Can we talk about how refreshing and humane it is that a TV show, in this day and age, has the courage to recognize that certain moments are just better away from the cameras? Much respect.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! 🥰🙏 ....because those are such private moments. I'm glad they don't show it. If they did I would forward over it. I don't like feeling like a voyeur.
Sadly that would never happen here in the United States. And I bet they'd say it's because we want to see it all. Personally I have so much respect that they do things privately, and I bet I'm not the only 1!
..in fact, it DOESN'T HAPPEN in the U.S. The version of this very show here films the whole ugly delivery of news when a person has passed. I love the U.K. show so much more for their decency and compassion over sensationalism and ratings.

I am a 68 year old man here . I just began watching this series . I find myself emotionally involved with each show . The joy this program brings to both the people involved as well as the viewer is quite remarkable .... But the Norma & Franciscia story was beyond the pale .. It had me crying like a baby . THIS is what unconditional love looks like
Franchesca's adoptive mother was a lovely woman, to immediately tell her "No, she did it because she loved you…" What an amazing woman ❤️

It's refreshing to see that some journalists (hosts) understand privacy. So many times we see them give someone devastating news with a camera in there face and then ask "how do you feel". It's nice to see these folks have compassion and are thoughtful toward others.

the fact that maria's mother never married and had children is absolutely heartbreaking...

It's amazing that Francesca and her birth mom not only look alike, they have the same personality. So calming, sweet, and caring. I hope everything works out well for them in this new adventure they are embarking on.

35:31 I think the Italian family are so lovely. The way Silvana tried her best to make Maria feel loved. And Ada giving her the ring she inherited. It speaks so much of Gilda’s giving, loving family. They welcomed Maria so warmly!

It is not a ''her, she, female'' so no, it is not ''her daughter'' but it is her son. Soo.

It should be her son. So, accept reality, her son will always be male. Biology is permanent.
He has only altered his appearance.
This is the best show ever. I feels pure love through the screen. Intermittent balling and smiling. This is a go to if you are feeling sad or alone. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ there is pure unconditional love in this world.

i wonder if she was ever able to get ahold of any uncles or cousins from her dad side of the family I'm sure they might feel blessed to have a piece of her dad still alive after dying so young in a car accident

Belinda Babette I don’t think it’s about that really. We have no idea if her father even knew he was going to be a father before the car accident. Her mother kept her a secret to her death so I’m sure you can imagine the possible rejection. Anyway, she didn’t ask about her father-she asked about her mother because of the physical attachment from when you’re born. There are a lot of great fathers out there. Did you not see the episode prior to this one? The guy was looking for his FATHER.
Belinda Babette and with the deal with Francesca it was already stated that they believe her birth father was probably a married man. No one wants to post that drama. They already do it on the American version.

These programs are so powerful,but this one even more so.Norma and Francesca,Maria and the welcome she received not just from Silvana but the whole family! I'm always moved but I've cried happy for all of them.
Italians are so loving mostly... all the ones I've ever met...
My father as an escaped P.O.W. from German capture rode over Swiss Alps on bicycle down to Italy Padua...Italian family hid him in their cowshed from German soldiers...
He left his heart there and a possible half-brother/sister too...SA military took him & his friend back to SA under force... not too sure of details but often think of his maudlin heartache when talking about his war stories...

I'm feel so bad that the Italian mom passed on before she knew her daughter was doing well and was happy. She looks like such a kind person - the type of person who deserves that relief
They missed each other by a year.
Heart breaking
Being an Italian I could see how much Maria's mother suffered in her heart loosing a boyfriend and a child and taking all that love to the grave with her to preserve family dignity and love. So sorry Maria never had the opportunity to meet her mom but Maria has her now thru her new found family. God bless u all.
Maria and all her family look alike. This is so sweet.
In the late 70s when he realized he was gay, my brother told our mom. She had told us several years before that she wanted us to always be upfront with her no matter what the "issue" was. ...she would love us no matter. I think he was around age of 24. At the start, it was strange to her but she lived through the strangeness and eventually was able to accept his new identy. I was very proud that we had such a mom.

I cried quite a bit too.
This was one of the most beautiful episodes ever. I cried so much. So lovely for both women to find their families and have that connection with them. My heart just wanted to burst with joy.
I think this episode is gonna be the catalyst for me to finally come out as a trans woman to my dad. Francesca and Norma are so inspirational and the love and warmth I feel from them are so genuine and radiant.
I hope you did it and i hope it went the best possible way and you are able to live fully in the world as the woman you are, surrounded by love!

I've watched these episodes often. I love watching families reuniting. Our father left and we didn't see him again in England again, I had his address in South Africa so I went to meet him. His new wife was a lovely lady and made my stay very happy. Meeting father answered many questions for me. I stayed in touch often from a long distance, as I lived in several countries, up until his death.

I love the Families in this episode. With the Italians....Despite a language barriers they still speak the same language of LOVE. That’s amazing and so unheard of where I’m from in America. And the transgendered family made me cry. The acceptance was overwhelmingly BEAUTIFUL. That person is their CHILD no matter what. Amazing

I am thankful for these types of shows. Since the death of my husband, I have treasure friendships. I am still seeking where I belong and where is a family for me. My thoughts are with much hope.
Hi Dawn, I lost my bestfriend last year and understand the true meaning of lost...I'm so sad because I missed her so much. I will pray for you to find where you belong but for now each day is an opportunity for carry on in faith.
I still missed my mom even had been with her for 35 years. She passed away in 2015. I still missed her everyday. Having to meet your mom again, its a miracle.

Came along this video and I have to say that it really moved me both in my heart ❤️ and emotionally, it’s as if when listening to the stories I could feel their pain but at the same time I felt the the joy and happiness too. It’s so good to know it all ended so very well and that they can now build that strong relationship together as a family . . . Oh and yes I did cry with them as they invited us in their journey to find lost family ....well done ! 😁👍🏻

I did an ancestry DNA test with my sister for the fun of it n out of curiosity ..and ended up finding a half brother to our mom that her n her siblings never knew about. We cried so hard when we met him n it was pure love..it hurt to know that I went to school with my cousin,never knowing we were family and that my uncle was so close to where Ive lived all my life. But now we r all close. Ive been watching long lost family for years never thought it would happen to me

How beautiful is this courage to be all of yourself and be supported in that? Especially in this life where there are so many living in fear who project that as anger. Choose only those people in your life who expand you, see the beautiful soul in you and accept you for everything you are.

There are so many things I love about this show. It's all about family and not about judgement.
My mother as a Registered Nurse & Midwife, told us about the high number of babies born with both female & male genitals... cannot stand judgemental morons who do not have one iota of knowledge re this phenomenom...lovely mother - full of love and acceptance...
I personally know someone who was born with both genitals. In most cases, especially in the old times, the doctors would automatically perform the surgery and they would often keep the male genitalia. This person was raised as a woman. But all her life, she had always felt that she was a transgender person-- she had always felt that she is truly a man. It wasn't until her parents passed, that she found out the truth. At 37, she is now transitioning to a he.
Sorry if I kept referring to this person as a "she", I just wanted to emphasize the transition from female to male. In all other aspects, I refer to him as a he. :)
Had my mom not spoken of this, I wldn't have been the wiser... the human structure is very intricate - I NEVER judge anyone ever... "walk in someone's shoes first" as the saying goes... kindness & compassion cost nothing...
That is precisely why homophobic so-called Christians are so wrong. People are born how they are born, period. And if life experiences change their outlook on themselves, who are we to judge? We cannot know how every person came to be who they are at this moment as it is really none of our business. It is our duty, as fellow humans, to show warmth, kindness and respect to others. We have an obligation to make this world a better place for everyone.
I’m friends with two transgender people, and my son is gay. I can honestly say he was born gay. He always knew, and so did most people who met him. It hurts me so much when people condemn him, or anyone because of their sexual identity. He is as dear a person as I’ve ever met, and I’m very proud to be his mom❤️😁

Norma is a wonderful person. I believe her heart is solid gold. She accepted her daughter so easily and plans to be by her side as she transitions. So fantastic! I love this show! Klennex loves me to.....I think I own part of the company.......
