When i was young my father use to play this on cassette player. All the memories come in front of my eyes whenever i play this.That small room with 60W blub, b&w tv , hero cycle etc Life was very easy at that time.Those days are gone but Bhai Harbans Singh voice is still with me.

Balwinder Singh prayer can be singed, or it could simply be read. So there is nothing wrong in using "sang" because paji shabad gaye hi jande ne. Te kai war path da hi kirtan kitta janda.

It depends on choices.
So there is nothing wrong in writing SANG.
You should listen and sang along too for internal peace and harmony
