Ms Starla, your videos are excellent. Videos about the differences between hue and tone are always important to gemologists and people in general. I think that is important to make everybody keen to realize the quality of the stones. Thanks.
Hue is the colour or colours of the gem. The tone is how light or dark it is. If you go into the google search and put describing color in gemstones gia It will pull up a pdf of the course that tells you how to do it.
Starla Turner Thanks a lot. You are a real lady. That is very good. I am a student of gemology, but, even my country is a source of gemstones (Brazil), we are not still very acquainted to the gemology fields enough.
Starla Turner Excuse me. May you also tell me if I could download more GIA's books online, such as this? I guess that would be very nice for my studies. Thanks.
Do you have any plans to continue your series here? They are fabulous! I'm a Graduate Gemologist (GIA) and these are amazing refreshers, and I look forward to my co workers learning from them. Great videos!
Hi.I want to become a gemologist but i did not know what is the fee structure or GIA have any online plateform so that i can continue my study in gemology ?
Hello, good morning Miss. my question is. what book can I buy. to fully identify the gems from the natural ones from the synthetic ones. and with inclusions but of a quality of photos why I acquired one and its images. pixels are more visible than gems so I can't distinguish inclusions. synthetic or natural
It is the internal characteristics that can determine synthetic vs natural. If you google flame fusion, or flux grown, or hydrothermal you should get some really good photos of the inclusions. You can check out lotusgemology.com, or the GEMA on you tube or the GIA on you tube they all have series and it often has powerpoint of the inclusions. So a good mictoscopeor a powerful loupe can be key, and also fluorescence-
Hi Farook, The book is called Gem Dialogue www.gemdialogue.com, now you can go online and try Gemewizard, or there is the World of Color systems that I use www.gemguide.com/shop/world-color-communication-system/ I hope that helps. Cheers
