This SCP is always interesting due to the strange details that are easy to miss.
This time what struck me was the odd story of Agent Collins, D-774 and Doctor Lafayette.
In the main article Agent Collins goes into the other dimension and is then given a leave of absence (with their name having gone crooked in the document)
They are back however for the first exploration log (seems odd as its unlikely they would have delayed long enough for a leave of absence to take place), and then placed in charge of the second.
When viewed as a whole her behaviour after returning from the other dimension is very suspicious:
First she escorts director Kim to their quarters after Kim gets a migrane. Not immediately suspicous, but later Kim is the person left "tending" to the remains of the dead D-774 (The last time D-774 is mentioned before they somehow enter the control room). Did Collins do something to Kim?
Next Collins carries researcher bond to the medical bay for "corrective treatment(???)" after they start vomiting.
It's then Collins who convinces Doctor Peterson that a harness should be left for D-2172, which almost leaves to them escaping from the pit after being heavily affected by the anomaly.
This is where D-774 and Doctor Lafayette come in, as they were two of the four people who try to help D-2172 out of the pit at the end of the first log.
The next mention of them is that D-774 has helped Lafayette escape from their quarters (why were they confined? Did they notice something while helping D-2174?)
They go to the police but are caught with D-774 killed.
Despite being in charge of the exploration at this point, Collins leaves the control room to "aid Doctor Lafayette and ensure he receives proper medical care"
Collins then returns to the control room WITH Lafayette as if nothing had happened! Why did Lafayette just calmly come back to the control room at this point? I can only assume he's been affected now too.
As I mentioned earlier, D-774's remains were left with doctor Kim "tending" to them (with Kim possibly affected by Collins earlier) and then D-774 is later described to simply "enter the control room" with their name crooked.
    All very weird.

I’ve never read the article myself but I noticed those oddities too and kinda just assumed it was either sloppy writing or I missed something somehow! Like why did Lafayette just walk back in with Collins? Did I fall asleep? Or am I just an idiot and I missed something? Or misunderstood that part of the story? Lol looking forward to checking out the inevitable updates & addendums to this one!

SCP-783, if my information is correct, originally was a small Keter Class cottage in Russia that caused violent mutations to ANY lifeform entering it. Most victims became stronger, lacked pain receptors, and can graft scavenged body parts onto themselves. Some became smarter with enhanced visual capabilities.
The addendums feature three short logs where the head researcher discovered the lab techs were making the mutated specimens fight each other for entertainment, and he plans to get new lab techs and expose the old ones to the anomaly in order to replenish the supply of specimens.
The entire scip would very early on get a much needed rewrite, where now these mutations were not always beneficial, and single celled organisms were unaffected.
The addendums would be replaced with a body horror-ridden experiment log evolving different animals and an interview concerning a containment breach where a mutated tick hijacks the body of a D-Class and runs away while the person is still conscious.

This SCP is a reminder that the actual monster isn't needed to invoke fear or terror, but the impact and capabilities of it can give you a very direct idea as to what it can do.
Considering that Freddy Krueger was dealt with through vigilante justice rather than judicial affairs (even though in Fred's case it was release on technicality via faulty arrest warrant), the parallels of their origins end right there. Well, aside from the detestable things done to kids. However, unlike the dream logic that Freddy Krueger uses in combination with instilling fear, the crooked man leaves far more physical, yet "fractured" remnants of it's legacy behind.

If youre attacking that SCP in a volent way, you need an anomaly that eats calcium at the very least the same pace as the bone regenerations.
Best bet is to figure out what caused the crooked anomaly, hopefully its from a ritual and not spontaneous.

I would have tested what happens if you build a house in baseline reality, does it manifest in the crooked reality? What if you do the reverse ? Maybe if it doesn't manifest, it could allow them to create safe spaces the anomaly can't "see". I would also equip any recon team with inflammatory weaponry, since pure physical trauma does not deter the crooked zombies.

The idea of something that doesn't actually move but rather extends indefinitely, and by breaking and growing sections of itself no less, is super bizarre. Feel like this might've been something the author had a dream/nightmare about once, it's got that surreal, arbitrary quality to it.
As for the thing itself... vengeful spirit of someone broken on the wheel in times past I'd guess. Why it indulges in grievous bodily elongation, ass-up portal-pits and glitchy hamlet repetitions is beyond me though. Intriguing!
Taphos will be back, and he'll get to gnaw on all those stupidly long bones as a reward.
