I’m the author of this SCP-001 proposal. This is something I wrote to be my cap stone project and took me around 4 months to get it to a place I was happy with. Thank you for covering it! It’s probably the most personal thing I’ve written.
Fun fact: all the SCPs that experienced containment failures were things I posted to the site and eventually deleted. This proposal served as my in universe explanation for what’s going on with them. I won’t say outright of the anomaly actually exists, but I personally think it does.

Haven't finished listening but I wanted to say I love the concept and tone of this already, especially since a few 001 proposals/other articles are concerned with the origins of the anomalies/foundation and are really rather serious. I'm always a big fan of the sillier self aware side of SCP!

On the note about going from a containment failure rate of 5.2% to a containment rate for 001 of 95%: This doesn't mean there's been no change in containment failure rate. In fact quite the opposite. Paraphrasing, earlier the the director stated that of that 5.2%, roughly 1.4% was explained via means outside the foundation's control, with the remaining 3.8% being attributed to 001. If this is true, a 95% containment rate of 001 would mean reducing that 3.8% down to 0.19%. (I assume my numbers are off slightly, because the 5.2 & 1.4 figures are entirely from memory, but the math otherwise is correct)
In other words, containment failure has gone from 5.2% down to 1.59%. A significant reduction!

The start of this gave me a great idea for an SCP as told via the experiences of a researcher. An anomalous sense, given to a researcher who is deaf, blind and missing a limb. Sensing the things around them via symbols and vibrations detected through the sense. Walking up to a door with a walking cane they sense prison bars, a vibration is felt and they can tell it's an audio cue from a foundation security door, they sense a monolith and realize theres a biometric scanner, the issue being that they're missing the hand for the scan. they have to call security and navigate the issue thru sense alone. Have the SCP be a great boon but show the flaws of the average day inate in something like the foundation. Have it end with a containment breach of some sort where the facility is locked down, the researcher even further frustrated and yet they end up being completely safe, as the anomaly that broke containment can only harm you if you can see or hear it. Leaving the researcher to single handedly through blind luck (aha) contain the anomaly.

I love the implications behind the first example. In the 80s, the Foundation had even better access to SRAs than today due to the Ichabod campaign (as "canonized" in the Montauk House). This means that chances are SRAs didn't work, and they failed to work so magnificently that doccumenting the agent getting launched into the stratosphere was *less* embarassing.

So I found this channel by coming across a short on reels yesterday that blew my mind apart. I'm about 3 videos in and I still have no idea what the fuck I'm listening to. And the more videos I put on the crazier it got. Just watched the introduction to the SCP foundation and I think... I think I just hit a motherlode gold mine of awesomeness 🤔

I do kind of love that when he wants to discuss the inner workings of the Foundation as an organization, he always defaults to using images from Control's FBC organization. I mean, they are basically the same thing...which is to say I really do think Sam Lake crib some notes at some point, same way he did with Stephen King for Alan Wake.

I like when we get ones that are a bit less serious. It's really fun. I also like when the author makes the article fit out of and in-universe for why things are the way they are, sometimes. It's an interesting take. In this case, drafts of the article being created and deleted. This was good.
Also, I'm glad that your new Warhammer 40k videos are doing just as well as the SCP videos now. It's great to hear!

This awesome young man removes the arduous footwork of discovering cool, new SCP entries for people like me who simply don't have time to stay in the loop and respects my time for example right out of the gate he lets me know there's an element of humor involved here which doesn't pique my interest. Don't be fooled by his droll delivery he's excellent at storytelling and could very easily be an orator. I can't support creatives monetarily through Patreon so I let his old videos play on loop in the background when I get time to finally play CDDA.

Based on the beginning of this, I thought this was going to turn out to be something para-physical. It seems like a narrative convention that some anomalies remain at least partly uncontained in order to make them feel scary or exciting, even though logically the Foundation's power should have done something about it.
