This is exactly what I'm considering this monitor for. Do you have one and use it with a mac? I've read so many negative comments regarding scaling issues that I'm wondering if this will work.
I think one more downside to add is that it does not support native scaling. If you use the HiDPI resolution, either the fonts are too small or too big.
1:41⁉ How did you rotate the display? I can't seem to get the option on my M1-13in , is it with USB-C or HDMI❓ "rotate display" only pops up on my M1-13in when I disconnect the Dualup in the "Hold Option+system settings>Hold Option+display" ❗Doesn't give me the option when I connect with USB-C... 🤷♂
I create music and use Protools and that usually takes up tons of real-estate. This looks like it will be my new pick up for my music production set up.
Did you use the OnScreen LG software on your mac in tandem with DisplayLink software? Really love this display but need to research it beforehand. I'm thinking of adding this to my iMac M1
If it was 220 dpi then I would be totally interested. I really want three x 24 inch (4.5k) displays in portrait mode fused together as a one 8k display
I'm curious to know. If I need to use Picture by Picture, will macOS respect the aspect ratio of the split resolution? It's my personal experience that Macs can be a pain in the rear with PbP on 16:9 monitors due to it not respecting 8:9.
macOS will just think its two separate displays I don't think its a big issue, I am planning on buying this monitor and I'll test it out and let you know.
Great review, just didn't understood when he said that the Mac only supports 1 external monitor, I have been using 2-3 external monitors ever since my old intel mac without any issue, except when I connected a 3rd, the performance would dropped significantly, and even connected once the iPad as a 4th monitor, they were all versions with dedicated video card tho. Currently using 3 monitors with my M2 Pro Max without any performance issue, but just read that the regular M1 and M2 version supposedly have this limitation, super weird, when I have no such limitation in my old 2018 i9 Mac.
Some people don't have a lot of stuff to get done on their personal computer, their work is other stuff and they rarely need to do computer related admin work at home. For them, the computer may be purely an entertainment device
Why would you prefer the Mateview? I’m trying to decide between these exact two monitors for productivity. Lots of pdfs open at once while writing. But can’t figure out which one is best for what i’ll use it for. Any thoughts?
Wait, what? The brand of laptop that is specifically targeted at graphic designers can only handle one external monitor? Man, Apple really doesn't seem to like their own customers very much.
Really, the Pros use Airs that support one external monitor, PROBABLY they use something that has PRO in the name that supports more than one external monitor. Apple products are expensive enough, so why make a lower end & lower cost laptop support a PRO feature? Also it is not mostly an artificial limitation as Apple loves to do as additional applicable functionality is built into the next higher level processor package. This monitor is $800, if somebody is trying to save money on the laptop but spend this much on a monitor it would suggest that they are not aware of other viable options to get what they “need” for less.
I am a professional composer and music professor who writes a lot of orchestra music. and this is IDEAL for looking at orchestra scores.
Absolutely. Not only scores, but mixers with lots of inserts and other similar things come to mind.
@@xmaverickhunterkx yes I know that well
Yea it makes so much more sense than ultrawides for that sort of work. Would be ideal for single-screen focused DAWs like Logic or Ableton
This is exactly what I'm considering this monitor for. Do you have one and use it with a mac? I've read so many negative comments regarding scaling issues that I'm wondering if this will work.
I was thinking the same thing. Sibelius excellent and logic with many tracks also excellent. Can’t wait for mine to arrive
Bro the way you did the lighting on your face just SENDS the 4k.60 through the roof.
I think one more downside to add is that it does not support native scaling. If you use the HiDPI resolution, either the fonts are too small or too big.
isn't this every monitor that isn't 5K?
This thing its the best for Notion and other productivity tools! Kudos!
I’m studying interior design and architecture! This will be perfect for me to have sketchup / 3DS Max on one screen and enscape / VRay on another!
This is the best DualUp review I've seen. Excellent work! 👏
I have one on order.
Thank you!
i like this but wish it is mini-LED or OLED
1:41⁉

cool editing on the ultrawide+double tall. the resulting sizes at around 1:24 are really aesthetic
I like he 43” 4k monitor I have. I would love apple to do a 32” mini led screen as good as the laptop screen though.
I create music and use Protools and that usually takes up tons of real-estate. This looks like it will be my new pick up for my music production set up.
So you mention that M1 air macs can’t work with 2 monitors. So They can’t work with this one ?
Hmm... Think about that... Is this one monitor or two monitors?
It's one isn't it.. there's your answer
What you mean by the M1 only supporting one external monitor? I have two on mine!
Do you have M1 or M1 pro?
Did you use the OnScreen LG software on your mac in tandem with DisplayLink software? Really love this display but need to research it beforehand. I'm thinking of adding this to my iMac M1
Thanks for the video! When connected to Macbook Air M1 2020, does the text appear blurry or does this monitor not have that issue with M1?
If it was 220 dpi then I would be totally interested. I really want three x 24 inch (4.5k) displays in portrait mode fused together as a one 8k display
Will it be a good choice for a web designer/Developer ?
Can two of these monitors be daisy chained and be able to work with M2 MacBook air? Assuming this monitor does have thunderbolt ports.

@@hassanaljadooa oh I have it. They're treated as a proper 1440p

even m1 ultra supports 2 external monitors at 6k 60Hz
How does the text look like when reading docs? Are they sharp or crip?
crisp. not 4k
Can MacOS support the resolution for this monitor natively?
nope. It is not 4k.
4k is a must.
They should have just made it 4:3.
I never had a big square CRT.
Can this monitor be used with M2 MacBook Air ?
Gaming is like the least important reason to use a computer....Getting stuff done is really much more valuable, and this is ideal....
Some people don't have a lot of stuff to get done on their personal computer, their work is other stuff and they rarely need to do computer related admin work at home. For them, the computer may be purely an entertainment device
No yeah about all the gamers in the world would disagree with you, this monitor is definitely not gamer focused, but it's productivity focused.
I want to play Mario on my Mac
I'll take the Huawei MateView instead. 4:3 28.2" panel
Yuck, CCP state-sponsored monitors.
Why would you prefer the Mateview?
I’m trying to decide between these exact two monitors for productivity. Lots of pdfs open at once while writing. But can’t figure out which one is best for what i’ll use it for. Any thoughts?
I liked gaming. I play GTA games all the time.
Your hair is on point!
Now that you've pointed it out, sheesh it's a lion's mane for sure.
How to play Mario on the Mac🫡

The air is not targeted at graphic designers. That would be the MacBook pro. Which can do more than one
If it’s not retina then I don’t care.
Bizarrely small. You can get bigger better monitors for way less money.
Lol? But it's not small
