Great walkthrough, and indeed it sounds like a Buchla but its way more powerful and probably cheaper. I guess you can use Pam and Disting also for random voltage, and you'll need stackables. Don't underestimate those bananas :). I just ordered about 50 stackables to get more out of my Serge euro gear...

Yes, you're right about the cheaper price tag of this rack...although I feel a long way off from capturing that unique Easel sound. There's nothing quite like it. And I miss those beautiful color-coded sliders. I guess dissatisfaction is hardwired into our modular mindset! (PS thanks for the stackable recommendation)
This is an awesome video. Thanks! I'm working on a similar build and have question. Why is Banshee Reach considered a complex oscillator here? I'm wondering what some comparable alternatives to this module may be. I have the Dixie2+.
Thanks Scott! That's a great question. I was using the term "complex oscillator" in the way that it's used by Buchla to refer to the main oscillator on the Easel, which allows you to fold the sine and mix it with other waveforms. I guess the meaning of that term has changed; we now assume a complex oscillator has two separate oscillator cores, whereas the Easel's has just one. Anyway, good luck with your similar build!
Thanks, dinraum. Those Tiptop modules are Buchla 200 series, ie. quite different from what you get on a Buchla Easel. So if, for instance, you want to emulate the simple 5-step sequencer on the Easel, you have to look elsewhere.
