She would fry it on top of the stove with cottage cheese in it and all are Croatian friends and family loved it because it was super crispy. Have you guys heard the Samoan Klapa brothers who sing Klapa and tour Croatia and the world singing Croatian songs ?
My wife and I were on holiday in Croatia last month. We flew into Split and from overhead it looked a beautiful place. We stayed on the Dalmatian coast south of Makarska, midway between Split and Dubrovnik. The coast line was beautiful and the mountain ranges stunning. Have fun.
As a travel I just love seeing other travelers like you embracing new culture and appreciate country you are visiting. Buying Croatian shirt, or using Hvala for Thanks or Riva for promenade means a lot for me as a Croatian. Oh I could cry I miss my city so much! The place you got dinner- cevapi was where I grew up- the building behind was my home. My auntie used to help out there when needed. She would just run down the stairs and voila she’d be at work lol My kids decided that was the best place too so happy me got To eat my childhood cevapi when we visited last. Glad you had a nice time, you just managed to see like 5 % of tourist spot in Split. You should check in depth how local people live and work, its production meets never ending chill..and most important coffee brakes that take hours hehe.. it is called *Splitsko stanje uma* Split state of mind ;)
You arrived to the sea shore. Cool. Croatian coast is one of the best in the world. If you have time and means I suggests to visit Šibenik and Trogir. They are smaller version of Split. Also if you can visit croatians islands it would be great. Find a little cousie beach and enjoy in shade of a some pine tree. Wish you best in your further journey.

Some respect and interest will get you far- like learning Croatian "thank you" or appreciating goods you get for the price. So- thank you, hope you enjoyed. Glad to have respectful guests. One more tip for all the visitors- ask and people will usually gladly answer. When you find out- you get more fulfilling visit. Hello. While Split is wonderful and has many amazing things, it's only the Balkan countries that were under Turks that have a good burek. So the Bsnian burek is the genuine burek.
No worries, plenty of bosnians and albanians in split and croatia alike, they basically have a monopoly on bakeries, i tried burek all across the balkans, still the best one i had in my life was in dubrava, zagreb in one old albaninan's joint, it literally melted in your mouth.

There are Bosnian muslims ( now calling themselves Bosniaks) , Bosnian Croats, Bosnian Serbs etc. There is no "Bosnian" ethnic group as the name Bosnia is named after the Bosna river.
