Great video tutorial, not as easy as it looks to remove everything to actually extract the wiring though but I got it out without damaging anything! Was really tight in the manifold housing too.
You can remove the airbox without unscrewing all the screws. Just unscrew the MAF pipe and the ECU cables and pull the whole thing out. What we've seen here is what you do when you've never worked on the left side of the OM651 before.
Good point! - We were filming a video for swapping the air filter at the same time, so the video involved us removing cover.

Thanks heaps for the video. What tool did you use to check the torque, and do you have to apply any heat resistant paste before replacing the EGT sensor?
Excellent video - thanks for posting. One follow-up suggestion / feedback: please would you show the exact disconnect procedure - how to work the pesky little grey tabs on the sensor connector. You had your hand in the way when you seperated it. I've searched all over for YT video on splitting MB connectors - there's so many different ones with clips and tricky little tabs to flex, might be a good thing to share in a future post. Thanks for the video. It's very helpful. I am getting a P208027 code (Temperature sensor 1 Exhaust system cylinder bank 1) and I'm seeing a lot of comments that suggest to replace the same part. Is there another sensor that triggers this code?
Very intersting video, thank you. My car was remapped by some worranty garage guy because he didnt want to change the dpf under warranty. This melted my dpf and CAT. Now ive put a cat back on the car and wanted to remap so the car sees the cat. We flashed the car to original and now its showing P0546 Code, seems related to this and making 100hp versus 167hp as it did before i did anything. Could this sensor be the issue?
Hi, i have engine 651.921 and sensor looks different, its 3-wire and has some plastic box on the end, it the same sensor? It is B19/11 ? Thanks
Nice video - regarding a mercedes C220 CDI T-Modell 204 2013 - Engine 651.911, is the error code P042815 "catalyst temperature sensor" the same as the one as mentioned above. Thanks again for a nive video :)

Hi there, I have trawled the internet by having no luck. I am trying to locate the coolant temp sensor on my 2015 c220 w205 om651. The temp reading is stuck at 110 degs. Any idea where it is located?

Hi mate, dod you spray any release oil on the sensor nut before removal? Mine seems ridiculously tight and im worried ill damage the manifold if i apply to mucb pressure
No release oil/penetrating fluid at all. The unit it really stuck then heat will help. If you can turn the car on and let it run and heat up that is best but a heat gun on low for a while should help too.
I have p2080 fault on mine bank 1 sensor 1?

Worth a shot! If the valve is clogged enough that it can't open or close fully it can cause P0401.

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same problem.
@@damienhealy6850 yes I did. I ended up testing the old sensor with a fancy multimeter and it failed the continuity test. So I bought a new sensor then replaced it. It wasn't hard. But then we did the class action lawsuit and they replaced the whole exhaust for free.
@@marclefebvre9697 Marc. Thank you so much for the fast response. This information is very helpful. The car is my fathers-in-law and he has owned it from new. I asked him about the class action law suit and sure enough he had the exhaust replaced by Mercedes under that law suit also. The code I’m getting states it is Bank 1, sensor 4 which is the one under the car. I’m wondering if they didn’t attach the sensor properly when they replaced the exhaust and perhaps a wire has melted or something. My concern is if its hard to get to. Did you have much trouble? Thanks again.
@@damienhealy6850 no it's easy to get to. But just make sure your father in law doesn't have warranty since the class action. We had to go back for another issue. But it's right under the cab, you just need to take the panel off and it just treads out and unplugs. Easy access.
Why take air filter box cover off when it's easier to unplug the whole air box

The sensor is located just after the catalytic converter. I'm having the same issue on a 2015 GLK 250.
What you keep calling a "switchover valve" is actually a glow plug module/relay..
