What's disgusting ( among other things ) is how determined they are to pretend a woman can't be powerful, strong, and still appreciate love and relationship with a man. Not so very long ago there was another ( almost surely better ) Snow White adaptation called Snow White and the Huntsman, featuring a powerful, strong Snow White, who fights and fends for herself but STILL has the ability to admire and to be helped and admired by a man.
Oh no, no, no. A woman can do so many things at once. She is so totally...you know...powerful. She just cannot balance her professional life and her private life at the same time. She must act the same way in the bedroom as in the boardroom. Maybe in her case, the other way around.

It actually nauseating. I think my Granddaughter should be praised for her accomplishments. My daughter has actually almost threatened to not visit. It's not a constant battle but I don't know how to gently guide my daughter towards positive reinforcement. I buried this so I could vent hoping my daughter seeing it.

Those few seconds of ‘someday my Prince will come’ made me feel warmer and fuzzier than anything Disney came up with in the past decade. And I’m one of those people who kept defending the company, hoping they would learn from their mistakes. But instead, they just double down on them. Boy, was I naive.
It’s as ironic as it is tragic that Disney is about to die with a ‘remake’ of the movie that put them on the map as a movie company in the first place. And all it took was 1 ‘white latina with privileges’.

In 1937, my dad was 16 yrs old which is the same age as the prince in SW. He grew up during the great depression then he volunteered to the US Marine Corps to fight for our freedom in WWII. He came home, courted my mother, married, and raised six children. He was neither weird nor a stalker. He was a fine gentleman and a member of the Greatest Generation! Shame on r.z.

Drew (Ever After) and Elle (Maleficent) are my favorite princesses. They did their live action so well and they were able to retain the spirit of the the original stories.

This is because screen writers of today don’t have the talent to write a great script, the older generation of writers based so many great movies on historical or true events and they were produced from a great selection of stars they had signed to their studios. Sadly today we don’t have that star quality anymore, today we have wannabe actors today that we have never seen before like like this one and probably with a bit of luck will never see again. I like science fiction but there is only so much of that you can see/read before we are watching/reading the same script/book only different coloured people and a different universe. There are millions of books out there surely these companies go through them to see if there are new ideas that are worthy of making a great movie with. I read a lot and l love history, so that when a new book comes out and the author has interesting characters written in it becomes in it becomes historical fiction and makes history so much more interesting. l have read a few of these and thought gee that would make a great movie and many times l have penned that in my reviews .
The reason that they are choosing to do this is because if they have a live-action remake of their own story, though being completely butchered at this point, the copyright would extend to that new work and Disney could still have their mitts firmly around the IP in some fashion.
I won't ever ever go to see a movie that will destroy completely my happy child memory of the "TRUE" Disney!

It is only a matter of time till this passes. The mouse house isn’t a non-profit and can’t keep the lights on without cash. I give it 3 years max for them to flush what they have in their pipeline (unfortunately they aren’t smart enough to simply cancel what they are filming and just pay off everyone’s contracts and not further damage their brand) and that’s when audiences will see the return of great films and classic golden age Hollywood productions. If the story is true, Ziegler was fired from doing a Snow White 2 because Snow White 2 was cancelled. This is the last we'll see of her. If the lawsuits against Disney are successful, we won't see "Snow White" 1 as Disney would have to trash it for the tax loss money.

That world seems to be rather dog eat dog, and where one can't really deviate from the herd if you want to stay in it, the only actors we know of who have started to talk against what is going on in Hollywood seem to be the ones who already have had long careers, may be pretty comfortable financially, and are big enough names that they will probably keep getting roles somewhere and in something just due to name recognition even if the Hollywood "proper" starts to ostracise them. But all of them waited to this point in their careers before doing that.
Gadot may be as demented, but with a bit more sense, or she may even be - behind the scenes - reasonably sensible, but very determined to make it in Hollywood so quite willing to embrace whatever dementia happens to be necessary at the moment to stay in the game and succeed in it. Pretty much the only thing you can really tell about her is that she has to be ambitious and with some real knowledge, by now, of how to potentially succeed in the place she is in. Zegler, on the other hand, seems to fully embrace the whole insanity, and comes off very much as somebody who probably was one of the bullies, the female queen bee version, during her kindergarten and school years and still thinks she is untouchable and can charm everybody because she is pretty and somewhat talented just because that is the way it has been so far in her life, she seems to have had pretty smooth sailing until now. She has been thoroughly spoiled in several ways.
This is a new way of acting. The actors do not play the role of the character, but the character adapts to the character of the actor.
In an archetypal love story that leaves no room for misinterpretation, Zegler perceived competition and oppression of the female gender. Being neurotic to the core, she never even considered that Snow White represented a normal woman and the prince a normal man in a relationship governed by acceptance and love. We're talking about a wild psychopathy of individualism, in which any opening to love is seen as a sign of weakness. If someone sees this in Snow White (!), what opinion would they have about anything else? This is what the fans saw, and they dismissed her quite rightly.

Good movies ask their audience to suspend their definition of reality, and in return, audiences are taken on a great ride of anticipation to payoff moments-because, if I spend my money to see a movie, I want to FORGET the problems I face in the real world-I don’t want to pay to be lectured to by late teen/ early 20’s kids whose prefrontal lobe hasn’t finished developing yet.

The simple answer to your ponderance is that quite a few entertainment companies (like Disney), has basically been infiltrated by individuals who could be described as extreme leftists, activists or Marxists. They have driven out anyone who does not conform to their ideology and those who remain are more focused on promoting their beliefs than making money.
Before the recession hit, most woke companies had free access to what was essentially an infinite supply of money from investment firms like Blackrock and Vanguard. This allowed corporations to pump out garbage without the fear of going broke. Disney specifically, had all their woke projects subsidized by their theme parks, which is their primary source of income.
TL;DR Woke people in entertainment do not care about making money and only exist to produce propaganda that benefits their ideology and world view, even if this is done at the expense of the companies they work for.
As much as I hate to say it, I don't think it's bad for business, otherwise they would've taken a different path.
