slang for "speedos" (or skimpy male swimwear) because the dude's package looks a bit like a budgie is being smuggled.
I love that at the beginning of the episode Colin says “we don’t have all the information we need so let’s not get carried away”. Just to later on in the show go on a self congratulatory “I was right” rant when Xbox has said NOTHING. Also, what was he right about? Gamepass being unsustainable? Colin doesn’t get to hold a parade for himself over a take that doesn’t even apply to past Xbox. Whatever changes they announce are coming in a Xbox AND ABK world. Not the former. He might be right about that for CURRENT Xbox with how big they’ve gotten. I wouldn’t disagree on that. However, unless Phil Spencer comes out and says, “Gamepass hasn’t been sustainable since it’s adoption”. I don’t see how Colin was right. It’s like these Bloodborne leakers who every year claim bloodborne might show up at a showcase. Then it finally happens and they say “I told you!”. Huh? If a business ingests a huge asset that their CURRENT cash flow prior to ingesting that asset can’t fully support. You have to find cashflow elsewhere for sustainability. Especially when your most public facing business model would disrupt the business model of that asset. This didn’t happen when they bought Bethesda nor did it change after putting their games in Gamepass day 1. It all changed with ABK, the biggest asset they’ve EVER ingested. Hence why none of THEIR games have hit gamepass yet. It’s an entirely different business proposition. It’s truly painful nobody who sits opposite of Colin on these shows has the business acumen to really pushback on many of these topics or at least pose the questions to him so he has to confront that aspect. The dude is so self aggrandizing at times and has been critical of people opposite of him who do the same thing lol
If the reports are true and they are putting games on ps5 then that means that it wasn’t profitable. You could keep ABK separate from gamepass or push another premium version if it was profitable. I just don’t see how he would be wrong if the reports are true.
@@Minednam if you’re trying to make an argument for lack of gamepass profitability. I guess you’ll use whatever can serve as evidence. The same line of thinking can lead to someone easily saying, well the PlayStation games division isn’t profitable since they started putting games on PC. Putting games on other platforms does not equal a games division or service being not profitable. It could just be a means of seeking additional revenue to grow the business. That’s the rationale whenever PlayStation does it but for some reason people need gamepass to not be profitable so that just can’t be it for Xbox. Despite them saying numerous times it’s profitable. Even when testifying.
Colin...the USPS thing is easy. You sent items during Christmas when everyone I'd ording and shipping things and the USPS awful. They even warn people that there will be delays during the holiday season.

On the children thing real quick. Just consider a few things: 1. Never think about children in terms of your life in the short term. Think about without your children who you’ll be your companion in life in your later years (spouse/partner may not be around as long as you are and vice versa) think about who will take care of you. 2. Totally agree on adoption and it is necessary however consider the implications if your adopted child grows up and doesn’t actually want to be a part of your life. Natural born children are way more likely to have endless unconditional love for you (not guaranteed of course but you get my point)
3:31:20 something that Chris misses here or is maybe just trying to point out in an obtuse way is that these business executives are not stupid. They also know that. It's just bad PR to say they're evil and that humans arejust resources to them, to be employed and discarded for the sake of better quarterly reports. Hiring people when it's profitable to do so and then discarding them when it's profitable to do so is standard business practice which is why it always happens and why it'll keep happening.
6:50 Chris is 100% incorrect here. Your eyesight deteriorates based on the amount of prolonged scrutiny it has to certain environments and habits, such as monitors or extended shortsighted use. If you radically overhaul your lifestyle to offset this scrutiny, (mostly it would require a new job) then your eyesight can correct. It's less likely to happen as you get older though. I know people who went from wearing corrective lenses in a contact centre, to no longer needing them after becoming a pilot for a while because your focal point radically changes for long periods of time (also, natural vs artificial lights help)
The UI in granblue is WAY worse than SSKTJL, I’m surprised Colin didn’t mention it. I don’t understand the hate towards the game but to each their own I guess. Hoping it gets at least a year of support…
3:23:47 I used to think like that until I realized the only reason those job opportunities exist, in 3rd world countries, is because american companies are willing to spend their dollars(world currency) in those countries. Otherwise, their only hope would be for people to create their own business, which govts make it impossible due to heavy taxation. It's a 2-way street
Chris comes off as such a liar sometimes I swear. “Yeah I have a cousin who did that” or “I remember I did that once a long time ago but I don’t remember” He always does this. Or just parrots what Dustin or Colin says 😂

A TLOU3 if it exists or will exist is a few years away at best. I think that quote is solely because there was some foresight that Factions 2 wasn’t going to happen or had issues, I think it was recorded almost a year ago so who really knows what a project like this is and if it has actually been thought up in a year. I couldn’t imagine ND was full speed on Factions2, a new IP which has to be the new game they mentioned in F2 cancel. It’s possible we are past a ‘outline’ for 3, and the evolved engine for F2 will be easily transformed into 3. We also could totally just be gaslit and 3 is in dev and they just don’t want to announce it until we are very close to release to avoid another 4 year gap pt2 faced, and to deter any leakers. That leak ruined pt2 and will forever taint ND along with every leak after. Keep it to the vest, announce it 6 months away. I’ll wait till 2026
Chiropractors are legit. I once severely messed up my upper back and neck to the point that l nearly could not move for 2-3 days. So I went to a chiropractor, he took an X-ray, said my neck was twisted like a pretzel, cracked my back and neck, and after the first visit I was instantly pain free and had complete range of motion back.
Sony drinks Xbox’s milkshake
I drink it alllll up
Wearing an Xbox Live shirt on Sacred Symbols is anathema
Regarding ff14 on xbox, xbox live rebranded to game pass core. That's why they say you need game pass to play it.
5:30 Colin, the Military at least in the places I have been still use that puff machine. I just had it down in 2022 when I got Lasik.
My thoughts exactly, he is just interpreting what he wants to hear to validate his OPINION. He should probably stick to being the PS expert.
Lol
Also, Xbox becoming less of a competitor or outright failing would be one of the worst things for gamers. Sony not trying is not a good thing.
@@Tatman2TheResQ It's not just this time. He acts VERY condescending towards Xbox all the time. And it's THE week now. Let's see what Xbox does next.
He let his fight with xbox fans taint his analysis. He loves "being right"
@@shankypanky8879yeah you can hear the excitement in his voice.
@@FreshWitcher Y'all some weird ass people. Lol

That thumbnail though
Hey Dustin, if you have to go to your chiropractor 1 to 3 times a year, for your hip, you're not fixing your hip. You're simply putting a Band-Aid on it. You need a proper physiotherapist with some conditioning and strength training to fix your hip. I've torn my Achilles, had sciatica in my back, and just had a myriad of injuries from wrestling and sports and let me tell you, the only person that fixed it, was an actual physiotherapist with proper strength and conditioning training.
Best thumbnail yet 🤣🤣 Dustin cooked
My wife still gives me a hard time that random shit still gets mailed to my parents. 😂
As an Australian, Uncharted 2 and 3 felt huge. 2 was so hyped that I skipped a school excursion to play it on launch.
3, I worked at GAME (while it was still around) and next to Skyrim was one of the biggest game releases that year.
This apartment I moved into I’m getting mail for like 7 different people who used to live here, shits insane 😭
Am I missing something why is this podcast out on Sunday
It gives us something to watch between Super Bowl commercials
Another great episode. Some happy to watch this show. All three of you crack me up, especially Dustin. Keep up the great work guys!
It all depend on what you want to focus on. I agree with Chris that it time consuming like anything else in life in general.
The SSKTJL write in was kinda cringe. Everyone who doesn’t like the game isn’t a “hater.” They just don’t like the game
And the game is flop, so no the sales won’t “silence the haters.” It’s doing terrible concurrent numbers
The last of us doc is fantastic. The motion capture footage of Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson is amazing especially during "that" scene. Recommend
LoL Dustin moves his mic with his face, not his hands hahaha.
He DOES have his audio set up legitimately, you don't hear any pops or anything at all (most mics make some kind of noise when a human head bashes into it)
Best sponsor for a gaming podcast ever😂
Chiropractor is quack science.
Johnathan Blow getting interviewed by Colin? Sign me up!
Sorry, but I’m NEVER giving up videogames for something unless I actually get tired of them
so the chiropractor thing, i was in a car accident at like 10 years old and we discovered years later that my spine may have grown out of allignment as a result. ie. in the top half if was twisting one way and the bottom half was twisting the other, and it was concidered to be the main source of my back pain
going to a chiropractor was the least invasive treatment to help with that because over the visits across several months we rotated the vertebrae only by a few millimeters so that my spine was straightened out a lot more and my back pain faded a lot
i think i still have the xrays of the before and after of my spine somewhere
2:55:45 …… is Fartgate upon us?
2:22:58 "maybe she'll play the golf club" i'm fuckin' deceased
People who say "Why don't you just adopt?" Don't adopt much on average. Most people who adopt are unable to have biological children for medical reasons. Chris' mindset ironically leads to fewer adoptions, not more
I’d say Across the Spider-Verse was more than just good. It was incredible even if the situation surrounding it wasn’t great.
Shout out to the Twin Peaks theme❤
I'd give up my kid for games
I’m not a live service, multiplayer gamer at all, but I cannot get enough of Helldivers 2. So far I only have 1 friend whom I am playing with, but the first night we ended up playing it for 5 hours. I’m actually excited to jump in every night, and thinking about it during the day. If you have a few friends to play with I don’t see how you could go wrong with Helldivers 2.
Chris coped so hard over Suicide Squad. Nice try, there’s nothing redeeming about it. Imagine liking the character writing LMAO
I’m shocked Colin hasn’t seen the documentary
Phenomenal thumbnail, a work of art 😂

Colin...the USPS thing is easy. You sent items during Christmas when everyone I'd ording and shipping things and the USPS awful. They even warn people that there will be delays during the holiday season.
Yo whats the deal with Collin being so hostile towards Dustin lol
Idk but I’ve notice le it too… and Dustin starting to not take any of his shit.

Just wanted to say as a Canadian the way colin pronounced touque gave me a good little chuckle. But also just wanted to say i live way closer to Toronto and personally think montreal is a better city to visit. Its not "too french" at all, you can get by completely fine in montreal only speaking english.
On the children thing real quick. Just consider a few things:
No pie, no sladgehammer team..
Lmfao at the title and thumbnails🤣
Turns out Sony going 3rd party day and date too lol. Should had held off on the predictions.
Totally with Chris on chiropractors.
Gears of War def gonna be my first Xbox/ps platinum 😆
No discussion of Rebirth???
I love the long content. i hate the 52 min podcasts they stop conversation to end it.
We need more lore on Dr Chicken and Dr John F. PlayStation.
I would pay for a sacred symbols + episode where Colin does his southern voice character for the entire show.
"here's the thing about abortion" - colin moriarty
Dustin giving a little shit to Chris is a nice change in the dynamic
It's Sony's console they can deny gamepass all they want...and the reason is, it benefits MS more than it benefits sony to allow gamepass on ps
The "problem" with the state of play is that it was nothing new.
But i'm not sure that you should expect anything new there.
Early Episode?
Going public a day early?
3:23:47 I used to think like that until I realized the only reason those job opportunities exist, in 3rd world countries, is because american companies are willing to spend their dollars(world currency) in those countries. Otherwise, their only hope would be for people to create their own business, which govts make it impossible due to heavy taxation. It's a 2-way street
Good to see Colin is just as prickly on his own show as he was on the dukes lol
Chris, get some guitar stands. That thing is gonna fall over.
Chris comes off as such a liar sometimes I swear.
“Yeah I have a cousin who did that” or “I remember I did that once a long time ago but I don’t remember”
He always does this. Or just parrots what Dustin or Colin says 😂
Just curious if anyone on the LSM crew have played Jusant? It's a brilliant game by Don't Nod. It has brilliant climbing and rappelling mechanics, and this really interesting and vibrant world that's a joy to explore. I can't recommend the game enough to you guys, it's my one of my favorite games I've played this year.

Obviously only go though if you're actually in pain or discomfort.
