You can't fight water, but you can be part of it. Lung full of air, and comfortable underwater. Notice how the lifeguards just pop up after a big wave, like fairy penguins!

My biggest advice if you’re in the beach is jump off the bottom. The waves go uuuuup and that’s when you jump, you’ll float right over the wave and when it goes back down after the wave you should be able to go all the way down to jump for the next wave and get another breath of air. Biggest thing is to stay calm
