I've never seen a fire extinguisher with that large of an opening. Replace that silly little valve with a two inch ball valve and use a pneumatic actuator to open it and you will be blowing holes through car doors.
@@codyabbott1219 do you know what a linear actuator is? They are like hydraulic rams except they use air. It will open a ball valve about 5 times as fast as your hand can.
@@Mika_357 The Weaponeer is a more useful book, by the same guy, Kurt Saxon. Now days, having it will probably get you put on a list. 40yrs ago, it was a cool book of improvised devices. Anyway, stay safe!
Wife: honey when are you going to come in for dinner? Dude: soon as I’ve finished building and testing my fire extinguisher cannon I’m making for UA-cam….. wife: I think we need to have a talk
I usually pump it up with my shop compressor which goes to about 9 bars. I only use the bicycle pump for pressurizing it to 13 bars afterwards, but even that sure is a good workout ;D. Whether a golfball will fit depends on the barrel you're using. But with the pipe I used it actually fits!
@@Mika_357 Thanks for the quick reply. I'm building one of these out of a small oxygen tank from a cutting torch. It should handle 200psi with no problem, if yours held 190. Thanks again!

What on earth is a pneumatic actuator and what does it have to do with a ball valve?

You've built the speargun from the Poor Man's James Bond. It was a large book from the 80's, showing lots of DIY "devices."
Sounds cool, definetly gonna try to get my hands on that book!

Hi ! Be very careful using compressed air doing anything ! The Schrader valve can actually be your death sentence ! 😢
High pressure injuries?!
@@johnshipley1389 Hi ! Yes, It is just a piece of brass with a rubber o- ring that can shoot out like a bullet !

very wise to not weld the tank. Simple but effective.
imagine what could you do with a compessor instead of a bike pump
seen one in the workshop doh
Nice job! Love that you through in some math to analyze the performance. 🤙
Brother home many psi a fire extinguser can handle
Un gusto Amigo... Me gusta tu creatividad, sigue asi!!! Un abrazo desde URUGUAY
Pumping it up with a bicycle pump was hilarious. At Harbor Freight you can get an electric tire pump for 10 dollars. will a golf ball fit in it?

I like that idea for a portable tire inflater.
Fill it up . Throw it in the trunk.
I thought the compressor was going to explode with so many pumps hahaha nice toy
Doing a few changes you can power up upgrading the airflow
Nice build
Thank you! It was very fun!
impressive, well done
It sure sent that pipe a long way ! Did you get it back?
After a bit of searching in the long grass I eventually found it, yess!
Arc welding galvanized steel, like this pipe, damages your lungs with zinc oxide. This has to be done carefully.
What about using a co2 extinguisher that's full.
How many psi did you pump it up to?
I did 13 Bars wich is around 190psi, this was the maximum I was comfortable with

My pleasure! In my case I was concerned about the car tire valve, it was only Rates for 10 bar max.(145psi)
You'd be able to shoot the rod extremely far is the barrel of the air cannon was only a little bigger then it
Get it to fire 10 mm Steel Bearings rather than Potato Wedges then you will be talking 👍
imagine getting shot by a 1kg metal rod going 70 mph
valve is Tir valve??
Yup it‘s a Tire valve!
good job bro🎉
يمكن استهداف مجال اكبر اذا كانت مملوءة بالابر ضربة تغطي مساحة كبيرة
Ótimo invenção
Yeah good
You should use a fan when welding bro. That is some toxic smoke you're inhaling
Hi ,are you german, women or men
jetzt mit 150 bar und gezogenem lauf
Valve is too small.. not dumping your tank fast enuff😢
Pero si eres un niño, apenas un muchacho
👍🏽
Are you german?
Yes, I am!🇩🇪
