I couldnt agree with you more. Its one of the great films from the the 1970s and the song track is such a dynamic track to listen to. Its etched in my head. I practically listen to it every day. Dave Grusin is a legend.
This was "New Hollywood"... I miss the quality of movies produced during the 70's. What a neat and terrific soundtrack, great acting, great actors, good story!
Dave Grusin, a great great composer of soundtracks, jazz music, and many others. Beautiful atmosphere he creates for a fantastic film, cult movie of the 70's. Robert Redford and Sidney Pollack, worked together in many great films. This is a history of great Cinema!
Fantastic movie and soundtrack. This movie is like a fine wine, aged so perfectly. Redford is superb in it of course, but let's not forget the stunning Dave Grusin soundtrack, absolutely wonderful. Faye Dunaway was truly beautiful in this too, really stunning woman.
I am with you there. I put on this movie every now and then and the score floors me. This is such a blast from the past. Whenever I yearn for old New York and a great spy caper I put on this flick.
Just ordered soundtrack...I am 50 now ...think the music takes me back to my childhood....happy carefree days. Damn Good Funky Soundtracks to Damn Good Movies .
1975 I was 20, then this happened, Condor Grusin was my favorite 8 track in my Deuce and a quarter, and now 50 yrs later, I keep it on speed dial, It still swirls a fine bouquet that gets better every time
Its 2024 and I feel like I am living on a different planet and look forward to return to earth that have not changed since I left in the 1984. Miss home so much
I saw the film at the former Playboy theater in Chicago. The audience applauded at the end of the Condor/mailman fight scene. A few days later, I got the Dave Grusin vinyl soundtrack. It was great when the full original score was released on cd a few yrs ago. Fantastic post Mind!
Era cine de verdad...ojos gestos y amenizada por una estupenda bso de dave crusin...y con excelente actores...una delicia que he repetido al cabo de los años una buena cantidad de veces...y siempre me gusta...
Agree with all of the other posters. Great soundtrack and great movie I go back to repeatedly. And Dunaway has one of the great movie lines of all times: "You can always depend on the old spy fucker!"
@Paul McIlroy political & social bite, grittiness & stylishness, relevance to human beings, artistic yet approachable and commercial - New Hollywood: the best period for cinema because Hollywood had both more money and more craftsmen technicians who could successfully construct action, contemporary and historic drama set piece scenes and films. In Europe director rarely had the inclination, skill or money to do action scenes, not necessarily genre action film but a plausible violent event in his life simulating drama. In Hollywood when young 1960's 1970's artists came they had a crew of experienced guys who could objectify their visions, i.e. make them visible, physical, tangible. Craftsmen had the unique opportunity to shine and show that they are artists too. Off course they already were but in 1970's they had the unique chance to show it to everyone. Hence magnificent soundtracks, exciting hair raising montage sequences, seductive laden with emotions and meaning photography, perfect manipulation with sound to build an atmosphere (1974 "The Conversation"), the best acting performances that acting old-timers and newbies gave in their lives, aforementioned set design (George Roy Hill's 1973 "The Sting" and 1969 "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" among many) intriguingly provocative and subversive scripts, crazy genius directors (like Peckinpah) etc.
Von sydow...fierce..menacing...calculating..Great movie, especially the end when Redford asks Robertson if the CIA were really going to take over the oil fields in the mideast....the agents reply is chilling..."Americans, freezing in their homes...do you think they care how the oil is taken? They just want it..."
I always wanted to make a deep house track based on some nice jazzy samples of this soundtrack and Faye Dunaway saying "The evening's young". But I still lack the skills to pull it of properly. LOL
One of THE best movies from the 1970's! Top notch actors, and a dynamite soundtrack! God i miss the 70's!
And so terrific how currently still applicable to our reality it is!!!
Me too!!!!!!!
I couldnt agree with you more. Its one of the great films from the the 1970s and the song track is such a dynamic track to listen to. Its etched in my head. I practically listen to it every day. Dave Grusin is a legend.
It has one of the best soundtracks too!

Dave Grusin & The Rythm Heritage !!!😅😢❤
This soundtrack never gets old
I find it so good that i use it as background music when i'm viewing 70s photos. It fits like a glove 😅

Sadly, I was assigned to review one of Faye Dunaway's lesser efforts, a 2005 drama called GHOSTS NEVER SLEEP for VIDEOSCOPE.
Agreed! Excellent film. Also, my first exposure of Max von Sydow.
I watched this movie 4️⃣0️⃣ years ago and bought it on BluRay to watch on Canada 🇨🇦 Day...still a damn good film‼️
Totally agree
Couldn't agree more!!!!!!!
As far as I'm concerned Grusin should have won the Oscar for this MASTERPIECE!!!
Oh Boy Yeah!!!
I am with you there. I put on this movie every now and then and the score floors me. This is such a blast from the past. Whenever I yearn for old New York and a great spy caper I put on this flick.
One of my favorite movies; The Soundtrack is still BUMPING in 2024🎉
Just ordered soundtrack...I am 50 now ...think the music takes me back to my childhood....happy carefree days. Damn Good Funky Soundtracks to Damn Good Movies .
Perfect cinematic funk/jazz with beautiful production and great arrangements. A brilliant soundtrack.
Great soundtrack, pure 70s, perfect for this movie, really one of the best of this genre.
Wonderful movie soundtrack.
Soundtrack is off the hook. Superfly. Masterpiece. And so well recorded and engineered.
Back when good movies were made on a more frequent basis. This soundtrack is superb.
1975 I was 20, then this happened, Condor Grusin was my favorite 8 track in my Deuce and a quarter, and now 50 yrs later, I keep it on speed dial, It still swirls a fine bouquet that gets better every time
Boy this takes me back in time, miss those days more than I can say.
Said it well.
Its 2024 and I feel like I am living on a different planet and look forward to return to earth that have not changed since I left in the 1984. Miss home so much
Great movie and soundtrack.
After seeing this in the Theater back in '75.... I went right to the Record Store and bought the Album....GOOD Memories!!!....GREAT SOUNDTRACK!!!
Good movie and I love this soundtrack.
What’s SO amazing is that this Score was not even nominated for Best Score 1975! Okay, maybe it wouldn’t have won, but Wow!!
Really it was not nominated?😮 I find that shocking because this is such a beautiful track to listen to.

Terrific soundtrack to a fab 70s conspiracy spy thriller. This classic Redford/Pollack film rocks!
Love the score and the movie.
Many years ago, one of my buddies at work started calling me Condor Man as a nickname because I liked the movie so much.

Gorgeous soundtrack and cool movie but terribly violent.
