I have to say, WHAT A SHOW. Little to no hype. Empathy all over the place. Gentleness, respectfulness and kindness! Best hosts! I am soooo impressed! Thank you for giving us value! Best wishes and I am looking for ten more years of this!
These shows are always so beautiful, so full of feeling and empathy and joy. I can't see enough of them! The reunions are always so touching and beautiful, but there's always a moment of sadness for me. This should never happen to families. These poor women who find themselves pregnant and without a partner, being forced to give up their baby because they can't afford to feed and care for him/her. They always do it with love in their hearts, hoping and believing that they are doing the most generous thing by giving their child to someone who will love and raise him/her in a much better life. If only a way could be found to have more open adoptions where the birth mother could remain on the fringes of her child's life - maybe by annual update and photo from the adoptive family. Instead, these mothers go 20, 30, sometimes 50 years without knowing if their child even survived, let alone was happy and well loved. That is a very long time to spend every single day thinking of that child, wondering where they are, are they happy, are they healthy?
Love these stories. Full of disappointment, hardships, love, regrets, and so full of hope. We need the hope. The world needs hope. For those who are quick to react with out thinking, the disappointment mentioned is the disappointment in having to give up your child.
Thank you, thank you soooo much for these real-iife stories and for being the wonderful investigators you are. These stories just show the wonderful reconciliation our God wants us to have with Him. Truly, the love He has placed in a family is mighty strong and filled with love. These stories always bring me to tears, even as a U.S. marine and retired police captain. May our God bless and keep you, always. Thanks for posting. Ole Johnny B.
It's NOT the Long Lost Family crew that's posting these, that's why it's not in full screen (which I hate, by the way), so they won't see your thank You.
Thomas was born on the exact same day as my full younger brother I met when I was 21 and he was 11. I also had a full sister who was 15. Our parents had me when they were young and my grandmother made my mother give me up for adoption. Two years later they got married
What strikes me most with every episode I see is how the facial features change immediately when the answers are found. Also in the follow up how much younger they all look.
If you are talking about the photographs they show, its all in the developing room or with Photoshop. They aren't using professional actors. They can't pull off the emotions that these people pull off.
very observant! the brother with long hairs looked like another person after meeting his sister. He looked hopeful and happy at the end. The presence of his sister would surely heal him as time passes.
I couldn't imagine how hard it would have been like. For me, there wouldn't have been a problem. Life can sometimes happen so fast that someone you have looked for so long and then you find them. It would have been a joyous time. Congratulations to both of the families. Each family members who have been searching for the first time are going to have a lifetime of catching up. May God Bless you all just like your new beginnings have started.
In today’s world 2 is not worse than 1 but then it was a different world,,, I took on 5 children that where not mine ,,, I don’t regret one minute,,,, but I can understand these feelings,,,such heart aches,,,,
The “what happened next” episode on this is fabulous. It’s portrayed as awful because of what happens to the younger brother (no spoilers... that’s all I’ll say!). But for his older sister to be there to love and support him... it’s fabulous. I don’t mean to make light of the bad things that happened, but my point is... the timing here was perfect. JUST when he needed family, his younger sister steps in. As I said, it’s portrayed as sad and tragedy in the followup, but frankly, I think it’s a beautiful story from the angle of this series. The reunion could quite have literally saved his life. He’s a delicate soul. Who knows where his life would’ve spiraled. But he had his new-found sister. It’s just thoroughly fantastic.
@@kw1535 spoiler alert for anyone else (read no further)…. The younger brother, after all of his troubles in life, had both of his adopted parents die in relatively short succession. It must’ve been incredibly devastating, especially with his birth parents already gone. But I still found the story heartwarming, because the sister was there to love and support him the whole way. They seem closer than ever. And imagine this poor guy having to go through that horrific situation without any other family support. Given his fragile state the poor guy likely would’ve ended up institutionalized or suicidal. But with his new sister by his side, he’s managing well. This whole thing could, quite literally, have saved his life. It’s weird. The episode actually presents this as an incredibly sad story. I get it. His parents died. You don’t want to portray that lightly or as anything less than tragic. But it’s the result of this show… his reunion with his sister… that is allowing him to successfully navigate this part of his life. So, I actually found it heartwarming and uplifting. And because his life might have literally been saved by this, I also find this to be one of the most successful stories in the whole LLF series. There are some other great ones, but in terms of the actual impact? A life might’ve been saved here. Look at how fragile this guy is in this episode. Now imagine both of his parents dying. Can you fathom how he would’ve responded without his sister there to catch him? As I said… perhaps the most impactful reunion in the entire LLF franchise.
@@millwx you are a gem!! I think you’re absolutely right. What a serendipitous thing that she came into his life when she did. I hope he continues to heal from the trauma and that she’s there to support him. Thank you for taking the time to write this!!
@@kw1535 it really is a fabulous story. My only complaint is that they preface it as a bad story. I get it. His adoptive parents passed. That’s devastating. But from the perspective of the connection the show made, it’s spectacular. I would literally, no joke, fear for this guy’s very life if he had no support system. You’ve seen the original episode. You saw how fragile he is. Imagine him losing the only two parents he’s ever known. This poor guy has, I hate to say it out loud, suicide written all over him. His newfound sister may have very literally saved his life. Sorry, I’m repeating myself, but I find this to be perhaps the most profoundly heartwarming follow-up stories ever presented on LLF. We’re possibly, literally talking about a young man’s life being saved. Yet, LLF presents it as a negative story (they intro it as one of those stories that doesn’t always work out as wonderfully as you’d hope). It is, in fact, perhaps the most wonderful followup story they’ve ever presented. This fragile, dare I suspect - suicidal, young man gets saved by the overwhelming support and love from his newfound sister. You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful story.
Wondering why they didn't look for the man who fathered these two children. Seems like he got off scot free. Did he spend his life wondering about the two children he fathered with his "girlfriend"?
Ive given 2 kids up for adoption at birth but I could never imagine having to do it weeks later and thinking the whole time I was keeping my child that has to be gut wrenching
The thing that strikes me about the woman who wanted her boyfriend to leave his wife and kids for her . . .doesn't she ever stop and think that she would be completely destroying another woman's happiness, another set of boys and girls who would be losing their daddy, experiencing the life-long heart ache of divorce-abandonment were she successful in breaking up their home??? When did selfishness to this degree ever become ok in our society? People are acting/commenting like there is no human wreckage if this woman had her way.
Keep in mind Elizabeth was a 16 year old young girl having relations with a very experienced married man who had left his wife & children for HER. I'm not condoning her behavior whatsoever, but this man left his whole family to create a new one with a TEENAGER! Her parents even knew about this affair and helped her support her daughter Janice. Yes she got her karma tenfold, and it was him leaving her to reconcile with his wife & family and putting up their illegitimate child for adoption. In my opinion, she received her "punishment" waiting 55 years to finally have her "family unit" back. This is a sad situation across the board, but I honestly feel a young girl was taken advantage of & manipulated by an older man.
narniagirl 4ever I too am angry and disgusted that she thought it was ok to take a man who already had a wife and kids and carry on with him. As far as this married man, he is just as bad as she is. I’m sure he was thinking he had it all-a wife and kids at home and a girlfriend on the side for a little bit of a change in the bedroom and then after she gave birth a second time he thought “oh damn, I better get out before there’s a third one”. They both have the morals and the restraint of an alley cat.
@Nilly K I do have a conscience and I'm not condoning what she did whatsoever. She obviously paid for it by putting up her married lover's child up for adoption. We all make bad choices and we are not perfect even though some of us think we are. Must she pay for sleeping with a married man and having two children with him for the rest of her life? I don't think so...My opinion.
Blood relative or Family isnot by choice but mothernature decides and chose for you😂. Sense of belonging especial to blood related Family is so amazing....

I have hope & faith that it will happen 🤞🤞🙏
Well since their real parents passed away maybe finding his sister now she can share his adoptive parents his adoptive mom does kind of look like his sister like his adoptive dad said
It’s so bitter sweet that his adoptive parents did indeed both pass away shortly after this was filmed and his sister helped him a lot - maybe having her saved his life because his mental state is so fragile (there is a „where are they now? Episode were the story is featured)
@@4legs4paws55 Thank you - I was not aware that his adopting parents had passed away so soon after he met his sister - but I could see the relief on their faces that their son would have someone who cared about him.
I love this show! Whether the UK or the US. I can't turn off the captions for the UK as they are annoying because the translation is wrong 95% of the time.
Whenever I see one of these where one kids adopted, and another not, or they had another later and kept it etc, I wait for them to say how the hell do you think my life has been, how nice for you that you were kept. But they are always so nice about it for some reason.
I cannot fathom feeling that way about adoptive siblings.... How very strange. It wasn't the siblings fault anyway. I would be utterly thrilled to find a sibling no matter what. Even the biological parents... I wouldn't blame them. Even with a bad life or childhood. They undoubtedly did what they thought they could. I can't imagine feeling the easy you've expressed. How sad for you.
Why be ugly and unkind? A lot of reasons and circumstances can happen, no need for more pain to be added to these already terrible things that happen along in life. What's most important is they are now wanting to rekindle that lost soul and love. How very fortunate for those who now have hope of a whole new chance to have all that they have lost so, so many years AGO....BRAVO!!!
I went looking for my biological mother in Colombia and found she didn't want anything to do with me as I guess I was a secret. I did find that I have an older full or half sister and I may have found her on Facebook. Still debating whether to reach out to her or not.
My colleague spent thousands of dollars on private detectives trying to locate her birth mother. Once located, the woman wanted nothing to do with the daughter she had put up for adoption. As it turns out my colleague was raised by wonderful, loving adoptive parents, she was well educated, and she enjoyed a very good life. Certainly there are circumstances that are not shown by the producers where this is the case, but I find these productions to be wonderful.
I have a friend who located her birth mother as well - and the mother did not want to meet her. I think often times, it is because the birth mother had never shared the secret with their own family - and the shame of it being discovered years later would be too much for them to handle. I think it very much depends on the era and societal views at the time of the birth as well. The other thing one has to consider was the pregnancy might have been as a result of a rape or incest - or a one night stand. Not all girls end up pregnant because they are in love - and I think this very well might be why they do not want to meet the child.
@@singtweetypie For my colleague's family there was more sadness in store. She died while at work from a burst artery, a genetic birth defect that may have been intercepted had she known something about her biological family, or not. We worked in a transplant hospital, and she had it set up that her organs would be donated. She now lives on by providing lives for others. Life's journey has such twists and turns.
@@nomebear How very tragic. I am very sorry for you, your colleague and her family. One of the LLF stories I watched was exactly about this type of issue..where finding the family helped avert an early death because of a known genetic illness. There are lots of reasons to want to find family, and this is certainly an important one. I would prefer to think in your friend's case, that the mother did not know about the genetic birth defect, or surely she would have passed that important piece of information on. She may have had her own reasons for not wanting to meet her child, but cannot believe she would be cruel. The other possibility is that the genetic defect was on the father's side, and she did not know.
@@singtweetypie Thank you for your kindness, I also prefer to think that the biological mother was unaware of the genetic defect which may have been on the father's side. A wiz with Photoshop, I created a portrait of her for her family. I was flattered when they used that image in her obituary notice.
That is awful To have 1 child and give birth to another And then your parents telling you that can't help you with the other 1 and the hardest thing is that you gotta get rid of the other 1 or 1 of them I bet that was so hard for her We gotta seem to about that child and she gave away you might not wanna have nothing to do with her you know because she depend in She could have worked and kept him
i have watched lots of episode but this is the only one wherein the letter sent was properly written with indention, hahahahha sori cant help to noticed
That mother is so heartless cause she didn't want to know but that dad was yearning Do you know where his son was And he died before he could do it Didn't she ever look in her home to see if there were any documents that the dad had left behind About her brother I hope that she finds her brother

I CANNOT believe the grandparents on these shows! They make their daughter give up a son, but keep a daughter is utter cruelty!
They couldn't deal with taking care of two little kids, they were absolutely not cruel, it's the parents fault not the grandparents !

What did she do in somebody elses marriage? She did not think about what she did to another family.
She was a teen and groomed.
That's what you get for messing with a married man. This is on both of them, her and her "boyfriend". Both of them are wrong.
why do the intermedtary have the right to see the records when no one else can?
That is awful To have 1 child and give birth to another And then your parents telling you that can't help you with the other 1 and the hardest thing is that you gotta get rid of the other 1 or 1 of them I bet that was so hard for her We gotta seem to about that child and she gave away you might not wanna have nothing to do with her you know because she depend in She could have worked and kept him
This makes me wonder how many adopted people have had sex with their blood relatives.

First mistake to to go with a married man…sorry…but the truth…
How can a married man father two and walk away
With a sixteen year old girl. Think that explains it all
That mother is so heartless cause she didn't want to know but that dad was yearning Do you know where his son was And he died before he could do it Didn't she ever look in her home to see if there were any documents that the dad had left behind About her brother I hope that she finds her brother
did CHRISTIAN MEET HIS PARENTS
Christian’s birth parents are both deceased
So if u have 1 bedroom apartment u give up ur child for adoption 😂 i have 2 kids and we live in 1 bedroom apartment
They couldn't find work and were in a "bedroom" not a 1 bedroom apartment...guess you missed that part SMH
I think they rented 1 bedroom, not an apartment.
I dont know why they don't finish 1 story b4 they start the next one. Annoying
Christian could say… I love you, Mom and Dad. You just got another daughter. You’re going to see her quite a bit.
you shouldn't have sped the video up like this.
