-cont basically, I love Gate because he is a very genuine villain, with very genuine motivations. Sigma is very much a cliche villain who is simply evil. The virus made Sigma evil and destroyed his conscience, that simple. Gate however, is just another victim. He was a guy VERY down on his luck, a guy we can all relate to in some way, who through insanity, got his chance at revenge against those who did him wrong. He's just so incredibly fleshed out for a one shot villain. Thats why I love X6.
so... Gate was "beyond irrepairable" but he was complete !!! AND YOU TELL THAT ZERO, WHO WAS JUST A TORSO WITH HEAD AND HIS Z BUSTER COULD REPAIR HIMSELF ???!!! SERIOUSLY ??!!!!!!😧
-cont- And he held them as his goal. his ideal goal was to create highly advanced reploids that could not be analyzed. And he succeeded. But a few of his robots were cocky and arrogant, and caused accidents or problems- while others were simply victims of circumstance. Scaravitch was a ruin robber, Metal Shark was involved in DNA revival of reploids, which is illegal, Mijinion caused accidents due to his not following safety protocols, and yammark accidentally burned a forest. -cont
It sounds like Sigma was playing this game while waiting for X/Zero to come and fight him. Don't feel bad, Sigma. I'd be just as gibber-mouthed insane as you if I was in this game.
Megaman X6 is a great game but you are entitled to your own oppinion. I completely agree with everything you hated about this game but i actually enjoyed the challenge of oh holy shit i actually dont know whats gonna happen next.... til i played each part like seven times each.
And Gate was shunned from the scientific community, becoming a recluse, and swearing revenge. Naturally, he never did anything. And the little we see of him in the intro shows that he wasnt a bad guy, a bit bitter, but then again, he deserved to be bitter after the shit that happened. He was genuinely concerned for the earth after the Eurasia incident, and when he found a chunk of Zero, naturally he got exited, since X and Zero were his idols in reploid researching. -cont
Dear Clement, thanks for doing a Let's Play of this awful game for us. Not only did you save me the time of trying to play it myself, but you made it a heck of a lot more fun to watch.
The first thing I thought when Sigma was all FULL CAPPS BAD GRAMER was "he is so obsessed with revenge he can't form a sentence". I actually think that's great writing and it makes sense with how pathetic his first form is, both appearance-wise and difficulty-wise.
I understand it's poorly made, but I'd rather cut down middle fingers than force me to a bad route no matter what I do that X5 has. And well, this game kept X from going evil, so I have a soft spot for it on that alone.
Anyway, about the fact that you said that some may like X6...I have a bit of a connection to that. I was in school in this technology class, and we were supposed to make a photo slideshow (NOT POWERPOINT) using photos of our favorite things. One guy actually came across a picture of Sonic 2006, and said it was FUN! Now that's screwed up. How could you get past the long load times, the fact Sonic is dating a HUMAN, and glitchy and slow gameplay!?
It's unfortunate because with all the characters, concepts, and everything else in X6, it had the potential to be a really great game. Somehow it just ended up executed very poorly. High Max, Isoc, and Gate could have been really great antagonists to carry the series forward (or at least end it properly). Isoc coming out and saying definitively he was Dr. Wily and responsible for Sigma's final form in X5 and whatnot, would have brought the series full circle. X holding Zero's saber on the cover was a powerful image that indicated a change in direction for the series...so the way they brought him back was incredibly cheap. At the very least they should've done something more interesting like have him be a mid-boss controlled by Isoc/Wily, and then make Isoc, High Max & Sigma fight you in one giant epic final battle. Imagine if Sigma's giant body detached from all those wires and the fight became a moving level (think of the train stage from X4) of death, with High Max occasionally dropping in to blast you and Isoc/Wily supporting them with shields or whatever. Then, depending how you finish the fight, Zero/X must finish off Wily once and for all. It looks like they were planning to somehow redeem Gate but didn't follow through. What a tragedy to video game design this entry turned out to be.
Does anybody else feel like this game was supost to be like a filler movie to the actual franchise? Main side character has a secret connection to the main bad guy, who is obsessed with one of the main characters for some overly complicated reason only to end up biting off more than he can chew and screwing himself over in the end. Mean while the main franchise bad guy is secretly lurking around and makes a short appearance. And all of the Main characters at the end act like nothing they went through even matter and give a cheesy speach about the power of teamwork looking ahead to a better tomorrow.... Really Capcom,..... i''m not even mad.
Sigma: DIE! XXX! JUSDIE X! X: What's he talking about? Sigma: DIE! ZERO! JUSTDIE! ZELLLLLLO! Zero: His mind is gone. Even X and Zero aren't convinced that Sigma is threatening in this game. lol.
It was rushed. It came out nine months after X5. Though to be honest, the flaws weren't really noticeable to me until I saw Clement's play-through. Even still, I love this game and look at it as a fond memory of my childhood, even to this day.
How the Elf Wars fits with this end cutscene: Cyber Elves were discovered, Zero got a new body, and Dr. Vile awoke Zero's body from its sleep to create Omega.
Your presentation of this game is five stars, it sounds like you went through complete hell going this and i don't wanna play this shit anymore, awesome job!
I really love Megaman X6. I do agree there is a lot wrong with it, and I certainly wouldn't put it above X1-X5, but I think there are many things to like about it.
@KeeperoftheDarkHeart If you enter in a code at the Main Menu, you can unlock a black armor for Zero. It does, however, nothing other than change his appearance.
At least when u sleep u will either be in a long dream or in a long nightmare or if there are no dreams it will be an instant so i wonder what was in zero's mind
Sigma (the second part) from megaman x6 is my favorite battle!!! in megaman x series :D I like to fight against him with x without armor it's an epic fight and the music is so fucking sick!! I really love this battle!
If I recall correctly, Sigma's final form can be made even easier with X's Shadow Armor, with the Giga Attack taking about 70% or so of his health bar and charged shots doing maybe 20%. Don't quote me on that though, I've only done it twice, if even, and I haven't touched the game in years.
i like this lp actualli it was fun to watch and hear your comentari was really fun. and i really like this game its hard but i liket and thank you great clement
@nophysicsman I feel similarly. Really tough, in part because there are some things with no excuse, but also in part because it's legitimately tough. Thanks for posting that! ^_^
I remember when I beat this game, I was proud of myself for beating this game since it was insanely difficult and in all honesty, X6 was the last game I needed to beat in order to complete the entire Mega Man X series.
At that point I just considered Capcom was milking the X series for money a little more and it was just considered a separate storyline from the Zero series.
X6 has better armors as well. The Shadow Armor is a massive improvement over the broken Gaea Armor. The Blade Armor was quite an upgrade over the Falcon Armor, with plenty of interesting features (I once nearly killed Sigma with the Blade Armor's powerful Giga Attack; All it took was good timing). Rescuing reploids provides a sense of accomplishment, and I like being able to build up life-ups this way, instead of that broken time system. Most X6 bosses are easier as well.
Honestly I loved X6 for the fact that it's about replay value. Capcom I'm assuming wasn't satisfied with X5 being the last in the series especially on the PS1 so they tried to stuff as much shit and challenge into one game as possible to make it a fitting close. I think the worst decision Capcom made was to make X7 and 8 since it trashed the Zero ending and screwed up the MMZ connection -,- For being the last 2D MMX game and direct series after MM it definitely ends the tradition with a bang.
clement. why i like x6 or why i dont hate it, is because i like megaman, i like the zx series, the zero series, the X series, heck, i played megaman zx because you inspired me, you encouraged me to make a playthrough of megaman zx, thats one of the reasons WHY i like megaman, its fun to play.
since you asked, I like X6, because I just love the story. Sounds silly, but the translation errors are not the story. I think that Gate is a great villain. The backstory around him, if you read the little alia maverick mentions after the stages, is that he was a bit of a rebel in the scientific field, as Alia mentions- he didnt do as he was told.So he was shunned. but he WAS a genius. And he was most fascinated by X and Zero and how they were so advanced that they were analyzable. -cont.
So wait a minute, basically every time these bosses (the 8 main ones) appear, the Earth is completely ravaged (Except for X7 and X8) and they have to rebuild it every time?!
Well, the primary reason I have no problem with MMX6 is that I'm not overly picky when it comes to Megaman Games. I mean hell, I like Megaman Command Mission as well, and I know lots of people who utterly loathe it. The nightmare system I did find irritating, but I liked the randomness. Sometimes I'd put it in and play just because of that since I wasn't in the mood to do the same stage over again. I also liked the whole thing with Gate, even if it was silly.
So, does that mean the end credit scene takes place at the end of the X series? It was never really expanded on during X7 or X8. Or X7 and X8 feature a Zero clone? Or "THE" Zero clone for those that know what I'm talking about?
X6 was my intro to megaman and I thought iy was really good as a stand alone game. i was 6 i think so story did not bug me and having the random stuff made the game new and exciting every time I played through it. and the ultimate armor cheat made the game super fun aswell .
Level Design-wise THE GAME IS FRICKIN' BALLS. For the Characters they were good. The game felt decent
It took me a long time, but now I remember why I like Megaman X6... It's the only X game in which I don't feel bad abusing the Ultimate Armor like crazy. That and for some damn reason they changed the sprite of that particular armor for some insane reason, and it looks more badass because of it in my opinion. Weird, I know.
+Snake Man DWN-022 Oh yeah it's not anywhere near as bad as Clement freaks out about it, but it's not like it's any masterpiece, heh. There are a lot of really good things X6 tries to do, but they weren't really done the way they should have been. Can ya blame them? This game, much like Sonic 06 (now that's a polarizing subject), had very little time to be made. The music's definitely great. Hands down. Anyone who says it isn't is a liar. I'm not completely biased to the X series in terms of music, as there's a few tracks I can't stand (Hi Duff McWhalen you ruined an awesome theme), so take that to the bank! (Whatever that means) Definitely was a weaker link of the X series. Mainly a lot of the bullshit it pulled in an attempt to be "challenging." Most notably Gate's Lab! Had this game given more time, I'm sure a lot of the problems we see here could have been taken care of. I won't bash the nightmare system or anything because it can be manipulated to an extent, but I would say this is probably the lowest of the PS1 era X titles. X5 is a pretty polarizing one as well, heh.
NightKawata It is far and I mean, FAR from perfect, but it's about ok/meh overall, although the worst of the 2D titles. I just believe the X6 "hatebase" can be much more annoying than the issues they complain about.
Gotta love how there are no spaces in "I'LLSHOWYOUWHATATERRORISALLABOUT!"
CaptFalcon21 well, really, that's just crazy speech.
CaptFalcon21 seriously.does he ever go to Elementary school?
No. Robots don't go to school.
DIE! ZERO! JUSTDIE! ZELLLLLLOO!!!
"I'LLSHOWYOUWHATATERRORISALLABOUT

Best thing ever XD

Dear Clement, thanks for doing a Let's Play of this awful game for us. Not only did you save me the time of trying to play it myself, but you made it a heck of a lot more fun to watch.
This is one of my favorite lps i always rewatched when im bored. I love your suffering.
@123bobolink repairing himself was a mistranslation. in the original he compares his miraculous recovery to X's similarly miraculous survival.
The callout of appreciation at the end was nice 😊
At 5:44 one of the background designer's is Ryutaro's Mama LOL
Gotta admit the ending has a kick ass theme.
The first thing I thought when Sigma was all FULL CAPPS BAD GRAMER was "he is so obsessed with revenge he can't form a sentence". I actually think that's great writing and it makes sense with how pathetic his first form is, both appearance-wise and difficulty-wise.
I have mixed feelings on this game, but I loved this LP.
He doesn’t. But on the bright side, in a few years, he’ll be re-doing it...
Homura Akemi really?
I understand it's poorly made, but I'd rather cut down middle fingers than force me to a bad route no matter what I do that X5 has.
And well, this game kept X from going evil, so I have a soft spot for it on that alone.
6:15 Norio Wakamoto? Now this game is "Perfect".
I love X6 music
"It is the world where humans race and Reploids coexist." That is the best translation error in the X series
Sigma turned into that giant robot because he hid himself while he tried to repair himself.

Whoo! You're done! Now you have...MORE TORTURE IN X7!!!
At least the ending rewards you by rocking out to I.D.E.A.. The soundtrack is truly the only redeemable part of X6.
*I'LLSHOWYOUWHATATERRORISALLABOUT!*
I think his rage broke him coming from X5. Also, he seriously predicted my experience with Magiswords Season 1 XD
Zello: Its like jello, but with a z-saber sticking out of your eye.

They worked for less than a year but they did great for the soundtrack.
third best lines in anime history.
1st is 'Wha-WHAT AM I FIGHTING FORRRRRRRRRRR?!!!!'
The best of megaman x6 is the songs,Zero and Shadow armour(realy kick ass)
Dude that theme is awsome
Megaman x6 got a lot of secret gifts i love it
Sigma: DIE! XXX! JUSDIE X!
X: What's he talking about?
Sigma: DIE! ZERO! JUSTDIE! ZELLLLLLO!
Zero: His mind is gone.
Even X and Zero aren't convinced that Sigma is threatening in this game. lol.
X5 was just lazily-made all the way around, but X6 achieved becoming the only truly broken game in the Mega Man X series.
It was rushed. It came out nine months after X5. Though to be honest, the flaws weren't really noticeable to me until I saw Clement's play-through. Even still, I love this game and look at it as a fond memory of my childhood, even to this day.
Something must've been so satisfying about beating Sigma in this game.
It is the world where the humans race and FUCKING GRAMMAR!!! XD
I like it a lot but every point you made was correct, I just love the style and feel of it.
he loves it for the music
Megaman X6: Piece of cake, even being a lackluster game due to not having Inafune's hand
Megaman X7: THAT! SHIT! IS! UNBEARABLE!!!
How the Elf Wars fits with this end cutscene: Cyber Elves were discovered, Zero got a new body, and Dr. Vile awoke Zero's body from its sleep to create Omega.
Gotta admit, this theme ROCKS!!!!
I liked X6 for the Saber design and attacks. The ninja armor was pretty cool. But I felt like FML the whole time I was playin'.
7:37 Infune has confirmed this scene is the ending to the x series
Awesome and rockn theme stage music
Your presentation of this game is five stars, it sounds like you went through complete hell going this and i don't wanna play this shit anymore, awesome job!

This is my favorite Clement LP. He perfectly captures all my feelings toward this game. And it's fun to hear someone else suffer through it.

I think that X5 had the best soundtrack. X6 just had Infinity Mijinion and Sigma's second form.
i like mega man x6 because is one of my fist games i ever played and that is why is so big to me
Lmfaoo "well fucking clearly" had me rolling on the floor
That music kinda reminds me of Symphony X.
I found out Sigma Phase 2's weakness! It's Ground Scaravich's weapon. For Zero, at least, I haven't fought him as X.
yes thank u for thanking our endurance
X6 has better armors as well. The Shadow Armor is a massive improvement over the broken Gaea Armor. The Blade Armor was quite an upgrade over the Falcon Armor, with plenty of interesting features (I once nearly killed Sigma with the Blade Armor's powerful Giga Attack; All it took was good timing).

clement. why i like x6 or why i dont hate it, is because i like megaman, i like the zx series, the zero series, the X series, heck, i played megaman zx because you inspired me, you encouraged me to make a playthrough of megaman zx, thats one of the reasons WHY i like megaman, its fun to play.
I don't like X6, but I DO like how Zero feels so damn powerful in this game.
I like the game for the randomization, cause I like a game that challenges me and I never know whats gonna happen and what i'll run into.
No Clement. I didn't watch this X6 playthrough several times because I like the game, but because I love how YOU play this game. And your rant.
Hold on, on the very first Credit screen is says the Planner was Akiteru? Were they just guessing who planned the game or something?...
since you asked, I like X6, because I just love the story. The nightmare system I did find irritating, but I liked the randomness. Sometimes I'd put it in and play just because of that since I wasn't in the mood to do the same stage over again.

I love X6 because of one the thing "THE MUSIC"
So, does that mean the end credit scene takes place at the end of the X series? It was never really expanded on during X7 or X8. Or X7 and X8 feature a Zero clone? Or "THE" Zero clone for those that know what I'm talking about?
Boy!!! This game was sure A NIGHTMARE to beat : l
But I loved Gate Soundtrack and Final Sigmas!
X6 was my intro to megaman and I thought iy was really good as a stand alone game. i was 6 i think so story did not bug me and having the random stuff made the game new and exciting every time I played through it. and the ultimate armor cheat made the game super fun aswell .
Sigma X6 battle can be described with two words
LAZORS EVERYWHERE
Level Design-wise THE GAME IS FRICKIN' BALLS. Except the Gate's Lab Levels, the deviate so much from the MMX games as to just throw everything at the player, which is Genius mentioning it is the Final Levels(Didn't like Nightmare Mother though).
Story-wise it STILL FRICKIN' WTF BALLS.
I like it for the Music too. But only to: Infinity Majinion Stage Theme, Gate Lab and the Sigma 'FINAL'(that's whats the form is called I think) battle theme.
For the Characters they were good.
The game felt decent
well done. THE great clementj642 you finish megaman x6 thank you i hope you get a good future
Wow before I watched this my favourite sigma theme was the x5 1st sigma. =)
2nd fav in the series. Childhood game
Still like the Reaper Sigma Music from Mega Man X4 but this one is awesome to.
I had a lot of fun hearing a guy saying the same thins I say when I play it.
LOL Zero wakes up 2 days after my birthday.
This year, it's when I'm having the party!
