That was the most simple yet profound thing I've seen regarding non-duality, Advaita Vedanta and similar philosophies. It actually brought tears to my eyes. Captured perfectly and presented so beautifully. The search is over. Thanks
Such a beautifully done animation Mike, thank you, for sharing with the world. So great to see so many awakening to our true reality and sharing the message. Such exciting times this new era of awakening, Namaste.
Very positive and concise way of showing something so real. Hope your video goes viral for these crucial times we are living now of great shift in consciousness and awakening.
Great job Mike. I had tried creating a similar video to explain the same Advait Vedanta concepts a few weeks ago ...But yours is so much better ..Very fluid and very creative...Kudos 👍
Thanks Amit ... it's a few years old now and not entirely representative of some of the subtleties I think. But it wasn't a bad effort I guess... and was a first draft that I just went with it. I could do another but am busier these days than I was then!
Thank You Dear Brother for shining you light so brightly! @ I Rest in knowing that Peace may only be experienced now, in this only living moment in anyone's eternity.
my internal search = you everytime... in truth I worry about the situation of the universe. I love this more than anything ! Brings me to tears too because the search is over- just need to make it happen!!!
Wow Mike Jenkins that was beautifully explained and yet so simple this is how ive felt for a long time but i couldnt put it into words. But then again im speaking to myself in different expressions , different perspective. And theres nobody to take credit for it,its infinitely fulfilling just to be home thanks for this reminder.
Namaste. This is fantastic! This video points to the realisation of the truth beyond these very words. What is being pointed to must be deeply realised; you wake up to the fact that you're aware of even these words that say "this is the truth" - it is beyond these words, it is beyond anything phenomenal. Trust your intuition and take a leap of faith, stay empty, discard everything that arises in the mind, even these very instructions that say "discard every thought"....discard all of it, empty beyond the word/idea of empty! Ponder what this is trying to say to you...the realisation of what these words mean is the awakening itself, it's the awareness rising from beyond the mind and sees that every thought that arises in this moment is not ultimately true! The realisation that truth is beyond or prior to that, in a silent space itself that sees these thoughts WHATEVER they may be. It is a silent space, but it's alive, awake, alert, cognite, intelligent, and that's who you are, get used to it. Thoughts that arise may be relatively true, like a whisp, a suggestion, and indication as you're discarding that also, and going deeper and deeper, into a subtler and subtler you, beyond all identities.... Muster up spiritual power and you'll wake up on the other side. Have this intuitive realisation, that will take you beyond the mind, stay there and don't fear, at this point, whatever the mind throws at you, drop it and be empty, it will soon pass. Realise here and now that YOU ARE NOT YOUR MIND. You don't need any more words or to know anything else but that last pointing. You don't need to look for anything else, listen to satsangs, watch any more videos, read any more books; that's just more postponing, more living in time, knowing that you're not your mind is enough and will become self-evident very quickly if you stay in that state of realisation. Realising that you're not your mind frees you from any further thinking, looking for solutions or techniques on how to awaken...you wake up right now, and that's the end of the journey, and don't let the mind take you on any new journeys, when you see the mind, you've arrived, you're already home where you've always been, now experientially, the journey is over, stay put, stand firm, stay where you are, do nothing, relax, rest, drop effort, you're here, you're the space, you're naturally this, as this, you're not your mind. Positive thoughts, negative thoughts: all are journeys, all contain charges that if followed, are believed in, and in the identity...none of that is true. So again, realise right now that you're not your mind, and transcend all illusions, awaken. Have persistence, discipline, and a burning urge to wake up. Thinking anything else right now is pointless, it's more illusion, more of what's untrue; don't trust/touch a single thought. Realise you've been living projections of your conditioning and that none of the thoughts are true, all of thinking is suffering, all the false concerns and worries, false sadness, false depression...you don't have to taste it any longer. It's over. Wake up now. See through it, observe. Namaste.
Wonderful video! :) Reminded me particularly of my teen years when I felt lost & was seeking to discover myself. I would spend hours at the book store reading books on Eastern philosophy & wisdom in an attempt to learn more about life & who I was. The feeling of peace u describe reminded me of those moments when I would just sit outside & relax, embracing nature & the sky above me. Your words echo some of my favorite writers :) The journey gets even more exciting when u realize u r what u seek.
Regarding sleep. In the early days my sleep was quite disturbed... there was some lucid type dreaming and many dreams where I would write blog posts - then wake up and simply write pretty much what I'd written in the dream! Then there was a long period where there was no awareness of sleep except for dreams. And then recently, I've started to feel aware of awareness during sleep with and without dreaming.
I see me to be,- duality/non duality. The energy both is me. To search to seek externally, is to wander endlessly and fruitlessly. Observing within is not to find, but to see! , all that love, light and life is! , and shall continue to expand and be. Heartmindedly.
Hi Jill. Thanks for your comment. Sadly, I'm not the artist! It's made with a piece of software - which I did teach myself to use and basically created what you see with images already pre-drawn. :-)
Thanks so much for your comment Jason. It's quite something to find that we've been embraced by life all along - even those lost years of youth that I recall oh so well! :-)
To see through the words, within the essence of the message. Hmmm? words can derail one unto the train of thought and completely depart the message out of context. Hmm?
Beautiful video. Really, a great down to earth, sorry description of the surface of non duality existence. i am that. This is all one. For more depth seek 'sri nisargadatta Maharaj'. A great guru.
I think it was a Buddha quote saying that the problem with man is that he looks externally for fulfilment/answers, when really he should look internally
Hmmm! I look into my eyes,- and begin travelling at beyond the speed of light, past starsystems and galaxies, and to my surprise! I see our earth, and you!, standing next to me. I polarized from you, balanced in harmony , , We!
This is not the last chapter. It is still a story. It may bring clearance and a peaceful, satisfied mind, but that is still something. The world, the me and the consciousness are all something. An object. What we search is no-thing. I cannot understand, because i still have the mental setup of my illusionary story me, that wants to understand. If it dies, implodes or disappears, nobody will recognize that the self never existed. Oneness, Nonduality, God ... just is, above words, understandings and experience. You, me, we will never get, reach or be it. Leave your self and come.
Carol Naranjo This is a tricky one to isolate. The mention of monism is sprinkled within the book often directly and at times indirectly nestled within the text (or song). Being that we are both separate (illusion) and one with 'God', and people at times act as the villain or the "destroyer", as well as the victor. Krishna speaks on how the ideal of duality causes fear and hate in chapter 3. Although there seems to be separation, the "I AM" is the same in you, as it is in me. Although, I don't consider myself to be an expert on Hinduism, I am more knowledgeable on Buddhism and Taoism.
Hi. Thanks for your comment. I think when I first started writing it came out of some very clear 'glimpses' and moments of simply being as this. And I think I almost certainly did repeat some of the teachings I'd heard early on. I always tried however to look into my own direct knowing but I think it's natural that some ways of expressing this will overlap with what others communicate. As for the awareness during sleep, that's an interesting question. Space has run out so see the comment below!
'I'm reading a Chopra's book and he more or less refers to this but he also talks about a kind of soul we have and therefore conditioned by previous experience......

***** Very well said! The mind definitely tries doing what it can to be at the forefront of your being during the beginning of realization. It can be scary at first...so says the mind.
This is an intellectual understanding, which is entirely different to the actual experience of SELF,SPIRIT ,THE ABSOLUTE, AWARENESS,whatever name you care to use cannot explain the actual experience, It is beyond description,it is not even an experience in the normal sense of the word because the experiencer vanishes! and has nothing to do with what the eyes see and what the mind understands, it is rather what he Heart or Awareness feels, it cannot normally see itself, suddenly it does and the world of illusion as the object of attention loses its power, this is true renunciation, natural, the person or ego disappears ,it is seen as an idea, unnecessary desires cease , and that's totally shocking, then seen as hilarious, a huge cosmic joke.. A period of painful adjustment must follow... I am Me, SELF,Me, SELF, Me, SELF, this goes on sometimes over several lives.........only a handful are totally permanently awakened in one event..possibly because of the fruits of action or Karma from past lives. It is well illustrated in the Movie" Little Buddha" when the Buddha recognises an exact likeness to himself but it is Myra the Mind made self, a mirror image, the tempter, the very same as Christ called Satan, whom Buddha calls the Architect of the house called ego,Buddha says "you will never build your house again" brilliantly shown in the movie .Nirvana, no more rebirth in Samsara, the world of illusion..
Hey, this is so great, I just had to make a german version of it: ua-cam.com/video/XVaihEzTxkU/v-deo.html I put the link to this original video in the video description, of course. Sadly, I had no choice but to use other background music than the original one. But I think it still fits.
nice video but it seems like "oneness" isn't an accurate description of nondualism, simply because oneness implies separateness, which is dualistic. Non duality is essentially indescribable.
"implies separation" lmao. it is like someone is married and then "oneness" is implying separation. none of this nonsense make senses, and non duality is as much religious as Christianity. pure crap. reality is that no one knows shit.
Yup, it is indescribable...and even that is somehow seen as untrue :) Truth is non-dual state that is beyond description. When one experiences it for themselves, gradually, it reveals itself in profound ways, matching the descriptions enlightened people give it. Truth is recursive, a pointing to the void, so as soon as it is described or given a word or a label, it is immediately falsified as it is observed by you - the truth where those words point to, so the words cannot be true, and believing in them implicitly is what's keeping you out of your natural state; words are therefore ultimately pointless, if not a hindrance; in fact, holding on to them is a disastrous obstacle to waking up; holding on to the words turns you into an identity which cannot see itself. Stand naked, use your intuition, simply wake up to the truth; know that it's something beyond the mind. Observe everything, follow nothing; none of it is true. Even this is false. Know that deeply.
You Are Not Your Mind. Thoughts are an illusion. This must be realised. A realisation is transcendence, it's the awakening itself. Don't give in to distractions, the mind will do anything to postpone, to avoid, to resist, to run away. Sit down now, and realise deeply who you are, awaken, see that you're not your mind, and stay in that state of realisation, the longer you stay, with your full attention on the now, the stronger, the better, keep going, a one way ticket. Soon, that effort also dissolves; soon the truth will be revealed clearly, the fever of the mind will pass, the attacks will subside, the implicit belief in thoughts that arise will subside - you will not be taking your thoughts seriously anymore, in fact, you just won't believe them. They lose power, so does your ego, and all the illusory limited reality that you used to experience. This frees you.
I don't know what to say. I just want to escape from what is. Maybe I want to escape from myself. But I don't know how :P I know what you're gonna say. That I am not the energy that wants to escape. Whatever. I don't know anything anymore. There is just this feeling. And a few others. There is peace, joy AND some kind of frustration. AND some kind of confusion. AND some kind of trying, willing to escape. "This is not enough. This is not what I want. This is not enough fulfilling. This is too much.". I don't know, I don't understand it. It just is, it just happens. Am I there? I don't know. It feels like I am between being and not beeing there. Like the person is and isn't at the same time. There is resistance probably. Maybe there is a subtle suffering, too. It's similiar in a way to what I feel at the end of my dreams. I am not fully awaken yet, but dreams get more real.
greenJoker8 Research about the Ego and the true (a.k.a Higher) Self. The Ego is the role u play in life, with past and future. The Self is who you really are and it is always there, its in this present moment, and its your presence (awarenesss)
Katherine Macfie I know this theory. So what? Here's an alternative theory: I AM the ego, which has an access to awareness. What we both probably agree to is that ego has an access to awareness. It can be said, that YOU are the awareness, that ego has an access to. It can be said, that YOU are the ego that has an access to awareness. Probably both are unfalsifiable. But..it's ego which believes. Either ego believes that it is an ego, either it believes it is an awareness. Awareness is changeless, right? So it's just seeing. And ego acknowledges what awareness sees. Right?
***** Even if I won't find it, I don't see how that would prove anything. :P And WHO would be looking for it? It would be ego/person/soul/mind/individual identity. Individual, not necessarily seperate. It might as well be connected. Ego can't find ego, because IT IS ego. It can't see itself. It can only see symptoms of itself, through the eyes of awareness. Or it might be non-existent, as you suggest. Who knows. It's up in the air.
***** Your message has been deleted as a spam. Maybe because you put a hyperlink there. But I could see it anyway. You put link to Rupert Spira's website with comment "Read this. It will answer a lot of questions! Well at least for me :P" Believe me, I'm not a newbie. I think I know (at least to some degree) the nature of self-transcendence. (BTW: Sam Harris talks about it in a very understandable way). I'm familiar not only with Rupert Spira, but also with Eckhart Tolle, Anthony de Mello, Mooji, Gangaji, Byron Katie, Bentinho Massaro, Jeff Foster, Tony Parsons, Paul Smit, Lisa Cairns, Joel Goldsmith. And maybe some others I forgot or didn't mention because my familiarity was not high. I've read and watch a lot of spiritual stuff. Including non-dual stuff. And, BTW, I'm a catholic. So if there is something in spirituality that is meant to be BELIEVED IN, in order to work, then I must say that my believing system is already busy. My question was to be answered by YOU. And, BTW, my mind - however it's quite open - is very analytical and scientific. I know, I know, it's very rare. Especially among "spiritual people".
***** 1) Yes, they will. But they, at least theoretically, may be wrong :P They seem to often ignore the difference between phenomenon and noumenon. 2) I don't see any doer. Maybe because I'm him and I can't see myself :P 3) As far as I know, I've already had a few "zooming out"/"awakening"/"self-transcendence" experiences. Usually lasting for a few minutes. Maybe one lasted for about an hour. But I don't seem to remember much from it. Only some parts. It's kinda like a dream so I'm not sure what exactly I experienced. I forgot it very quickly. And maybe it's not even binary (idetified with ego or not identified with ego), maybe it's kind of a continuum. 4) The question "Who am I" doesn't seem to work for me much this way. Watching some spiritual videos or reading some spiritual literature does. But only for some time and maybe only to some degree. And I'm not sure which expierence is true: the usual one, when "I'm an ego" or the rare one, when "I'm awareness.". Maybe I (the ego) was just "stranded" in "awareness mode". I guess I'm not sure what I remember. 5) Maybe it is more difficult for me, because of possible mild Asperger Syndrome/OCPD/etc. 6) WHO is looking for the doer? The doer itself :P Would you agree?
Duality means we define ourselves as duality ... in non duality there is no defination there is non ... in duality what we seek we define it ... in non duality there is no judgment there is non .. it's how we define it ...if we define it as non duality then there is nothing there never was ...if we always try to find labels things then it's duality ...but where there is labels ...there is nothing ... it's simple
big bullshit. you ARE aware. you cant be awareness. you have a consciousness. You can't be it. What you are is a person. disconnected from everything ELSE
This stuff is many 1000sd of years old. Back then, people also criticized it (,and worse! of which is illegal today!). Same will be 1000sd of years from now. So you re wrong. , and right!
Right!!! All that all say is untrue/true at the same time. 'God' is having all say e x a c t l y what they re meant to say, at the time and manner meant to be said. So, it s perfect! (in its wierd way).

Congratulations, Mike! A wonderful video showing directly the Oneness. Thank you!
Thank you! :-)

nice way to explain the buddhist philosophy in a nice cartoon
Yeah, I agree. We are one.
Non duality is not a buddhist philosophy but it hindu's philosophy and the greatest teacher of this philosophy is adi shankaracharya
I just finished the Bhagavad-Gita, I enjoy the way they explain non duality.

it is like someone is married and then "oneness" is implying separation. none of this nonsense make senses, and non duality is as much religious as Christianity. pure crap. reality is that no one knows shit.
Dan I hope this realization greets me somewhat soon. I feel I have a long ways to go, though.
I don't know what to say. I just want to escape from what is. Maybe I want to escape from myself. But I don't know how :P
I know what you're gonna say.
So what?
Here's an alternative theory:
I AM the ego, which has an access to awareness.
And WHO would be looking for it?
It would be ego/person/soul/mind/individual identity.
Individual, not necessarily seperate. It might as well be connected.
Ego can't find ego, because IT IS ego. It can't see itself. It can only see symptoms of itself, through the eyes of awareness.
Or it might be non-existent, as you suggest. Who knows. It's up in the air.
***** Your message has been deleted as a spam. Maybe because you put a hyperlink there.
But I could see it anyway.
You put link to Rupert Spira's website with comment "Read this. It will answer a lot of questions! Well at least for me :P"
Believe me, I'm not a newbie.
I think I know (at least to some degree) the nature of self-transcendence. (BTW: Sam Harris talks about it in a very understandable way).
I'm familiar not only with Rupert Spira, but also with Eckhart Tolle,
Anthony de Mello, Mooji, Gangaji, Byron Katie, Bentinho
Massaro, Jeff Foster, Tony Parsons, Paul Smit, Lisa Cairns, Joel Goldsmith.
Maybe because I'm him and I can't see myself :P
3) As far as I know, I've already had a few "zooming out"/"awakening"/"self-transcendence" experiences.
Duality means we define ourselves as duality ... in non duality there is no defination there is non ... in duality what we seek we define it ... in non duality there is no judgment there is non .. it's how we define it ...if we define it as non duality then there is nothing there never was ...if we always try to find labels things then it's duality ...but where there is labels ...there is nothing ... it's simple
I didn't understand. My fault, sure.
Yes, frustating
Virginia Abreu de Paula You might like this video!
Can the unity and oneness that the mystic see and feels in meditation be explained by physics?
Thank you. I will watch it.
lol
Yeah, but what about Hitler? And rabies, and smallpox etc.....Just kidding 😂
big bullshit. you ARE aware. you cant be awareness.
you have a consciousness. You can't be it.
What you are is a person. disconnected from everything ELSE
77 Sounds there is actually no evidence for this. When you look directly you see, that there is awareness, but where is the one who is aware?
EineFaserImGewebeDesLebens who asks
This stuff is many 1000sd of years old. Back then, people also criticized it (,and worse! of which is illegal today!). Same will be 1000sd of years from now. So you re wrong. , and right!
That you is an illusion, a construct in the brain happening in awareness
Right!!! All that all say is untrue/true at the same time. 'God' is having all say e x a c t l y what they re meant to say, at the time and manner meant to be said. So, it s perfect! (in its wierd way).
