Yeah, that was something that struck me as off for this episode. Most of the vocational schools I've seen, you've still got to go to high school, or they teach you high school courses there. They generally have grade requirements, can require years of training, and will give you a set of skills that can be very valuable in the workforce. I also don't get the Italian stereotype at all, if anything the place were I went was 75% Hispanic. It's just adding to the stigma around vocational schools, even suggesting that vocational school is somehow "worse" than high school. In reality, it's sometimes better than college, since so many people are going into college because "it's the only way to be successful." They are going thousands of dollars in debt to enter an oversaturated workforce, meanwhile I went to a state-funded course that cost me nothing, and am now better paid. The only major difference I see is that college requires your family to have tons of money to pay for it. It's not smart vs. dumb, it's rich vs. poor.

I'm a college student I'll be honest I'm in my field almost. I will say they roast vocational schools but you learn a trade at 14-18 so you might be making bomb ass money when you're graduating.
